9 years ago today I went online to look for a tutorial on how to fold napkins for the new years eve dinner I was about to host. This video came up and I sat there watching and admired the detailed tutorial and slowly getting mesmerized, not knowing what hit me. I don´t experience tingles so it wasn´t this big epiphany that happened. I just couldn´t look away or change to another video and sat through it even though I still had so, so much to do and prepare for the evening. And then the video was over and I felt so calm. I didn´t think about it anymore and got on with the preparations. The next day I kept thinking of the video and that was the first time I even registered the whispering! Like I said above, that was exactly 9 years ago and I can´t count the many sleepless nights or anxious/sad/grieving moments soothed by ASMR videos. I´m so grateful that this video came up when I looked up napkin folding. So grateful for the supportive Community that surrounds ASMR, so grateful for Maria and for all the creators, the time and effort spent, the love going into it, the encouragement and compassion pouring out of it. I have always wanted to express my gratitude to Maria and often started to type in the comment and never went through with it, thinking it too sentimental and too much in general. But I am grateful and I want to express it. So...here I go clicking on enter. Happy new year everybody!

I wish Maria could read all of these, but you know theres just no way...she gets thousands of comments every week; but we read each others, and we are with ya Martina! I also will still leave comments on her vids that are many years old! 😍

I love this, I too discovered Maria and asmr in a very similar manner, I was looking up whispered relaxing voices to help for sleep (not knowing asmr was even a thing) and omg when I discovered the asmr community I was hooked and yes Maria was one the first videos I ever saw too! Very curious though, did you end up using any of her napkin ideas ? 😄

I can't believe this video is almost ten years old. It's still just as good as the first time I saw it. More than that, Maria could put this exact video out tomorrow and it would still make perfect sense. Only maybe the lint roller would make a few appearances :). Thank you, Maria, for always staying true to the real essence of ASMR. I truly appreciate what you do for us all!

I just want to say that I thank you very much for taking the time to do these entertaining, educating videos that relax and soothe people's stress. You are a beautiful person on the outside and seem to be a beautiful person on in the inside. Your videos in my opinion reflect that. Thank you again and God Bless You and all your endeavors. :D

Maria, I hope you'll read this.
First of all, I absolutely adore you, and watch your videos every night religiously to fall asleep without being scared of sleeping alone.
But as it came to my mind today, I thought I'd point it out so that it'll help you some way 🤗 I find myself scrolling through your videos and looking for the *old* ones. The videos starting from 2016 and before. I don't know why, but I can't fall asleep to the more recent ones, even though they're better in quality. I watch those videos in doing other things, and I LOVE them, but the old ones are the absolute best to fall asleep to.(esp. the one with Asus and old ring collection) Needless to say, I love all your videos, and try to leave a like on each one in hopes it will return my gratitude for your service as I'm a broke college student) I hope you have a wonderful day, year and the rest of your life! Imagine me sending you warmth and love every night I listen to you 🌷💜

I came across Maria about 12 years ago just randomly. She is the one that taught me about ASMR. I always experienced the tingles even as a child from movies ,Bob Ross and Yoga by Priscilla Patrick, but never knew what the name was or if anyone else experienced them. I shared asmr with my children and they love it. It helps them relax and sleep and I don't have to struggle to get them to bed.

I struck gold with this vid!! It's a 'new' Maria one for me. I think I saw this once years ago. I have her other napkin vid on a playlist, but this one hasn't come up in suggestions

A friend of mine just recently told me about ASMR. Tonight he gave me the link to this video. I have so much stress and anxiety in my life I was amazed at just how much of a positive, relaxing effect your video had on me. I'm going to start using your channel every day. Thank you so much.

Everything you do is so soothing!! What did I ever do before your videos!?! They’re even more helpful to me now that I have an infant and have a hard time relaxing. THANK YOU!!

I really love your old videos ♥️ I’m really not a fan of all the high tech equipment and ear tot ear microphone. Please do more video’s “back to basic”

Have you ever been angry at anyone for a second in your life? I swear, you seem like the nicest and most gentle person on the planet!

Please make this one available on iTunes etc! These old ones put me to sleep better than the new ones but I can’t find them listed. I listen to the toffee crackle one ALLLLLLL the time. And folding and ironing.

You are, by far, my favorite whisperer. You are the first whisperer I started watching and I can never seem to find anyone else as calming as you. Thank you.
