Last Chances (2021) - An LGBTQ+ Short Film

- Hello everyone! My name is Sonny Martin and I was actually one of the co-Stars in this short film titled Last Chances. To clarify this was a small project undertaken by a few camp counselors from Camp YATC and the camp director Shawn Ryan also directed and produced the shorts. I posted this to only have a credit for auditions and I figured it wouldn’t get attention outside of that.

Wow ok I am genuinely shocked by how many views this has already gotten. So to clarify, this is indeed a short film made by myself and an extremely small group who made 6 shorts over a period of 10 days. My name is Sonny Martin, and I’m the guy with the curly hair and black shirt :). I work at a theatre summer camp and a few of the counselors stayed behind to work on this small project we called ‘Real Reels’. I originally only posted this to have a link for auditions, but it seems to have gotten more attention than intended. Thank you everyone for the kind words and i will definitely add some more info when I get the chance!
Hi Sonny. I'm surprised that you are surprised. When you title it an LGBTQ+ Short Film, you get views. Loads of TH-cam viewers are gay or are interested in gay youth experiences. This was a really cute film. Congrats!

That was me in college with my roommate, 55 years ago....ha. Had the shakes so bad, then I made the move, and it went all through college. Good times. Gotta go for it, or one looses so many chances. Made a move to a college freshman, when I was 40..... Here it is 30 years later with 2 wonderful grown children, and the most wonderful 48 year old now. Our lives have been fabulous. YOU just have to live YOUR life. Good luck to all.

there was no gay panic.
That was just about the most natural unaffected kiss two people could possibly make with a camera in your face ! Nice development buildup to a moment that didn’t try to fake cliched embarrassment. It was just two people at ease in a moment.
Was a very sweet short film. Both of u were innocently cute .
I was delighted that the 2 boys weren't embarassed or uncomfortable after they kissed. They seemed pleased with themselves and with each other, as they should be.
@@joyceomeara9719 after all two boys kissing has never been an embarrassing . A natural momentum with a grace is what makes those moves precious.
@PrivilegedCriticism there are many situations where 2 boys kissing could result in embarrassment or discomfort. As I said, it was nice that these boys were so comfortable with their surroundings/friends and with each other.

Genuine actors, realism conveyed throughout the scene. Easily the best & most relatable I’ve seen

I'm not gay but I also don't have anything against any sexual attitude or preference. Who am I to judge anyone for what they willingly do with one another. I don't think anyone has the right to judge anyone else when it comes to any sexual preference of any kind ever no matter what!!!!! Good luck to everyone on God's green earth!!!!!

This was such a sweet story. So believable, so natural and authentic. It's one of the worst feelings imaginable wanting to kiss a member of the same sex but not knowing how they will react or even if they feel the same way. I think this film captured it so well
Very sweet. In 1976 I would have been the nervous boy with the chocolate. But sadly no hot curly headed friend leaned in to share the taste. This film is very sweet. Keep making them.

This is very well done, realistic and sweet (without being saccharin). One question: Why is there someone on the couch next to them? 1:46 For the same reason they're on the floor? Apparently, it's a sleepover. Their conversation doesn't wake the girl(?) on the couch, and her presence doesn't inhibit them. The "party lights" on the wall are a nice touch, especially as a backdrop to their kiss.

Please, remember and reaffirm being bisexual is absolutely alright. Being bisexual is beautiful. There is NOTHING wrong with you being bisexual that you should feel ashamed and afraid of. If your mom is homophobic, then it may be best to not come out to them, so you can remain most crucially safe and sound. However, if you know she is not, then go for it! Nevertheless, establish a good LGBTQ+/LGBTQ+-friendly group to support you, whether that is family; friends; teachers; anybody LGBTQ+ you know;etcetera. You deserve to be accepted and embraced for being bisexual, don't let anyone so wrongly deceive you otherwise💓🏳️🌈.
