Only if the framerate is solid. Some VR games are horrible because of the framerate. Firewall is an example of perfect framerate. This game will not give anyone motion sickness.
Welcome to the Ace Combat series! When you get your AC 5/6, practice flying with expert (non-arcade) settings. Not only the experience more hair raising (I had countless moments of almost eating dirt, slamming into a ship, or blasting through tunnels) but if you want to survive online and have more of a immersive experience. It can be a little weird at first, but you will never look back.
i HIGHLY recommend this series, even if flight arcade sims arent your thing. all main ace combat games were outstanding, from the original Air Combat to this.
I just wish they'd publish a video game compendium that included totally redone versions of the history of Strangereal up to Skies Unknown. I joined up as of Ace Combat 4, so I'd like to be able to play through all of the wars leading up to the present confrontation, so as to have a complete understanding of the timeline. While one realizes that one could look it up, it seems like it would be more fun to experience it.
I've played since Air Combat on PS1. Seeing how this series has evolved is stunning. my favorite story was Shattered Skies. The music was awesome and the story was great. I've got this preordered and can't wait to play it next week.

In Bethesda's defense, getting a new game engine would cost them a lot of extra work. As a beginner learning Unity, I can tell there's a lot of programming involved, even for simple tasks like moving your character in game, and these scripts are written in a way so that a specific engine will be compatible with it. Said script relies on codes from the engine while being an addition to the engine, if that makes sense. I guess they've been re-using a lot of their old codes since Fallout 3, thus if I'm right, then they would have to re-write a lot of scripts/code if they were to switch engines.

Yes, that might look daunting for an individual but that's why making games costs money and people are paid to work for doing those kinds of things amongst other various important things to make a game. Jack Kenny Sekiro is definitely not gonna have a better story. MAYBE Metro but AC is basically Metal Gear Solid with planes, it cheesy but it’s damn good story wise.

Also, when you're facing the Annihilation missions, remember to not bring only air-to-air weapons with you; they are useless against ground targets. Use air-to-ground weapons such as GPB bombs or RKTL. 2. If you're new to the Ace Combat series and this is your first AC game, here's an important hint: Do not use "Novice" controls. You will only have problems flying the plane: use the "Expert" ones. 3. If you have created strategic tactics to deal with enemies (such as the "fake retreat" tactic invented by the Athenian hero Themistocles against the Persians), keep them for the Battle Royale and the Deathmatches. They will work better. 4. Some airplanes (like the A-10C Thunderbolt II), even if they are resistant, are not able to deal with faster targets, so pay attention to the plane you choose! 5. Lastly, the flare commands. Press L3 and R3 simultaneously to deploy the anti-missile flares (LS and RS if you are using the Xbox). Flares, even if they can only be used 4 or 5 times, are very useful for deflecting enemy missiles. If you are unable to use the flares or you have depleted them, remember always that you can make a tight turn to avoid the missiles. *That's all. Did I skip something?*
You forgot Air jousting, if i remember back to solo wing pixy that was one of the things needed to even score a hit. I wished developer of Ace combat did all the work for aircraft in other games (such as battlefield series). Many of FPS developers suck at aircraft, but these guys know how to do it right

16. Its gonna have the F104 starfighter!! I think Namco should consider doing a Ace combat game that goes back in time. Starting from Missile armed F-86 sabre's and Mig-15's, with the top jets being planes like the F-14 or MiG-29

Unguided rockets are the primary weapon -You slowly get further to transonic f86's, Hunters, Mig 15's etc You're standard weapons are now the missiles we all know in Ace combat. Further supplanted my unguided rockets, bombs -We come in the era of the century series. F-100's till 105. Guided missiles and bombs start to appear. Supersonic speeds are now the norm. Sparrows and Anabs are also part of your inventory aswel. As you progress, some of these missiles also become avaible on your early aircraft -Post vietnam- End of cold war. Now with advanced missiles like AMRAAM and such Strangereal has SO many countries or they can make up countries up like in the past. A total war on the grandscale.

