According to an interview with the cast,, When the scene of azulas breakdown was recorded, everyone left the room except her voice actor. She actually drew upon some actual trauma from her own life to basically have a real emotional breakdown. That's why the screams sounded so genuine, because they were.
@@coolkid7377 i didn't know that. I love that I've watched the whole series at least a dozen times and yet I can still learn new things about the show.

The final scene with Azula is always so chilling to me. She did terrible things and nothing excuses that, but it makes me a little sad when people don’t acknowledge that a girl is having an actual mental breakdown. It’s heart breaking. When Katara looks away, that was the feeling I had as well. You don’t want to watch it.
Her mother didn't have enough power within the family to do much and she struggled in addition because she didn't know how to parent such a bright yet slightly sociopathic child. Mom gets banished or killed (well I know the answer but don't wanna spoilerize for others) and all Ozai wants Azula for as is a tool for his own ambitions, so he downright praises and pushes the WORST parts of her. She has had conditional praise, but she's never had love as a daughter. To me the saddest thing she says is when she is having the 'mirror conversation'. Now, she's only 14 officially (even though she looks 2 to 6 years older imho) but this would still be sad if she was 20. She says "Fear is the only reliable way"... that's how bleak her life really has been. With this philosophy she downright bullies at times even her closest friends (and to the extent the friendship was real I think it was based on familiarity and time spent since childhood) Ty Lee and Mai. And it works until she fails to realize the "power of love" and also just how much SHE needs them. There's undoubtedly some Karma here and so I can't feel too bad for her. But Justice for Azula would demand not only 'spanks' but also lots of the 'hugs' she never got. She needs help, and I hope someday she gets it.
When Azula was losing her mind after being neutralized, the look on Katara’s face makes me think she was recalling what Toph said at the western air temple.
@Lady Seashell Bikini Mostly right, but her mother WAS puzzled and a bit appalled by her behavior. This is because kids like Azula are rather rare. We are talking a child who would probably have tortured insects or small animals not once (to see what would happen or as an accident like with normal children) but many times. She obviously liked psychologically tormenting her brother and some of her other friends. In older times she might be considered to have been 'born evil'. Such kids can (usually) be parented but it takes two parents and a mixture of discipline and love and Azula got neither, esp from her father and she probably despised her mother not only because she got less praise from Ursa, but also because she seemed weak and possibly fearful.
That moment with Azula and the Ba Sing Se reveal at the end of s02ep14 are my two favourite moments in the entire show (at the top of my mind). I get chills every time I see or think of them.
8:12 This scene still breaks my heart each and every single time I watch it. Azula was a terrible, horrible person. She would have set the world aflame and laughed over the broken carcass of her brother. BUT SHE WAS FOURTEEN. She was so ruined and twisted by her childhood and by her nation, driven to insanity by the expectations placed upon her. Azula was bad and yet I can't help but feel so terribly sorry for her.
She never saw her brother as 'dead'. Remember, he's lying there , helpless, on the ground. She COULD finish him off, Katara can't stop her. Instead she wants 'little Zuzu' to be seen to by the family physician instead of some waterbending peasant girl. That shows some feelings for him, even if it's just familiarity and the need for a person to feel superior to. So no, she wouldn't be laughing over HIS dead body, but I fully agree with the rest of your comment.
@@remo27 What makes you think she didn't want to make him suffer even more by watching Katara die in front of him? You know, make him see that his self sacrifice was in vain. This was Azula at her most unhinged. Even if she still cared in the slightest about Zuko, she was in no condition to act on it. If anything, she would have finished Zuko off immediately out of rage if she still cared about him just to silence that thought. The fact that she didn't is more evidence that she didn't care than that she did.
Ty Lee joining the Kyoshi Warriors is such a journey of self acceptance for her. because we know from The Beach she was so insecure over having a bunch of identical sisters, and now she has a home with, a bunch of warriors who all wear the same uniform. also, the music, the music is so amazing. Iroh playing the Tsungi Horn was a perfect capstone musically
Honestly, I still wish Azula had someone like Iroh in her life to show her genuine love. That her mother showed her the same love she showed Zuko. Her story was really sad. Because while she definitely an amazing antagonist, she was also an emotionally manipulated child who wasn't given a chance to just be a normal kid.
Notice how everything comes full circle in the end. The last bending move Aang does is the very first one Katara taught him; the push and pull water technique. Also, Zuko ended up completing his mission of bringing the Avatar back to the fire nation, not as a pridoner, but as a friend. Also, Firelord Sozin and Avatar Roku were also friends, and now Firelord Zuko and Avatar Aang are friends.
Something I noticed in Azula breathing fire after being defeated is how utterly tiny it is while still being boosted by the comet. Even the Fire Nation Army Soldiers have huge blasts right now and Azula is breathing less fire than Iroh would have on a regular day. She really was completely done, not even composed enough to be able to truly bend as soon is it really set in how low she sunk.
Are we not going admire the fact that Suki mostly took control of an entire airship, figured out sail it using the panels by herself in order to help complete the mission. In the words of Sokkas father "That some girl."
I love Azula as a character. Legitimately a mix of to-the-bone, unapologetic, biological evil, and sympathetic, misguided teenager. She is very much both.
We finally made it y'all! Congrats Bukola and Jenny on finishing the series! Thanks squad for letting me edit these last few episodes! #LastFirstTime Now on to Korra!!!!
Azula gets put into a *mental home after this, with a straight jacket and everything. As for *Zuko's mother,* the answer lies in *the books* which are set after this and before Legend of Korra.

