Once I read some story where a guy was suicidal in the military, he'd on-and-off be guarding the armoury and on-and-off suicidal, but luckily they never coincided.

Came across this clip in November 2024. Just look at the massive phone that Danny Glover is using while Riggs is chilling with his chips. Hard to believe that phones back then were ever that big.
For a moment, when they had eye contact like that, they were almost functioning as one. The fact that Mr. Glover's character saw he was serious and stopped him just in time says it all.
