The matter of petrification is complicated, because her dad's body is also petrified, and he's still alive. That could just be a consequence of their inhuman physiology, not any real-world chemical process. Frankly, science is altogether inapplicable to the Lands Between, which operates closer to how medieval alchemists believed the world worked. The celestial complexity of Ranni's plan, only to leave a mere corpse on a dilapidated spire combined with music creates emotions I never knew I had, most of them are sad.
Finding her body and connecting the dots to realize it was her was probably one of the most haunting things I've ever experienced in a game. I felt a moment of genuine sorrow for her. She was forced into being something she didn't want, and was willing to give up everything, including her own life to escape. She died alone and then watched everything crumble around her. Can't really blame her for being so defensive and standoffish towards the tarnished.
Welp yeah Ranni pretty much ending up giving everything to put an end to Marika I would say like a sort of revenge as well for what Marika did to her mother it's pretty evident that Ranni and her mother were really close. literally the tarnished dosen't kill Ranni and her mother we kill every other demigod except for them when we could've killed Rennala but chose not to I guess this is also why Ranni takes the Tarnished in as her consort after everything Ranni only has the Tarnished and Rennala left everyone's pretty much gone

so when you take the soul out of the body, the body turns to stone (cause not a living thing) and when you kill the body but leave the soul, then it rottens and body does not turn to stone - like the dead prince at the root of the tree and the cause for infections.

All the people claiming that she sits on a stable of books because she was bigger in her original body... You do know that she is nobility? And that she still completly follows her class norms, in the way she speaks, reacts and behaves. Her sitting/standing above her vassals is just a natural for her, and has nothing to do with the fact that she was bigger before. Looking down on nobility could have easily cost people their head, depending on how much they insit on their status. And the lands between are definitely no different.
This just all but confirmed an idea I’ve been running with about eyes and sealing them in Elden Ring. One represents the body and another the spirit. We see that Ranni’s spirit half, Melina, Mohg, and Messmer all have their left eyes sealed by one way or another. Ranni and Melina we know to be bodiless, and using the fact that Miquella had to divest himself of his flesh to get to the shadow lands, we can guess that Messmer has to be bodiless as well. Leaves Mohg of whom we don’t know whether they are bodiless or not, although he does materialize from a pool of blood. Even for Demigod powers that is a bit odd. I’ve been trying to look for examples in the opposite direction other than Ranni’s doll for a spiritless body having the right eye sealed. Only other example I found is that in the original story trailer it is Godwyn’s left eye that opens after he dies, and we don’t see his right. This video helps a ton because we can also see here that Ranni has her right eye but not her left, the opposite of what the trailer showed for Godwyn when he died which makes sense since Ranni is a spirit without a body, and Godwyn is a body without a spirit.
@@DanielFerreira-ez8qd Bro, look at the image in the time-stamp. They are identical carvings, in identical positions on the back. Listen, I don't wanna sound crazy, but here is a connection that's always blown me away, but I don't think anyone else sees it. If you look at Ranni's corpse, then look at her legs, *and then* , if you look at the floating debris from the meteor impact in Limgrave, they look like a similar pattern. Why does the debris float in that particular order? So does Radahn's (Edit: Not so much the pattern, just that his legs are disintegrated). I never thought that the Strongest Demigod would be bothered by some sand grinding his legs away. Why? Basically she's stating if you dont become either of those things or don't amount to anything than she'd rather you die or become a sacrifice that's not a good parent or a person it's a good thing Ranni did what she did and Marika is one of the Villians in this game
The comments be like:
90% All talking about Ranni's big ass in life before killing her Empyrean flesh.
70% theories of his physical appearance (Red hair implicated by the curse of the giants) and the death rune.
160% is some fun math
How does math work?

so when you take the soul out of the body, the body turns to stone (cause not a living thing) and when you kill the body but leave the soul, then it rottens and body does not turn to stone - like the dead prince at the root of the tree and the cause for infections.
You got that backwards, Godwyn’s body is still alive, his soul is what was killed
@@gaet1893 exactly... he is literally the source of "those who live in death" so his soul is dead but yet his body finds a way to persist.
She's still have that cake
Thank God these devs don't interact with any of this trash community surrounding their games.
Devs who put Goldmask Rags, Zamor Legwraps, Malenia's Greaves & Fia's small? Also the feet? Aswell as DS2 & DS3 Desert Pyromancer Set? Also Gwynevere in DS1? You might be delusional if you think that the fromsoft devs doesnt do fanservice.