VR motion sickness gets better with time in my experience, my friends all struggle to play for mor than 5 minutes when they try my headset whereas I have no issues since I've used it so much
Started today, loving it, brings back fond memories of ps2 days with A/C zero - belkan war and the last boss fight with “pixy” in his ADFX-02 plane (has to google😂) with the mad laser on top and stuff 😅 took me a few minutes to get used to the planes handling as only played the battlefield series last few years and it’s all different, I’m playing control mode on standard so the plane will roll about 120° either side to turn but not do a complete 360°unless you change to expert controls which gives you the whole ability to turn 180 then use the rudders up or down to turn, but I feel it’s abit scatty when in that mode, loving the game tho and have about 6 hrs into it 🙌 still got the brilliant story line (don’t skip the cutscenes) and the mad ‘boss’ fights like the mammoth drone launcher craft 😅👌
I am aware this is not a simulator - but I would love to play a casual arcady fighter game on my HOTAS and Track-IR - any knowledge on support for said gadgets? ...also, what happens when you complete the storyline - are there dynamic pve missions or something to keep you playing after that, or do you have to go pvp mode in order to keep plating?
That mission was 1 of my top story moments in a game ever. the voice acting, music, and the overall look of everything was perfect. That day i became the best pilot ever in any AC game with tears in my eyes. RIP Chopper

Just to let people know there's is going to be 21 missions and 30 plus fighter jets the 2 most key important information you need to let people know in this video which you miss out plus 3 bonus missions and 3 new jets but is classified at this point.oh and it about bloody time both Xbox and ps4 have a game like this.
@Alec Glover There is PvP for sure. There has also always been a free flight mode in all AC games where you can freely fly around in any map of your choice. Not much to do but it's nice to just fly around without worrying about anything occasionally. I'm sure AC7 will have it too.

so many emblems i can't decide on which one to pick. wonder if project aces would pay homage to Phoenix/scarface 1 and Mobius 1 or any of the protagonist by allowing us to earn there emblem in a special mission or face them off as bosses? we may be facing Mobius 1 in an F-22 Raptor, Phoenix in an XFA-27, Garuda 1 in a F-15 eagle and Blaze in a F-14 tomcat. also some wonder if Lynx/Cheetah/Teacher emblem is in the game. Project Aces did work innocent aces right? i want to inspire fear in multiplayer like the Teacher in the movie and in the game.
One question some aircraft have more than flares and chaff such as an f 35 being able to jam radar and deploy a towed radar decoy how will this work and is this even in the game

Does it have separate roll and elevator controls like Ace Combat 5. I forget which one I had but to turn right you would push right on a joystick and it would roll the then elevate for you. I instantly sold the game.
You mean the dogfight mode from Ace Combat assault horizon? Yeah that’s gone. And actually, expert controls are the normal controls from the previous games so pick that one to have full control of your craft

i wish u could do the (i dont remember how its called) cobra maneuver? snake? idk, the maneuver where ur flying, and u tilt upwards and just suddenly slow down so that bandits on ur 6 get infront of u and now ur behind them. without this move available, it would be extremely hard to counter attack enemies that are on ur 6, especially in multiplayer
It's classified as an Attacker, Ace Combat games have always had aircraft that have different roles, which are Fighters, Attackers, and Multi-Role aircraft. You can tell which aircraft fits what role simply by the nomenclature, ie the F in say the F-15/F-22 stands for Fighter, the A in the A-10 stands for attacker, and the F/A in the F/A-18F Super Hornet stands for Fighter/Attack, that's just one way to tell as you can also use the in-game descriptions to tell which aircraft fits what role

From past experience(AC 4,AC0),Stealth jets still hold their stealth value although not so significant.But no I don't think the sensors will work like in real life,though considering this one particular series has improved I won't be surprised if it has something different.
Remember that the VR is just experimental. This is their first real title since the hugely controversial Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. So they're being careful. Plus the limitations of consoles, along with the fact that there just isn't enough of a market on VR to justify a complete development. I'd wait til Ace Combat 8 and 9. Also, if you're looking for a great fill VR supported title, look no further than Wipeout: Omega Collection! ;)
Do understand, the resolution and textures in VR are less than that in the standard game (to keep FPS around 120 to avoid visual lag and overwhelming nausea). To do the entire game in VR would cause them to have 2, separate, but full games on one disc. A re-release on the other hand, strictly VR only could be a possibility.
This definitely looks good, but if they hadn't fleeced everyone who played (Infinity) that would still be the ace combat we would all be playing, that game was so much fun, I've never wanted to meet the idiots who said yeah let's charge a dollar per play that sounds good, and slap the shit out of them so badly, and I'm a Destiny player!
I believe if it wasn't for Infinity we wouldn't have gotten AC7. At least not in this scale. Infinity was also a decent and fun game, but the monetization was so goddamn bad...

