Dawson's Creek Full Reunion ft James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes & More (2018) | PEOPLE

Joshua Jackson will always have a special place in my heart.
Me too. He was my favorite on the show.
Same!
Yeeeah, same!
Dudes not really attractive lol but guess his words can make it up..😂💀
I am 43 yrs old, and to this day, I still have a crush on Joshua Jackson! 😂
❤same😂😂😂❤❤❤
Did you watch the remake series 'fatal attraction '? Watched just for him
Same !!!, Sooo cute !!!😃
Same
I loved him and fell in love in Fringe
He is so fire hot
Can we just appreciate how gorgeous 'Grams' looks here? Beautiful woman. Somehow just discovered this and loved it, so awesome seeing these guys and gals together again. Loved Dawson's Creek, brings me back to my childhood 🙌
The grandmother is looking stunningly beautiful out of everyone.
The way Katie and Josh look at each other… you can tell they have deep admiration for each other.
They actually dated in real life for a bit during the show 💗
They were each other's first loves.
Bcos they were lovers
So sweet, they definitely have a lot of respect for each other
They still doing it
There was no TH-cam and social media those days, only the TV..I remember rushing home from school to watch the reruns of this show. So nostalgic 🤧
This show was a must on Tuesdays at 8pm and then Wednesdays at 8 pm. It got me through late middle school and early high-school. I will forever think of this as one of the best shows... one that defined a generation without social media and even good internet.
My mom used to ground me from this or Party of Five for making bad grades😂😂😂
I watched this while on maternity leave with my baby when I was 27 years old and I loved it from the start. To this day, I still love it. DC and 90210 are the soundtracks to my younger years.
I love that James Van Der Beek was all for Pacey and Joey ending up together. Classic!
thought Dawson and Jen should of ended up and her not dying but they probably did that so the show didn't have to have a reunion
For me, the moment that sealed the fates of Pacey and Joey was their dance at the Anti-Prom which ended with Pacey whispering "I remember everything." The first time I saw that scene, it was like time stopped, and I felt that Joey being with anyone other than Pacey would not make sense.
@@daeuri Anti-Prom was the best and still is my favorite episode! I think I shipped them from the first episode, then bought into the full possibility during the Penny Pretty episode. I literally cried during the final scene at Aunt Gwen's. Great TV couple.
@@ryanpurplenintendoeater9869 lol that's a good theory. That would have actually been good if Dawson and Jen ended up together. Like a good twist but also full circle.
Lol only females would want a male best friend to move in on his lifelong love! I hated Pacey because he broke the number 1 bro code! I'd never date or even approach any girl my closest friends had dated! There's to many fish in the sea to make scumbag moves like that.
I’m definitely a part of the next generation that watched this show and loved it. I was born January 28th 1998. Born 8 days after the show premiered. Didn’t watch it until 2020 myself, but the show is just as good today as it was back then. I love this cast. ❤️
That's pretty funny. I watched it in it's first fun, I was around 21. It was Uber popular when it was new.
Hi ,how amazing I was born on 28 January 1998 too!!
And it still resonates with today's generation
I didn’t watch it until 2023 myself!!!
@@saltair369 Born in '86
Joshua Jackson was everything to me in 1998 and still is today
He was excellent in 'The Affair'.
I'm watching it for the first time now in 2023 in my 40s and Joshua's character is everything to me too.
@@OllieSmiless 😲😲😲
Dani Jay, may I ask why? I mean Josh is very charismatic and charming, but I feel there is more to it than that. May I ask what your fascination with him and the show is?
@@OllieSmiless I know you weren't asking me but I'll throw in my 2 cents anyway lol. I watched DC in it's original run back in the late 90s. I never understood the Pacey lovers tbh. Imo Dawson was way cuter. 🤷♀️
One of the best shows ever! I was in college from '98 to '03 and it was something that I could totally relate to.
Same. It captured that era perfectly. The world was simpler then. Not everything was political.
Tell me you’re white without telling me you’re white. Lol. This was the whitest show in existence. Second only to The OC.
@@EMVelez I liked it too and I'm definitely NOT white 🤣🤣🤣
@@EMVelez so you don't think POC watch shows unless there's a POC character?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@meghanmisaliar I watched the show back in the day because I am around the same age as the cast (the younger cast). However, as someone who is NOT white, from a wealthy family or who grew up in a small town, I did not remotely relate to the show. I watched it now and again, but never became a big fan like some people here.
I studied performing arts/ contemporary popular music at college between 00-03. It was an amazing time to be young, without social media poisoning our lives. I even dated a French girl named Estelle who looked like Joey, no joke! I watched the show as a teen and return every few years to watch it all over again. As I'm doing right now 😆. One of the greatest shows of my generation.