This video will not stop me from marrying her
If anything, may this video inspire you to cherish her even more. :( _Remember what she's been through... and always be there for her._

@@MrDibaranot sure why everyone acts like she’s perfect when she literally betrayed her family and killed a relative for selfish reasons
@@MrDibaraBut she causes Godwyn to turn into the prince of death
Dang, ranni was kinda thick
It is sad that she has to go through all that for her to be free.
This video helps a ton because we can also see here that Ranni has her right eye but not her left, the opposite of what the trailer showed for Godwyn when he died which makes sense since Ranni is a spirit without a body, and Godwyn is a body without a spirit.
my queen. i wonder if we get to see ranni again in the dlc
We might get to see a relative of hers though. Judging from the dlc trailer
IT'S A CORPSE
WHY ARE YA'LL TALKING ABOUT HER "GLUTE"
Because they're literal degens.

.next question
Stone?
I knew someone said this.
that be all sir, have a good day
It´s as if they also set her on fire, or perhaps that´s what the strange flame effect of destined death on Malikeths weapon is meant to convey
One part burns(kills) the body(Ranni). The other burns the soul(Godwyn).
I love how accurate the curse mark is to a real centipede, creepy bastards lol
How beautiful she must have been in her original form only to destroy it.
Non corpse ranni is basically Malenia but if she doesn't have rot and was a Mage
1:07 obligatory "Insert finger but hole" joke.
Why the corpse it's so beefcake up?
1:17 Shouldn't Ranni's death-rune scar be the opposite of Godwyn's?
it is. It's the other side.
@@DanielFerreira-ez8qd Bro, look at the image in the time-stamp. They are identical carvings, in identical positions on the back. Ranni's should be in the bottom left, but it's the same as Godwyn's in the upper right. We know it's Godwyn in the image on the left, and it's supposed to be Ranni's corpse on the right.
@@PhotriusPyrelus The scars are mirrored horizontally only.
Interesting how it seems to have deathroot growing on the body in the concept art.
Reminds me of The Martyrdom of St. Cecilia by Maderno. An embarrassingly undervalued sculpture imo.
Most melancholy game.
Game character or not, nobody deserves to die like that. It reminds me of the mummies of Pompey.
It was very much her choice though. What are you talking about?
there are no mummies on pompeya, petrified and mummified are no the same thing
@@c4n0 I don't mean mummies like the Egyptian ones. They were burnt to death from the extreme heat, covered in ash and eventually mummified.
@@paulocarvalho6480 mummification is as process made by man, you cant naturally be "mummified", mummies have their insides taken out and replaced with something else, their skin is threated with chemicals so it doesnt fade, the ones in pompeya are PETRIFIED, they are converted to mineral stone by extremely hot melted stone
@@paulocarvalho6480 There is no mummified bodies on Pompeii, there is just holes the corpses left when they were covered by ashes, then the archaeologists fill them with plaster to reveal how they were positioned when they died. The bodies themselves were decomposed, leaving only bones.
she's got that red hair frfr
Kuchiyosee no jutsu: Body leaving soul living jutsu.
My main takeaway is that Ranni was caked af

Godskin: There's nothing I can do
Shaded castle. You should check out underneath the ground. ;)
"Would."
The way Godwyn was killed looks so brutal
Somehow the face reminds me of King Tut's mummy
The gem around her chest area is oddly similar to the godskin apostle's jewel.
3 things I gleaned from this
The first:Ranni was tall
The second: one of her eyes was closed
The third: she seems to have had her fathers red hair
Even then she had a bakery
The roundtable hold theme tho
This is sad😭
Lesson learned, skincare
Smash, next question.
Imagine what Ranni felt when her body burned with the rune of dead.
Nothing, because by that time she'd have probably transferred her soul into the doll.
@@00vondough00yeah thats true whereas godwyn felt everything 😂
As far as i know, there's noway to tranfer your soul without your body dying first, so im very sure Ranni had to "die" first.
@@darkunor6687 so she probably felt everything just as godwyn did only shes not a zombie like godywn
my Moon Princess was also Flat chested in her original body too, Glorious!!
her and her bro have matching feet
1:09 Even in death she has de dumpy 😂
Listen, I don't wanna sound crazy, but here is a connection that's always blown me away, but I don't think anyone else sees it.
If you look at Ranni's corpse, then look at her legs, *and then* , if you look at the floating debris from the meteor impact in Limgrave, they look like a similar pattern. Why does the debris float in that particular order?
So does Radahn's (Edit: Not so much the pattern, just that his legs are disintegrated). I never thought that the Strongest Demigod would be bothered by some sand grinding his legs away.
Why? I suspect it has to do with Fate, and how they're all tied together, with their crumbling legs as a sign.
It's possible that Rennala's children all had some kind of disability relating to their legs and feet, since we never see any of them walk or stand up.
@@Solibrae First gen Albinaurics also have those!
@@Solibrae excuse you Rykard can walk just fine with his skinny legs
