Girl!!! You read my mind! I seen your 10 year anniversary video and the next video I looked for was the wash and re-twist day! Once my hair is wet commitment is definitely there after that…
awwww thank you so much for this compliment ❤️ I sincerely appreciate the love! Please feel free to subscribe and stick around! My channel also covers fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content so there will be a little something for everyone ☺️
If only wash day was as quick as it seemed in the video 😂 Has product build-up ever been an issue for you? And how often do you retwist? I started my daughter's locs when she was 6; and have been maintaining them myself. She is now 13yrs old. We LOVE the length and color of your locs
lol i know right! Yes - it was an issue for me earlier on. When I started my loc journey, I used to use beeswax to twist my hair and it was way too heavy for me so I had to be mindful of that. Loc detoxes are good for clearing any build up too. I retwist once a month - sometimes once every 6 weeks. I wash every two weeks though since I have seborrheic dermatitis to help minimize the flare ups. Thanks so much for tuning in ❤️❤️
Retwist came out looking amazing 👍🏾👏🏾🤗❤️ I definitely agree since my locs got super long as soon as that water hit them they are heavy as ever my arms be super tried after washing, oiling, and retwisting and I have also become super tender headed as well.
thanks darling! and yes! once you’re in it, you’re in it 😂😂😂 but definitely a labor of love. When I do opt to go to a loctician, it’s great BUT ain’t nobody gonna love on YOUR hair like YOU can.
@@sharnice.akeitah You are welcome anytime 🤗. I definitely agree I use to go to loctician the first few years or so and they maintained my locs really good each and every time I went and now I haven’t been back to the person who started my locs in a few . I plan to go back one day to see how much he will charge me now since they are waist length locs . Till then I plan do my own locs once or twice a year for free 99.
Beautiful Locs! Did you do C parting when you started your locs? Also, did you two strand twist or coils when you started? I’m seriously thinking about starting mine’s and I love the size and parting… everything about your locs. Thanks for sharing :)
hello! and thank you - I honestly can’t remember what parting the loctician did when she started my hair (I truly had no clue what was going on lol) BUT I started with coils and, in the beginning, I loved how the coils served as a cute style while I started my journey. Wishing you the best of luck on your loc journey ❤️ always happy to answer any additional questions you may have
You should be careful with oils if you have seborrheic dermatitis. It’s often caused by Malassezia yeast. Now everyone has Malassezia yeast on their scalp but some people have an improper immune response causing dandruff. It should be noted that Malassezia yeast thrives on lipids (oils).
Yes I 100% agree. I’ve been using the dry scalp treatment by Living Proof (linked in the caption) and it’s been great for keeping my scalp moisturized. I am still trying to find a balance though because I have some areas that are thinner due to the SD flare ups and I know from experience that Wild Growth Oil has helped that - so still working to figure it out
@@sharnice.akeitahI also would try Kumbocha Rinse by Paul Mitchel , I get huge flakes at the front , and sides of my scalp and OMG when I say NONE and it’s day 7 since I even cleaned my hair . Try it out, I bought the whole Lavender / Mint line
Oh wow I did not know they had long bonnet attachments. I will have to keep that in mind in the next few years. 🤔 or should I get it now, my locs are almost mid back?

What products to use to moisturize if you have it then?