And i don’t think it was nostalgia, as I’ve played hundreds of games since then, and AC5 has one of the best stories and gameplay I’ve ever experienced. I hope AC7 lives up to the ace combat expectation.
I have only ever played Ace Combat: Assault Horizon before. I actually really enjoyed it, even though many people haven’t. I am buying this game in honor of my father, who himself was a Naval NFO for his nearly 30 year career in the United States Navy. He passed away last year in November, helping his father fly his private plane from California to Florida. That’s why I will be engraving my fathers name and Naval Callsign into my joystick. I think Namco should consider doing a Ace combat game that goes back in time. Starting from Missile armed F-86 sabre's and Mig-15's, with the top jets being planes like the F-14 or MiG-29
Korean war era planes would be perfect for the type of combat AC has. That would be amazing.

-you start with subsonic Thunderjets and Mig-9's with perhaps only guns. Unguided rockets are the primary weapon
-You slowly get further to transonic f86's, Hunters, Mig 15's etc You're standard weapons are now the missiles we all know in Ace combat. Further supplanted my unguided rockets, bombs
-We come in the era of the century series. F-100's till 105. Guided missiles and bombs start to appear. Supersonic speeds are now the norm. Sparrows and Anabs are also part of your inventory aswel. As you progress, some of these missiles also become avaible on your early aircraft
-Post vietnam- End of cold war. Now with advanced missiles like AMRAAM and such
Strangereal has SO many countries or they can make up countries up like in the past. A total war on the grandscale.

Ace Combat 6 was good, but way too short. I could play that in a couple days easy.

VR motion sickness gets better with time in my experience, my friends all struggle to play for mor than 5 minutes when they try my headset whereas I have no issues since I've used it so much

Started today, loving it, brings back fond memories of ps2 days with A/C zero - belkan war and the last boss fight with “pixy” in his ADFX-02 plane (has to google😂) with the mad laser on top and stuff 😅 took me a few minutes to get used to the planes handling as only played the battlefield series last few years and it’s all different,
I’m playing control mode on standard so the plane will roll about 120° either side to turn but not do a complete 360°unless you change to expert controls which gives you the whole ability to turn 180 then use the rudders up or down to turn, but I feel it’s abit scatty when in that mode,
loving the game tho and have about 6 hrs into it 🙌 still got the brilliant story line (don’t skip the cutscenes) and the mad ‘boss’ fights like the mammoth drone launcher craft 😅👌
I will head straight to the VR missions once this game is loaded in my Pro. Looking forward for this.

That mission was 1 of my top story moments in a game ever. the voice acting, music, and the overall look of everything was perfect. That day i became the best pilot ever in any AC game with tears in my eyes. RIP Chopper

Can’t wait for the release date and its on the list... will it give u a option to land ur fighter after a mission.... how realistic would it be trying to land a f18 on a carrier while its moving with the water or a runway at night and u can only use the landing lights.
Just to let people know there's is going to be 21 missions and 30 plus fighter jets the 2 most key important information you need to let people know in this video which you miss out plus 3 bonus missions and 3 new jets but is classified at this point.oh and it about bloody time both Xbox and ps4 have a game like this.

There is definitely PVP, 3vs3 and some other modes.
@Alec Glover There is PvP for sure. There has also always been a free flight mode in all AC games where you can freely fly around in any map of your choice. Not much to do but it's nice to just fly around without worrying about anything occasionally. I'm sure AC7 will have it too.

so many emblems i can't decide on which one to pick. wonder if project aces would pay homage to Phoenix/scarface 1 and Mobius 1 or any of the protagonist by allowing us to earn there emblem in a special mission or face them off as bosses? we may be facing Mobius 1 in an F-22 Raptor, Phoenix in an XFA-27, Garuda 1 in a F-15 eagle and Blaze in a F-14 tomcat. also some wonder if Lynx/Cheetah/Teacher emblem is in the game. Project Aces did work innocent aces right? i want to inspire fear in multiplayer like the Teacher in the movie and in the game.