Such a great groundbreaking show. The actors, theme, the scenery, the music that was incorporated.Just awesome. Wish they would do a reunion series.
I’m 77 and just watched it again for the fifth time. Love these characters…always miss them when it’s over.
They couldn't have chosen a more lovely and touching opening song for this series.
I prefer the original season one song.
One of my all time favourite shows! Still watch it while I make dinner. Love it especially the season 3 where Joey and Pacey get together. Love it!!
The way I had a massive crush on Joshua Jackson to this day!!!
To This Day!😡 To This Day! 😆😅😭😭😭
Me too! 🥰
i am 60 yrs old but still loving the show ..it was aired when my youngest son was in high school ..and am seeing it again netflix and understand it more now ..because i'm more relax and all my kids are working now ...the show really reflecs my teen age yrs my high school and college days that's why i loved the show...i loved joey ending up with the person she love ...pacey ...all tge characters makes the show beautiful to watch ...am still watching it because it made me relax ..i can laugh cry with it ...and my youngest son likes joey and pacey too ..she s very pretty sweet and pacey is romantic and have these beautiful eyes .. my youngest son will watch the show with me when not in work ..and we enjoyed it ..but he love the gorgeous beautiful joey ...
when my husband is home he brought many fruits and foods to eat while we watch the show ...he also love it and enjoyed it ...me and my hubby loves dawson creek ...and we end up cuddling in our sofa together and sleep ...it reminds us our teenage life ...
The whole cast was exceptional in their roles. I watched this show for the first time at 30 and I'm glad I didn't watch it at 16 when it was first airing cause it took me being more mature at 30 to understand the magnitude of the show
I wish there more shows like this. I miss it.
@PrincessLovelyAngel I've never heard anyone say that before, what about it would be too emotional for you? And who was your favorite character if you can pick 1
Felicity! The OC, OTH were also so good
That's why People is doing all these throwback reunions. It's a combination of Hollywood being run by more MBAs than creatives and streaming (good or bad) diluting the market share of networks. You get more variety in shows but a lot of these new streaming shows lack the layers of judgement and screening for good taste that well funded networks do.
I was married in my early 20s when this show premiered, and watched it every single week. I LOVED it. I’ve watched it so many times since then, and it STILL hits in different ways. And I still sob when Jen dies. 😢
They shouldn't have done the Jen dying thing though. I think the end should of been a little different on that note. Love the Joey pacey ending though. Lived the show in highschool and still do.
"The first time you see a glimmer of chemistry between those two characters."
...Did you watch the first two seasons? Joey and Pacey *always* had chemistry, from the pilot episode; that's why Pacey tried to kiss Joey in the first season in the first place.
40 now. Loved this show! Bought all the box sets. To binge watch this series again is on my to-do list. I remember crying my eyes out watching the final episode.
They were all such great actors and all of them deserved the career that Michelle has, they truly were good at what they did and that’s why I think the show is on another level than other teen dramas.
I disagree. Though I agree that Dawson's Creek was very good and I did watch, I think Michelle Williams was on a whole other level of acting, which is why she is a movie star /actress, with awards and constant work. I tried to follow the others in their careers, but either you have it, or you don't. Not everyone (actually, very few people) can cross over from teen TV drama, to adult Movie Cinema. In this group, Michelle is the ONLY one.
@@leahartlee29 I think Josh Jackson was on her level if maybe not everyone, he has done quite a few great indie movies over the last few years!
@@leahartlee29 Not exactly. Both Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson have been in critically acclaimed movies and series.Katie Holmes has been in at least 34 movies. Pieces of April,First daughter,The Secret, Batman et al.Joshua Jones ,The Affair, Fringe,Cruel Intentions, etc. Michelle Williams is a fine actor but I think Pieces of April and Joshua Jacksons role in the Affair puts them in the same company.
Michelle had one of the most complex characters to play. Dawson, Joey & Pacey were the main stars from start to finish. As she put it, she was the “outsider who wrecked the delicate balance of the creek”
I don't think they were ever as talented as Michelle
Still talent isn't everything, a lot of other factors played for Michelle to get to her she is today
I had just started highschool when DC came out. I'm also from NC and I remember my friends and I trying sooo hard to figure out where they were filming so we could try and get a glimpse 😂❤
I'm almost at the end of binge watching on Netflix after all these years. This show defined my teenage years in a way nothing else did. It's my favorite show of all time!
It's on Netflix??
