One of the reasons I adored Joey and Pacey so much, is because of Joey’s genuine love for him. It never felt like she was actually in love with Dawson. She idolised him because of all the things he represented in her life. Dawson was the kind of guy she thought she should be with. Pacey taught her to love unconditionally. It wasn’t because we liked Pacey more as a character that we wanted them to end up together, it was because watching them made us believe in True Love. Together, they were magic. They blurred the lines of fiction and reality. We never felt like we were watching a story, it genuinely felt like we were watching a couple who were completely besotted with each other. I liked Joey and Dawson as friends, but the whole soulmate thing felt like it was constantly being forced on the audience, which made it less believable.
@@167logan YES! I say that all the time. We here them talk about Dawson being there for Joey when her mom died and they use the word soulmate all the time, but we never really witness them being there for each or even seeming like they love each other
The love triangle was exhasperating and not interesting at all. It was way too much back and forth, like they squeezed that topic way too much for it to be catching...And I also feel like once they put Pacey and Joey together, the show finally made some sense. Their romance was the only truly interesting one. Every other romance in the series was very superficial and lacked any meaning in my opinion. I felt like the writers only used them to fill in the gaps. While Joey and Pacey's romance just fit in very well, and they had very goot chemistry. I am not sure if the actors themselves had chemistry or their characters, but they definately were the only ones who catched my interest.
Pacey deserved better. Jen deserved WAY better. Dawson and Joey deserved each other. Both spoilt, entitled, needy, pathetic brats that were so dependent on each other that they couldn't hold on to something better for themselves. Both selfish. Both give up or make others feel like shit (Joey's treatment of Jen, Dawson's treatment of Pacey LONG before Pacey "stole" Joey from a guy who not only didn't even wanna be with her, but didn't want PACEY to "win" her because in Dawson's mind? Pacey wasn't worthy of anything that was either labelled "Dawson's" or of even being HAPPY! Even though inside? I think he KNEW that Pacey was much a better suited fit for his so-called "soulmate". Dawson and Joey always compare everything to each other, hold each other back, make each other angry, sad, bitter, resentful, jealous, brinkering on INSANE! I think they were content for what? 10 minutes in one episode? Then it was all about "will they/won't they, oh look they're smili....nevermind! Oh look, they love each other and are gonna get back together, they're back together, oh hold up, they've broken up again. Oh Joey finally got her man, she must be so happ... huh? Dumped him for some new guy who turns out to be gay! Now he's gone, there they go all happy, but wait, there's Joey hating him for doing the right thing with her dad.... Oh it didn't work out with the RIGHT guy for you, back in Dawson's room before you go off to your colleges, oh oh, Dawson got yelled at and is now dropping out of his college to bw with Joey... looks like they're finally... Crap. Mitch died **one eternity later** THEY FINALLY DID IT! They had an amazing night of lovemaking, this is it... aaaand Dawson messed up yet again so Joey throws him away... yet again" **Another eternity later** A DECISION HAS BEEN MADE! PACEY WINS HEART OF OUR RESIDENT BITCH! Soooo six + timejump of 5 years into their future only for them to NOT end up together after all of the above... So the point waaaas??? Only thing I got from D & J was their ability to cure my insomnia. P & J gave me some laughter, joy, tears, but mostly? Anger at her lack of tact, her constant put downs, her putting Dawson first... well... after herself, of course, and her constant moody, whiney, inconsiderate bitchery that made Pacey feel even worse about himself than he was already made to feel! At least with Dawson and Jen Part II, we saw more of a HEALTHY relationship, which should have been endgame for them both... I honestly loved Dawson with Jen. She brought out the best in him. She didn't put him down or make him feel second best. Even he had it in him, at least for a few episodes, to accept Jen for the amazing person she was, not compare her or even let Joey rule his brain for once, and we saw both being genuinely happy, cute, and fun with each other! The only genuinely brilliant "soulmate" relationship on the show? Was Jen and Jack. The best developed character was Grams. And the best all-around character in general? Was, for me, Pacey, then Jen and Grams (on par), then Jack.
pacey did not deserved better hew as a bad boyfreind and freind, i mean people over look a lot of pacey red flag and all his bad stuff. i also felt pacey never loved joey she was a prize just the way he described her tha not love that a prize
It a case of what happens with a lot of these type of shows. The male lead is usually never the popular character (broody, moody, serious, deem whiney and seen as the complete opposite of his more interesting best friend/rival) but his best friend and sidekick (deem witty, sarcastic and charismatic) is the one fans of the show will flock to especially if he is seen as the underdog compare to his best friend who life is sometimes more charmed and bless. And the chemistry between the unexpected coupling is nearly always seen as much stronger compare to the couple that the show is putting together especially if the actually actors are romantically involve with each other in real life. It comes down to a lot of the viewers in my opinion not liking to being told who to root for in two characters being together but more a case of them wanting to see it for themselves. Although sometimes the actual ratings for these shows show an eventual decline in viewingship numbers when they make changes even if certain fans show their support for the changes as is the case for DC as their first two series/seasons were their strongest in viewingship numbers. Another series that springs to mind of this is TVD. So for me no surprise in how this came about or why some think this way but I'm definitely is one of those (even if I'm in the smaller team) that was one that never rooted for this pairing in it's entire run on DC.
Dawson and Jen after Mitch death, their relation was so complete and healthy. Pacey and Andie, she needs him, Pacey felt more secure and he was protective like she did, with Joey he felt totally insecure the whole time, for me it's Dawson and Jen, Pacey and Andie.
Almost all of Joey's boyfriends were controlling though if you think about it, too bad that one of them is Gay though because he would have been perfect for Her
To me it not dateing Joey I have a problem with. It the giving Dawson advice suck as have fun with Eve and go after Katie. Why he was going after Joey in secret
not in the slightest. When she breaks up with him in s3 , he stays away from her whilst Dawson chases after her trying to reignite their relationship. The whole s3 finale is about Pacey leaving town for the summer because he doesn't want to watch Joey and Dawson getting back together.
that not true at all, dawson ask her to fix there realtionship that not even cloe to chase her and paecy threated to leave the state if she does nto pick him.
The actors had amazing chemistry as well which helped make the Joey/Pacey relationship work so amazingly well.
They sure did. Pacey brought out a different side to Joey
That’s because they were dating in real life. They brought their natural chemistry to their characters
I definitely Agreed
@finalfilmstudios6337 exactly also known as other Joey 😂