One question some aircraft have more than flares and chaff such as an f 35 being able to jam radar and deploy a towed radar decoy how will this work and is this even in the game
Ecm pods is the way it jamming was handled in previous games, dont know if they'll mix things up in this one.

Does it have separate roll and elevator controls like Ace Combat 5. I forget which one I had but to turn right you would push right on a joystick and it would roll the then elevate for you. I instantly sold the game.
That's the expert control setup I believe, a lot of AC had that.
You mean the dogfight mode from Ace Combat assault horizon? Yeah that’s gone. And actually, expert controls are the normal controls from the previous games so pick that one to have full control of your craft

i wish u could do the (i dont remember how its called) cobra maneuver? snake? idk, the maneuver where ur flying, and u tilt upwards and just suddenly slow down so that bandits on ur 6 get infront of u and now ur behind them. without this move available, it would be extremely hard to counter attack enemies that are on ur 6, especially in multiplayer

It's classified as an Attacker, Ace Combat games have always had aircraft that have different roles, which are Fighters, Attackers, and Multi-Role aircraft. You can tell which aircraft fits what role simply by the nomenclature, ie the F in say the F-15/F-22 stands for Fighter, the A in the A-10 stands for attacker, and the F/A in the F/A-18F Super Hornet stands for Fighter/Attack, that's just one way to tell as you can also use the in-game descriptions to tell which aircraft fits what role

Are stealth jets actually stealth? Does the F-22 sensors actually out range other jets like it does in real life?
From past experience(AC 4,AC0),Stealth jets still hold their stealth value although not so significant.But no I don't think the sensors will work like in real life,though considering this one particular series has improved I won't be surprised if it has something different.
Lack of full VR is a, huge disappointment, though it's understandable
Remember that the VR is just experimental. This is their first real title since the hugely controversial Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. So they're being careful. Plus the limitations of consoles, along with the fact that there just isn't enough of a market on VR to justify a complete development. I'd wait til Ace Combat 8 and 9.
Also, if you're looking for a great fill VR supported title, look no further than Wipeout: Omega Collection! ;)

Do understand, the resolution and textures in VR are less than that in the standard game (to keep FPS around 120 to avoid visual lag and overwhelming nausea). To do the entire game in VR would cause them to have 2, separate, but full games on one disc. A re-release on the other hand, strictly VR only could be a possibility.

This definitely looks good, but if they hadn't fleeced everyone who played (Infinity) that would still be the ace combat we would all be playing, that game was so much fun, I've never wanted to meet the idiots who said yeah let's charge a dollar per play that sounds good, and slap the shit out of them so badly, and I'm a Destiny player!
I believe if it wasn't for Infinity we wouldn't have gotten AC7. At least not in this scale. Infinity was also a decent and fun game, but the monetization was so goddamn bad...

And a month later said, holy shit! Why the hell am I dumping this much money into a jet game on PS3?

I’ve been replaying all the old games in preparation for this one. I forgot how amazing ace combat 5’s story was. And i don’t think it was nostalgia, as I’ve played hundreds of games since then, and AC5 has one of the best stories and gameplay I’ve ever experienced. I hope AC7 lives up to the ace combat expectation.

I have only ever played Ace Combat: Assault Horizon before. I actually really enjoyed it, even though many people haven’t. I am buying this game in honor of my father, who himself was a Naval NFO for his nearly 30 year career in the United States Navy. He passed away last year in November, helping his father fly his private plane from California to Florida. That’s why I will be engraving my fathers name and Naval Callsign into my joystick.

I've played AC4 & AC5, but never got to get my hands on AC0. Haven't touched any of the latest Ace Combat titles, really wanted to try out Infinity. But I didn't have a PS3 at the time. Planning on upgrading my PC pretty soon, so I can get Ace Combat 7. I want to see a strong competitive scene really bad too