I was so overjoyed that pacey and joey ended up together. I always felt that the love they had was true love and far surpassed her romantic relationship with dawson. Whenever her and dawson got together or kissed it just didn't feel right at all. The chemistry she had with pacey was off the charts. I was very relieved that the writer didn't go with the predictable/easy decision of making her end up with dawson.
YESSSSS I totally agree!!!!
Et moi aussi 😊❤❤❤
This show shaped my entire being as a teenager. This was exactly what I needed when I needed it. Best show forever.
My So Called Life was the original and paved the way for shows like Dawson Creek.
one season wasn't enough. ugh
I agree, but I would have to say Beverly Hills 90210 paved way for every youth oriented TV show.
I miss the 90s SO MUCH!!!!
At 43 years old I still miss it…❤
This has been brilliant to watch. Brings back so many memories. I was glued to every episode and it was a massive part of my life. Takes me right back to a very happy, stress free part of my life when I still had my Dad.
I swear Joshua Jackson gets better looking as he gets older , although he was fiiiine in his younger days too .😍
He has aged much more than Van Der Beek
He looks pretty awesome, hairline a little bit receded but, wish I was looking that good.
Just finished watching the show, im still sobbing...
I just finished tonight. Didn’t know I cold cry about show this much. Great writing 👏🏾.
I was in my early 20's when this came out but I just related so much to it's realism, loved watching this now as a 47yr old :)
Me too!
I didn't find this show until 2004, and when I did I was a police officer (33 years old) in Washington DC. I worked overnight shifts, and (I don't remember what network) it played from 8am to noon. I would get home from work at a few minutes 'til 8, and put it on while I got out of my uniform, and then decompressed from the night before. I'd eat breakfast while watching it, and wouldn't go to sleep until noon. I know I was to old to be interested in a teen show but it filled my head space with something a lot less stressful than all of the horrible crap I had dealt with before I went home. I guess it let me kind of live in a more innocent place, mentally, for a few hours every day after work. I'm grateful for that. Some of the dialouge was a little outlandish for teenagers, though. 😆
Age doesn't matter. We can love certain show no matter how old we are. I would still watch Dawson's Creek, because it reminds me those days. I am glad it gave you some peace.
I believe TBS is the network that would air the reruns at that time
I'm 50 & just started re-watching. It still holds up!!! Brings back so many memories
I recently went back and binged Dawson's Creek. I love that show. I Also loved James at 15/16.
though i've seen this while i was in college, i watched it again at netflix and it still got me bawling like a teenager😭😂 i soo love this show
Without James Van Der Beek this show would not have taken off. He is the hart of this show. He will forever have a special part in my heart. ❤️
Okay now I'm ready to binge watch that series all over again...that will be my weekend project 🥰
exactly! i'm gonna have to squeeze it in between my NCIS & Criminal Minds rewatch. :)
I loved this show. I had a friend of mine record it for me while I was in basic training for the Air Force...the entire WB lineup was phenomenal back then...Buffy, Dawson, Felicity, Charmed, and Roswell. Can we just say how great Grams look????❤❤❤❤
Dawson's Creek premiered in 1998 as i was 12/13 years old at the time. Looking back at 39, its incredibly nostalgic and astounding how much time has passed.
Most of all though I'm grateful for having great taste at such an early age... everything from the casting, writing, cinematography etc *chef's kiss*
Just seeing young talent (in your exact generation) capable of the talent Katie, Joshua, and Michelle displayed was extraordinary to witness in real time.
Being a young teen in the late 90s before the the world changed forever after 9/11 is truly a feeling that never leaves you. I feel its the very main reasons Dawson's legacy endures. 🙌🏽
This was my favorite show ever growing up!!! I will always love "Dawson's Creek"!!
Anyone not on the Pacey/ Joey train must have been watching another show as they were perfect together despite the writers keeping them apart. Watch the Castaway episode and see what chemistry looks like !
Aside from their undeniable chemistry, maybe the writers trying to pull them apart is the biggest reason why we were shipping them because it's like them against the world. We as audience wanted to win and we won.haba
Ademas, Dawson (the character) era un completo imbecil, toxico , narciso y muy cruel cuando habia cosas no acordes a sus planes egolatras 🤷🏻♂️.
til this day that theme song still hits :)
How hasn’t this been EVERYWHERE!???!! We loveeee this cast!!! THE BEST EVER
Pacey & Joey = love
Jack & Jen = friendship
In 1998 I was 12 and in a mental hospital for about 3 months. On Thursday nites at 8 we used to all gather together and watch Dawson’s creek lol
So ur like 36 or 37years old damn
I learned more English from watching the show than in school. My teacher hated me for having an american accent. :D I still give Dawson's Creek credits for my love for the english language.
