I am loving your series so far. I appreciate how observant you are, rather than just going straight from viewpoint-to-viewpoint. For instance, it was great to hear the sound that the earth was making in Furnas, or taking the time to stop and notice the lizards, and getting them on video (those lizards are Lacerta dugesii - the Madeiran Wall Lizard. They are non-native to the Azores, but have long ago settled the islands as trade between the archipelagos occurred). You constantly notice the 'little things', and I think this really helps in making us feel like we are actually accompanying you on these hikes. Thank you!
This channel is helping me plan my July 2023 trip to the Azores. Thank you. The channel would be even better if you included links to Google Maps in the description to show where the trailheads are, etc.
I really appreciate how you let us know that maybe you don't know where you are going, or one place was better than what you had planned. it is a refreshing break from people who just want that perfect photo shot. You really want to explore the area. Thank you for sharing. I will be on the island in about 2 months! I can't wait. Can you maybe do a video on your transport around the area. Are you mostly taking busses? How are the routes and schedules?
Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying this style. :) I mostly took the busses. This is sometimes stressful because for instance on my Sete Cidades hike the only bus back would go at around 16:20, which isn’t really enough time. But it worked rather well over all! Schedules are mostly sufficient if you want to go to a place in the morning and return late in the afternoon. Bus stops don’t have names on them so it’s sometimes a guess if you are waiting in the right spot. I went by taxi as well, which worked fine but is of course more expensive.
I love your videos thank you so much for sharing. I will be going to San Miguel Island in the near future and the information you have shared has made my trip so much easier. I just wanted to ask you what app do you use for your hiking trails?
