Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that the installation in my DUAL 601 worked great. I had a very noticeable humming noise before, which seemed to have its direct origin in the DIN cable. I contacted Art of Vinyl by email about this and received a prompt response the next day. The video instructions were clear and easy to understand. This is the first review I've ever written about anything, but I thought this feedback was appropriate.

Thank you. Swapped out Din lead for RCA leads (supplied by yourself) replaced the Steuerpimpel and changed the cartridge and attached a new head shell (supplied by you). Now my Dual 621 is working perfectly and sounds amazing

You just helped me to fix my CS701 with molten power supply. Giving up on the original unit, I went for a plain 12V DC supply (LED-string type). Missing the stroboscope and havin to adjust speed, but otherwise fine.
Thanks a lot for your very helpful video!!!

Nice video! Very clear dialogue. I have a Dual 721 that I pulled out of a trash pile! it has a few bent parts and needs a stylus but the motor runs.

In case you’re here with a Dual 502, it only needs standard rca cables (males on each end). They plug right in, internally, just like they connect to your receiver.

    Thank you!
I replaced the RCA cables on my CS 505-2 and this video pointed me in the right direction.
Details are different; the internal connection and the cable protector was hard to remove.

You have to cut the ground bridges, when you change to cinch with both ground connections.

According to the Dual user manual this indeed is the case when switching from a DIN connector to RCA plugs.
In my experience this setup however never gives a hum and it is much easier for people to do themselves, with a lower risk of damage to the fragile tonearm wiring.

@@ArtOfVinylTurntableRepairs OK, yes, can be. Did you connect an extra ground cable to the chassis as well which is going to the ground of the Amp?

Replaced RCA cable and am getting constant low-level hum. (Old cable was intermittent hum, sounded like broken wires inside the cable; you could adjust cable and stop the hum). CS 1268.

Greetings, I have 704 model, I had it refurbished, but now I have a problem that the left channel is about 5 db lower than the right one, at first I thought it's amplifier, but after some experimentation it turned out it is the turntable. Tonearm, stylus, antiskate etc. is set up properly, do you have any ideas what could it be? Do you think that any contacts might be oxidized?

Hello, I have the dual 1241 I'm having an issue where the unit worked great but now all of a sudden I'm getting nothing from the left side of rca is this a cable issue or is there a bigger internal issue with this unit that needs repair or replacement?

My 721 has RCA jacks on the bottom already. Was this done as an upgrade by Dual at some point or did someone else do it?

rick03041979 dear Rick, thank you very much for your comment. In that case I would recommend checking out the service manual from vinylengine (you do need a free account for this). I think somewhere in the service manual it states how you can change the wires from the power cable and transformer.

      Hi Pinoy,
When problems like this start coming up I usually opt to just clean and lubricate the whole automatic part of the turntable. It’s difficult for me to tell the exact reason without seeing the turntable.
Make sure you remove all the old grease first and apply the correct new grease (which you can find on vinylengine.com)

Forgive me, But I don't see how you replaced the Line Out Wire RCA cables? I have a CS 5000 model with a RCA connector that has fouled. The connection to the Preamp (NAD 1300) is creating HUM - severe HUM. I wasted money by having the NAD Preamp in a stereo repair shop which replaced a number of burned out diodes. he showed me the burned out ones. When I brought it home, I had HUM again. Then I returned the NAD to the shop. He had the NAD in his shop connected to a TT in the shop for 48 hours - running non stop , No HUM. After returning home, and playing the TT for awhile, the HUM returned. I found that if I jiggled the RCA cables for the TT to the NAD preamp, the HUM was eliminated !! Yes, It is grounded (I redid the ground checked 2X) . So, the culprit is the faulty RCA cable form the Dual TT. I am hesitant to do what is described here - taking the entire TT apart ? Is it a good fix to get new RCA connectors (Soldering kind )? THX for your video description.