I never understood why people make fun of the scene when Dawson cries. No one looks good when they're sobbing over something like loosing the love of their life.
it's fiction and it's a meme
I hate it ended, I never got over Jen’s death, never ever... even with a purpose. No!
And the end was perfect. Pacey and Joey. Period
Thanks for spoiling :)))
@@aleksandarangelov8617 You’re welcome! If you haven’t seen a show that started in the 90s, what are you bitching about? Jeez!
You just spoiled me HAHAHAHAHAH
No it wasn't. I didn't like the ending at all.
SPOILERS !!
Them ending up together was huge mistake. Everything that happened between Pacey and Joey after "the mall" incident just left sour taste in my mouth. They rekindled their relationship when they spent the night trapped in there, they were all over each other, but as soon as Eddie shows up, Joey just dumped Pacey like yesterday's trash. She didn't need time to think, she just discarded him like he was nothing and went for Eddie instead. That sunk the Joey+Pacey ship for me.
Here's a "better" ending for the show - Eveything stays the same except during Jen's wake, when Joey and Pacey talk in the kitchen, she confesses that she misses him and wants to give their relationship another shot. Pacey leans closer to her, their faces are inches apart, he looks into her eyes and says: "I've always loved you". He leans closer to her, she closes her eyes, anticipating the kiss, but then he whispers in her ear- "..but we both know how this is going to end and I'm not sure that I'd be able to survive you ripping my heart out... again." He kisses her on the forehead and says "Farewell, Joey".
When I was a teen I felt the same, but as an adult and after the pandemic, I think it makes total sense from a writer's and viewer's perspective. Death is a part of life and remembering that can make people grown up very quickly: so as a last event for the cast, it made sense. Whilst Jen always had a tragic and hard life; I love that she became a mum and found peace in the end. My view is that she would have been watching over her daughter and it's lovely that her best friend Jack would have raised her daughter and told her all about her wonderful and complex mum.
From 1998-2003. It was my favorite show. I was the same age as the characters so I related so much with them.
Thankful I was able to watch the show when it aired in actual time . And having to wait a week for the next episode 😂💜
I’m 58 yrs old. I had 3 kids by the time this shoe came out and still watched & loved it
Age is just a number
Even Dawson is #TeamPacey... ❤ That's perfect!
I love Dawson’s creek it’s still one of my favorites shows I miss it when I was in high school when it came on.
Kevin Williamson just proves that he’s a writer that wants to write what HE wants instead of listening to the audience because if it was up to him it would have been joey and Dawson.
Actually he listened to the audience. Most of the audience wanted Joey with Pacey. They tried to first write Joey with Dawson but realized it just didn't work. So he chose what worked best for the show. As he should have.
This comment makes no sense. Everyone was in love with Joey and Pacey.
Funny and jen lindley is now in a spielberg movie!!! Michelle Williams is great!❤
Jenn’s death scenes really showed Michelle’s acting skills and level! She is amazing!
I remember watching this and always loved Pacey more than Dawson 😂😂😂
Yes. Definitely team Pacey! ❤️
Dawson took himself so damned seriously
Yeah me too
Yeah. Pacey the abuser.
Dawson character was always victimizing himself, he needed to be more mature, Pace was. 👌🏾
I streamed Dawson's Creek throughout High School and it felt like I was part of the friend group and enjoyed the drama on the screen vs in my actual life lol. I recently started college after a 10 year break from school and rewatched the entire series during my first semester of school. I even ended up visiting Boston while watching the show and it's felt so nostalgic and uplifting. The loss of Jen will always hit my heart. . . also I was always #TeamPacey
Yes! This was my life in the 6th grade !! Buffy and Dawson! I remember my whole class was OBSESSED! every week was OMG did you see what happened to Joey and Dawson?!! 🤣🤣 omg can you believe buffy and angel ..!!!.? Lmao those were the days !
Yess! Best years to grow up in... So much nostalgia! Being between 10 and 25 in the years 1998 to 2009 was so great, and the world literally changed in front of our eyes into this super globalized tech era ..
@Christine Gangai My childhoof growing up in the 90s was awesome! Music ,television, ..we had technology but we weren't bombarded with it like we were today. Even the early 2000s were great!
Best time to be a teen boy watching Katie Holmes and Sarah-Michelle Gellar every week 😍😍
Gradma still looks amazing!
