    My mother has had angina for years...every once in a while she will have massive tightness in her chest and she says her heartbeat is so strong she can almost hear it, like its beating out of her chest. When this happens she immediately takes 1 aspirin and sits down upright. If it still persists she walks slowly around the house and takes another aspirin and sits down again...she remains calm, and after a while, the pain usually goes away. She has a friend who is very old and has had angina for 30 years and he does the same thing. This is not medical advice since everyone is different, but I just thought I would share her experience. I always tell her to call me when this happens and I will usually go by her and talk with her in a relaxed voice. She says being relaxed is key.

      I have stable angina also, and when I have an attack, usuallly when walking up a hill, I just stop and withina minute or 2 it is gone, I have yet to take any nitroglycerin, it goes away on it's own.. I had a heart attack last March and had a stent put in my right coronary artery as it was 100 percent blocked, I do have a 70 percent blocked circumflex and I am asssuming this is where my angina is coming from.. SO yes, the aspirin and slow walking and remaining calm usually takes care of it.. I take plavix and aspirin every day anyways, so to chew another couple is no big deal.. and your mom is right, being relaxed is definitely key..

    I love that assertion: -"feelings of anxiety" is a symptom of angina. You dont say! It reminds me of someone writing that a "symptom of acute IBS is depression"-too right it is if you are afraid of eating because of what might happen. That can be depressing. If you think you have angina you are likely to have feelings of anxiety! Not so much a symtom of angina as a result of angina I'd have thought. Any fears of getting something ghastly like angina is likely to create "feelings of anxiety". More seriously I feel there is a classic medical disconnect here, underestimating the psychological factor in worsening health both in diagnosis and treatment. Procedures, treatment diagnosis all have their necessary function of course but it should not be forgotten that anxiety and stress are major factors in weakening health and lowering resistance to disease.

    Iv been suffering with angina for 2 years now and I want to end my life. Doctor's will not treat me or even attempt to help me. They didt give me any info about angina. I was alone and afraid I was going to die and the doctors could care less. I feel we should come together and sue them all for making us suffer like this.

      Honestly I feel like I have angina, I have a sharp pain in my left side of chest that only last for like 10-40 seconds, and I become really paranoid as if I'm having a heart attack. Do you as well feel this or is a completely different thing.

      Dear Will,
      I am sorry to hear about your pain. But according to our guidelines, if you have chest pain on exertion (Stable angina), the treatment is nitroglycerin, aspirin and beta blockers. Your doctor will help you with these medications. Leading a healthy lifestyle helps. That is all.
      Take care

    My nana had an angina attack because her tounge was swollen due to an allergic reaction to a new medication, so she couldn't get enough oxygen to her heart. Also she has heart problems anyway which doesn't help obviously. I hope she gets better, she's currently in hospital 🙁😥

    I did a ECG and it was normal.I self diagnosed myself as Angina pain.I have all these symptoms and yesterday I had a angina attack for about 15-20 minutes I don't know what to do. I have no medications and I am super scared to go to the doctor. I couldn't sleep as when I lay down the chest pain increased and I couldn't breathe.

    • @SeeSaintZee
      @SeeSaintZee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Probably panic attacks or anxiety attacks. Same symptoms like heart attack or angina...
      The more you worry the note it will last. I used to have severe chest pain that hurt more when I'm scared thinking it's heart attack. 3 4 ECG tests done. Heart is normal. But I was hospitalized for depression and severe anxiety attacks. After taking anti depressants and anxiety meds I don't gave chest pains anymore. Also I stopped thinking chest pains are heart attacks..
      If ECG is normal then it's could be panic or anxiety attacks. Go to a psychiatrist who will prescribed you anxiety meds

I am Going on third week since it began hurting andI visited 2 days ago my main care provider she It might be psychological because I stress too much. Went to doctor's yesterday for been having chest pain (admittedly localised) feeling of anxiety, etc. and she has said it is just excessive stomach acid...... no other tests or anything done and given me tablets to take for stomach.... if pain still there after a month to go back... not much good if progresses to heart attack next week. Would have thought she would have suggested some tests just to be on the safe side.

Standard tests and nuclear stress test have given no results whereas 6 years ago i was told i had cardiac syndrome x . a predominantly female heart condition that was not detectable by these standard test methods. The attacks had ceased years ago and are now back with a vengeance and cardiologists here don't have any resolve. Its dominating my life it's debilitating. Im constantly sent home with a clean bill of health only too endure more Attacks . i can have up to 8 or ten on bad nights. Sleep has become a fearful time. Can u suggest anything? @@UmarAli-el8et earlier days at school theres this one time it was after that moment that happened(what I said at my first comment) yea after that I was hyperventilating so bad It felt like I was super out of breath maybe because of the recitation but whatever then my chest started to hurt when I breath deeply. The clinic didn't help me they just kicked me out of there (we don't talk about that there's more toxic sht that happened there.) It was a bad experience. :/ sure that was angina right? Good thing it wasn't really that worst but it was stiff and the anxiety is just adding up -_- (excuse me from my grammar)

      I am sorry. It is very hard to deal with at any time but when it is so unexpected it is worse. Being your Mom's son, you will find the strength to manage this awful time. Courage.
