I did like dawson in season 1 and I do realize that without dawson there would be no pj because he sort of unconsciously brought them together but I really hated the way he handled all of it. It was something that the writers were very busy with, so all kinds of nonsense was written, like Dawson thinking he owned Joey, Pacey always having to be jealous of Dawson, and Joey always having to go back to Dawson even though none of this would be a natural target for everything else they did. Lots of people have their first love as children/teenagers, but it's not necessarily the big love of people's lives. That's why I think it's only natural that Joey and Pacey ended up together, Pacey was the big love of Joey's life while Dawson was the first love. Being the first love is not the same as the big love, it can happen, but based on what I see in my society, it is only limited to TV shows from the United States. But because the writers were so preoccupied with Joey and Dawson ending up together, because Joey loved Dawson when she was 15, they didn't realize right away that they accidentally wrote the best love story in TV history into the show. It was Joey and Pacey's love story, which the writers were going to skip over in Season 5 and well into Season 6. Another thing the writers didn't seem to see/get was how they wrote Joey and Dawson's friendship right after they became a couple in the end of the first series. The friendship that the writers thought they were writing quickly changed from friendship to companionship, and in series 5 and 6 they can at most be defined as acquaintances. But meanwhile, a real friendship between Joey and Pacey was being written. Which I believe was a complete coincidence but I always enjoy discovering new examples of Joey and Pacey just getting better and better friends. In my opinion the character of Dawson wouldn't have had to be so boring if the writers had let go of their initial idea of how everything was supposed to end earlier, but instead Dawson is just ruined in my opinion as he is the most annoying and boring of all in this elements. Dawson still holds a place in the hearts of some, and I think it's primarily because the actor who plays him does it well, and many people no doubt think he's cute.

Never could follow the show overall - no teenagers talk the way they did on this show and that always really irritated me - but the whole Dawson/Joey/Pacey thing always struck a chord. I was in the Dawson/Joey camp and never the Joey/Pacey one. I hated Pacey, and eventually hated Joey too for being such a wishy-washy tease. From the point on Joey's choice was made, I'd have cut her out of my life permanently - Pacey too - and made sure that whenever the characters crossed paths, it was nothing but daggers and thick tension.

I was in the Dawson/Joey camp and never the Joey/Pacey one. I hated Pacey, and eventually hated Joey too for being such a wishy-washy tease. From the point on Joey's choice was made, I'd have cut her out of my life permanently - Pacey too - and made sure that whenever the characters crossed paths, it was nothing but daggers and thick tension.

@@jordanlegrand5596actually he was, because if yours girl or man is single, she or he is fair game to be persuaded, the triangle wasn't the only one thing he was being a jerk about, the PSATs, he accused his best of cheating at the time, most of the times I didn't think Dawson and Pacey were even best friends throughout the entire show.. Pacey was more of a friend then Dawson ever was.

I just couldnt do it because no matter how much I like my best friend gf/soulmate it's betrayl and it too much hurt to put my so called best friend hurting like that.I would never try to betray a friend i mean look how long it took dawson to get pass the hurt in his mind that he got betrayed by his best friend especally sneaking behind your back that is a no no.I can understand why Dawson push joey away because he was scared of getting hurt but he still loved her.