I absolutely agree with this 👌
The writers forgot to put Dawson and Joey in fun situations. To show rather than tell the audience that they had chemistry or loved each other.
@@167logan YES! I say that all the time. We here them talk about Dawson being there for Joey when her mom died and they use the word soulmate all the time, but we never really witness them being there for each or even seeming like they love each other
Eh disagree Joey is boring why people like her sm I will never get andie was better
Yeah but her and pacey fought about him every episode so it’s boring they never resolved anything
i lived for their banter
Their banter is definitely a highlight!
I lived for this show in ‘98-2003!
The Longest Day episode from season 3 is still probably one of my all-time favorites of the entire show 🙌

i really really love this show even if i'm at my 60ties
.. ❤❤❤ joey pacey loves story and dawson jen
Dawson's Creek is a classic! Love this show so much and the dynamics of their friendships
I'm in my 50s and am obsessed with Pacey and Joey. Pacey/Joshua in particular
I'm 62. I just watched DC in the last 2 to 3 years. Definitely a P/J fan.
This was a very interesting and entertaining video! Thanks for sharing 😊
Glad you liked it thank you!

To the question why -> cause the screenwriter wanted, thast's the only fucking reason
🎬🎬🎬🎬They Also Did This In The Movie Instinct Proposal🎬🎬🎬🎬
I always be team Joey and pasey Dawson always never be the one for her
The correct answer is: Dawson is boring af
pacey was just to much drama
hell i felt dawson WAS more fun then pacey
It will always be Dawson and Joey for me.
pacey was controling, vicim blameing and jsut a bad boyfriend for most of season 4,
Almost all of Joey's boyfriends were controlling though if you think about it, too bad that one of them is Gay though because he would have been perfect for Her
Dawson was never controling why they dated
He was also a horrible friend to Dawson by dating Joey. No excuses to do that to your best friend.
To me it not dateing Joey I have a problem with. It the giving Dawson advice suck as have fun with Eve and go after Katie. Why he was going after Joey in secret
joey never safice any part of her self to please dawson,
Didn't Pacey just go on and on at Joey, effectively brow-beating her into being his gf by being needy?
No
We must have watched two different shows lol
That's Not I remember it though 🤷
not in the slightest. When she breaks up with him in s3 , he stays away from her whilst Dawson chases after her trying to reignite their relationship. The whole s3 finale is about Pacey leaving town for the summer because he doesn't want to watch Joey and Dawson getting back together.

Pacey and andie should have been endgame not him and Joey Joey is the most boring character
Pacey and Joey suck as a couple all they ever did was fight about Dawson boring!