The last episode was called the avatar and the 1st episode was called the boy in the iceberg. The pose at the end was so demonstrative of how much ang has grown into his role.
I always feel so bad for Azula, she is a product of her environment, her birth and nation....like she is evil and has to be held accountable but really she was never given a chance to be something else.
One of my favorite things about Azula vs Zuko and Katara is that Katara doesn’t actually get involved until Azula cheats by attacking Katara who is at that time a spectator. If Azula had thrown her lightning at Zuko he would have channeled it back at her and won the fight which Azula at least sort of understood since she did decide to try to hamper him by throwing her lightning at Katara instead, it’s also possible she did that in order to try and faze the then unflappable Zuko but either way it was a desperate ploy that goes against the honor of the Agni Kai. So she lost the Agni Kai to Zuko and then was ultimately taken down by Katara allowing both of them to have their own personally important victories against Azula.
I love how you used that music for the post discussion as well. Listening to it will always make me feel both very happy and a little sad. It cuptures perfectly how most fans feel after finishing the show.
The most satisfying end to a story. The entire series had a question... how could he follow his principles AND defeat Ozai? And... he did. What a great lesson for everyone.
Fun fact: Azula has NEVER beaten Katara 1v1. In the Season 2 finale when they last fought, Katara had the upper hand and had immobilized Azula with her octopus form. She would've probably beaten her had Zuko not showed up and freed her. Katara's probably the most consistently underestimated master of their element in the show.

Well done, girls. This cartoon proves once again that one must live together without wars, all nations must live peacefully. Even looking at you, girls, you are all of different races, but despite this you have united - this is the hope that the people will live openly and without conflicts. When we are united, we are the "Avatar", and no one will defeat us, no matter what.
what would have happened if all the avatars had learned to master all the rare masteries and also learn to master all mastery techniques and also learn to block chi and also learn to master all fighting techniques and also learn to master all styles of fighting and also learn to master all martial arts and also learn to master all weapons and also learn to master all the powers of the spirits
I am so eager to see you guys watch Korra. I love The Last Airbender, but Korra is even better, at least once you get to the third season. For both series it is the third season that is best. Bacoloa: "He's about to shut this thing down!" Another Korra plot twist introduced. Jenny: "Last time we'll be seeing Aang." Well, sort of. Korra knows how to do it.
Saying Korra is better is such a hot take ngl. Id put Season 3 Korra over each individual ATLA Season, but overall ATLA is the better show in my personal opinion. But man, with how good S3 of Korra was, I can not blame you
Interestingly, the first word spoken in the show is "It's" and the last word spoken is "Perfect". A coincidence, but Avatar: The Last Airbender is perfect.

I am actually really sad avatar ended like that bc it felt soooo goood especially the music ooof
Hopefully, ya'll still look at your old video comments. I wanted to ask about the mic you used and the device you have wrapped around it?
what would have happened if all the avatars had learned to master all the rare masteries and also learn to master all mastery techniques and also learn to block chi and also learn to master all fighting techniques and also learn to master all styles of fighting and also learn to master all martial arts and also learn to master all weapons and also learn to master all the powers of the spirits
Not the reaction I expected for a finale! Could've been better
I am so eager to see you guys watch Korra. I love The Last Airbender, but Korra is even better, at least once you get to the third season. For both series it is the third season that is best.
Bacoloa: "He's about to shut this thing down!"
Another Korra plot twist introduced.
Jenny: "Last time we'll be seeing Aang."
Well, sort of. Korra knows how to do it.
Saying Korra is better is such a hot take ngl. Id put Season 3 Korra over each individual ATLA Season, but overall ATLA is the better show in my personal opinion.
But man, with how good S3 of Korra was, I can not blame you
OMG they kissed that was so lovely 😲😲😲😘😘😍😍
Interestingly, the first word spoken in the show is "It's" and the last word spoken is "Perfect". A coincidence, but Avatar: The Last Airbender is perfect.
Fire Nation
Earth Kingdom
Water Tribe
Air Temple
Great reaction yall!!
Reaction starts @4:07
We are waiting for the Rick and Morty reaction, squad!
Legend of korra next
Aang hit Ozai's factory reset.
Why didn't you put the part where Zoka and Aang do the counterattacks ?
Why does everyone say did he take his powers before he does in the show it’s like they’ve seen it before they actually watched it
Cause it's too predictable
R u so sure cuz I didn’t realize it when I watched it for the first time with my cousin when this shows season finale happened
Saludó desde la República Dominicana excelente vídeo
YESS
Y'all gotta remember: AZULA IS 14 YEARS OLD. That is too much to put on a 14 year old. She was supposed to have a redemption arc, but they didnt have another season
You better watch Legend of Korra as well
looking forward to seeing you guys react to the legend of korra