Josh is still one of the most handsome men i have ever seen. To me there was never any doubt. It was Pacey all along. If i were Joey i wouldn't even think about it...just like Katie didn't,dating Josh in the first years😁😍
💯 he looks really hot in Cursed
I really can't tell if it's meant to be a joke when y'all say Josh is "hot"
Are you blind? He is hot@@quEEnbItch999
40yrs old still drooling over Dawson lol omg have you seen that man lately 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Used to be my favourite show . I binge watched it again 25 years later and it was like watching it for the first time
Siempre amaré esta serie, lo mejor de lo mejor, tengo 38 años y aún me transmite tantos sentimientos. Joey y pacey juntos😍😍 Pacey mi favorito, esta personificado aparte de guapo... Super divertido y buena honda.
One of my favorite shows growing up. I began to watch it because all the girls at my school said “you’re like Pacey on dawson’s creek!”. So I watched it & I was very surprised his character was me in Highschool.
They’re all such amazing actors i didn’t grow up in the nineties but it brought me back ti a nostalgia of what it feels like growing up
Loved it when I watched it at uni many moons ago, still love it now. A wonderful coming of age teen show.
“At times you kind of want to slap him” Hahha very true
I re watching it now on Prime. I loved how this was part of my growing up teen years. Was real nothing fake as now everything reality but so fake. Love dearly the Actors and how they grew as a person and career.
Such good times. Josh was so good in Fringe also.
My 2nd favorite trivia that I caught re-watching the show, was the ski trip bus scene. Roll calling the actor's real last names. The Mighty Duck's joke slip was my 1st. Joshua Jackson fan 🙂
Grams looks stunningly beautiful! Can't believe she's in her late 80s! Also, Maredith Moroe is the oldest actress to play a teenager in the show and now, in her early 50s, she looks amazing! I was about the same age as the characters when DC started. It was huge in Brazil as well. I'm glad to say I've found my Pacey and got married since my husband is very respectful, pays attention to my needs, loves me unconditionally. Never give up, guys!
I just finished rewatching the show last weekend. Still loved it.
This was a very enjoyable reunion video. All of the actors genuinely seemed to love and respect each other.
I watched a Gilmore Girl's reunion, and I noticed that each of the women only seemed interested in the interview when it was their turn to talk. It really turned me off to them.
This group, though, seemed so engaged. It makes me want to re-watch the series.
My best show I've every seen. I've been also a teenager at the same age as the characters on scene when the show was on TV in Poland. This show touched on issues that could be identified with, so I think it had an impact on so many young people. Maybe that's why I started dating with the boy whose personality and values was similar to Pacey's and whose became my husband then 😊. Every time I watch it once again I experience it as intensely as when I was a teenager. 😊❤️
Wow gramps is soo beautiful!!
I love this show need to watch it again! I wish they came back for a season showing their kids and how Jens daughter grew up and all that
Wow they’re all stunningly gorgeous! The grandmother is just freaking beautiful!
Dawson crying was heartbreaking at the time. I never thought it was ugly crying until the internet ran with it years later. I got your back James, no one’s calling you ugly on my watch.
I'm truly surprised Jen never dated a girl. I feel like her character would be the most open to exploring different sexualities and lifestyles
It was great to see everyone come together for this reunion but IMO it was wrong to not have Dawson's parents apart of it. They apparently were not asked according to interviews they did. The disrespect of not including them tainted this for me.
I’m glad James has become more chill about how things played out as he’s gotten older, he almost seemed bitter about it for awhile
Joshua will always be so handsome to me.
When I see these things, I thank God I was born in the last century. Amen!
It was ahead of its time.
When Pacey and Joey became a couple, it destoyed the special friendship Pacey, Joey and Dawson shared. Their chemistry was pure magic. But afterwards it was all gone and the show never recovered.
It happens in real life.
what a lovely bunch ! zero narcissism.
really loved each other .
Forever in my heart, forever some of the best memories amidst the best days
.. Love Love this. ❤️
Still watch the show religiously. ❤
Definitely loved this show and that song Definitely gives so much nostalgia aaahh to be that young again
I graduated in 2003. It was literally my youth. Very nostalgic for me today
Nostalgia is everything TAKE ME BACK PLEASE!!!! 💕💕💕
One of my all time favorite shows!! Bummed when it ended!!!
In all reality Jacks character probably made the biggest social impact of the show. I don't remember sexuality being addressed on that scale of show before.
The Dawson crying meme is such a powerful one lmao
Lordie Lordie, this show has always been my guilty pleasure. I still binge watch it. I'm 60 years old, and Joshua Jackson still gets my heart racing! #TeamPacey 🥰🤪😘🔥
I expected a full on focused Q & A with the cast. To hear from them in more than just snippets. I know about the plot and have no interest in the past roles of the cast. I expected more.
exactly would've liked for the cast to talk more
