Oh! And I forgot to mention - the reason why the dye didn't take to my full head when I went ginger this time around is becauseeeeeeee.... ya gurl *_still_* scared of the bleach! lol Also, after my dance with color in 2016, I dyed my hair jet black so that also contributed to this color not taking because it couldn't overpower the black without bleach. I haven't dyed my hair since 2019, so my roots and all the new growth since then is what was able to turn ginger with no issues!
Your color is one of the best I’ve ever seen. I’ve had my fair share of color and it eventually damaged my hair overtime even will extreme hair care (deep conditioning once a week, gentle detangling twice a week, moisturizing every day) so no matter what, my hair hates color lol so I have to live vicariously through y’all!
@@sharnice.akeitah I think my hair is just weak. I have fine soft hairs that just can’t take chemicals. My strands are very very fine mostly. I think maybe if I used 20 vol developer and I went to a color that isn’t very light I would be kinda okay. But anything lighter than a color 3 or 4 would 100% damage my hair in the long run. Despite GREAT hair care.
New Subscriber ❤Happy 10 Year Anniversary!! I just two strand twisted mine to start my loc journey!!! I’m so excited. I just turned 55 and it’s a chapter in my life where I’m willing and ready to try new things. Your hair is gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing.
I am going to loc my hair in October, appt set. Funny enough, l dont really want long locs. I just want it to be in a Bob .....like shoulder length there about. So far your hair is the only one i have seen this length that still looks good.
ayeeeee I’m excited for the start of your journey! I have also considered cutting my hair into a bob - it’s a really cute length! and thank you so much for the compliment ☺️
I’m Getting Microlocs but this video made we want to go back to Palm rolled like bc yours are 🔥!!!!!! GIRL !!! I had Palm rolled locs 2 years ago but didn’t like my parts so I combed them out after 2 months 😩 ….
Absolutely agree the cascading flow on you with the ginger is indeed 🔥👌🏾. Great look!!! Just starting my loc journey and can’t wait to get a lil length going. God bless
So far I love it and I do feel that the length will start to show little sooner than later. Step by step, day by day though right! Anyway appreciate the content really good to see your journey and the beautiful outcome gives us all hope 😂.
For real! Your lessons learned are very insightful. I am nearly 7 months along. It has been quite an experience thus far, but I’m enjoying the journey. You are so gorgeous and so are your locs. ❤🎉
Eyyy NYC girlie with the locs ❤ happy anniversary to your locs. I really enjoyed this video. I cut mine in October 23 after two years loc’d. Been wanting to start them again but with the knowledge I know now and a bit bigger loc size. Just scared of starting on hair shorter than my last set plus worried about finding a job with them.
yurrrrrrr! #NYCGirlies ❤️ Thanks so much for watching! I cut off all my hair before I started. It was definitely scary but I embraced it. Nothing worth having is going to be easy, and girl! if that job doesn’t want you because of your hair, I can only imagine what the job culture is like. You don’t need em anyway!
Happy 10 year locanniversary 🎊🎈🎉🥳🍾🥂 your locs look so beautiful loving the two tone color ❤🥰👍🏾👏🏾🤗 and I’m a new subscriber by the way and today is my 10 year locanniversary as well !
thanks hunnie ❤️ Before I locked my hair, I would say my hair type was 4C. I’ve always had really tight curls and lots of shrinkage when I’d wash my hair. If you’re interested in locking your hair, I would suggest looking into different loc types (sisterlocs, freeform, etc.) to see what can be a good fit.
thanks honey! ❤ I used the L’Oreal HiColor in Copper: amzn.to/4b0vazy For hair my length, I used 15 boxes when I planned to dye my entire head copper. Then, I use 3 boxes to touch up my roots. I also used Volume 50 Developer: amzn.to/3WLCDhV Let me know if you end up trying the color! 🥰
My hair is mainly 4C. I grew up with a very thick and full head of hair. My instagram is @sharnice.akeitah (also linked in the description box) - I don’t have a post that shows the process specifically 😫 I was a lil shy back then and had to adjust after i cut my hair off to start them lol BUT you can see growth over time via my instagram page
Of course! It's the L'Oreal HiColor Highlights in Copper: amzn.to/4b0vazy I also used Volume 50 Developer to achieve this look: amzn.to/3WLCDhV Thanks so much for watching ❤
I would say not really. I only really feel the weight of my hair when it’s wet but on a regular day-to-day, it’s fine. I feel like your body adjusts to the weight of your hair (if any) so you don’t really realize it. Also bra strap length for 3 years is a 👏🏽BIG 👏🏽 DEAL! I see you sis 😌😏
@sharnice.akeitah thank you I've been natural for 12 years and my hair naturally grows fast and I had a locitian since day 1...but I am trying to get like you
Yes - when my hair is wet, it does get heavy but it isn't unbearable. I feel like my. body adjusts in that moment. On a day-to-day my hair doesn't feel heavy.

I’m curious - were you ever able to figure out why the color was harsh on your hair? This is such an interesting take!

Looooove the locs! I was wondering what you would say your hair density/thickness is. I'm on the fence on getting locs cus my hair is so thin
thanks hunnie ❤️

It would be thicker . I am a witness
Beautiful, Beautiful Locs❤

🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gorgeous! Did you start with small or medium?
Thank you! I started medium-sized
I love this color !!!
thanks so much darling ❤
What did/do you use to deep condition your locs?
I use the Aussie Miracle Moist line - here is the link to the deep conditioner: amzn.to/49Knfov
@@sharnice.akeitah I will always love Aussie!
Gorgeous woman.... please can you give me all the details about the hair color🙏🏾. So pretty😢

Is your hair fine or coarse? In the 3 or 4 family? And do you have ig where it shows your beginning process of growing your Locs?

Loc goals 😭😍 At what age did you start your loc journey?
awww thank you! I started them at 20 years old
Hi are your locs heavy? I have been loc for 3 years and minds are near bra strap.i want that length but affraid it would be heavy
I would say not really. I only really feel the weight of my hair when it’s wet but on a regular day-to-day, it’s fine. I feel like your body adjusts to the weight of your hair (if any) so you don’t really realize it.

how many locs do you have?
I have 103 locs
Is your hair heavy when wet? Does it hurt your neck? I'm debating between locks your size or microlocs.
Yes - when my hair is wet, it does get heavy but it isn't unbearable. I feel like my. body adjusts in that moment. On a day-to-day my hair doesn't feel heavy.
🔥🔥🔥
thank you!!!
You are past tailbone, you are hip length ❤
