      This is by far the best TH-cam video on the topic that we have watched during our recent research. Thanks so much to everyone who made it possible.

    Make your own food for the dog that’s what I’m doing these vets don’t know they make them worse with all these pills medication and these prescriptions diets they don’t like I’ve been trying it for a half a year now so I’m making my own fresh food and I’m not listening to these doctors the mushroom products workgo online and look for immune critical immune defense

    Thank you Are the prescription soft foods evolving to be more flavourful for the patients. And one question not addressed, if they know the toxin, can prescription be addressed even after a period of time since ingestion? Again thank you and really appreciate this video.

    After blood test they say my dog is stage 4 but ultrasound shows very mild symptom. Dr said to do 50 to 75 ml Sub Q every other day but every time after subQ my dog looks more sick I don’t know if subQ is good for my dog? He does drink water and when we do skin test he is hydrated. I don’t know who to believe.

    My senior cat (16-17 years) will only eat Fancy Feast and Petite Cuisine pate poultry or salmon/shrimp with broth. Are these high protein, phosphorous, sodium? ( wet food only). Her happiness, at this stage, matters the most to me. From experience with cats over the years, I am diagnosing her myself, because I am on a fixed income now, as well as medically compromised myself.
    I just don't want her to suffer. I can tell she is Stage 3-4.

      If I were you, I could simply feed her whatever she will eat. My cat was recently diagnosed with the disease and was recently eating very little. I would be grateful for him to eat anything right now.

      If you contact the company's customer service they should be able to provide some nutritional info for you, especially if you regularly buy their products.

      I agree with everyone above. We have a very senior pug who is, in our opinion, having end stage kidney issues. Like you we just don't see the value in paying for lots and lots of tests, which would also stress him, and trying multiple medications, when he's already well beyond an average age. I also now feel that some of his early symptoms, which we pointed out multiple times, we're not fully acknowledged for what they were and addressed. If they had been, I'd probably feel a little differently. To be blunt, my husband and I are both kind of angry. So we are just babying him along now, letting him eat what he will*, changing his diapers and carrying him a lot more. (*Right now it's chicken meat tossed in Phosbind.)
      My heart goes out to everyone here and to each of their beloved pets.

    my dog got ear infection about a week ago, been to vet and they gave me ear drops. a couple of days later my dog stopped eating but drank lots of water. My dog hasn't eaten for 4 days and ear infection wasn't getting better so back to the vet yesterday. They told me she is very dehydrated and best to put her on fluids for a few hours and get a blood sample. One hour later vet called me and said it isn't looking good ( my dog is a 8y old English foxhound) her blood is full of toxins and her kidneys had shut down. They suggested the best thing to do put her down !!??? I said NO WAY i will get a second opinion. They told me they can try and give her antibiotics and fluids for 48h , take another blood sample and see if things improve. I agreed. this morning the vet called me and said , thats she is doing much better and she even ate some chicken but want to keep her on fluids for another day. Yesterday they suggested putting her down and after a day of fluids she is doing better already !!! What are my future options ?? while i am typing this, Vet just called again. they want to keep her until Monday the least (more money i guess) and continue Fluids. On Monday vet called me again and told me her Toxit reading are half now but he wants to keep my dog another 48h on Fluids, which i refused. I believe another 48h wont make any further different (apart from more $$$ for the Vet) Vet gave me "prescription diet (Hills) and 20mg Nelio Tablets. I decided NOT use use Hills food and start feeding her raw food.

      The Hills food is really good. I give mine Vit. B. Gotta watch the protein. I'll cook chicken. Mix in her food. With some low sodium chicken broth.

      If your pet's kidneys are compromised, it's important that their diet isn't overburdening the kidneys with extra protein and phosphorus. The hills food (but there are other brands too, you don't have to just use that kind) is formulated to limit those things but still be nutritionally adequate. I heard that the Hill's food is supposed to be one of the better brands ? -- it is friggin expensive though. I heard that switching to any kind of wet food is good in general as well to keep your pet more hydrated.

    Having teeth cleaning? Could that cause Kidney damage?

    • @md-wg4bz
      @md-wg4bz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting, my sisters cat died from kidney disease after getting his teeth cleaned. She blames it on the Gabapentin. I got my cats teeth cleaned a few months ago, and a month later, he was diagnosed with this kidney disease. (The vet told me to give him two Gabapentin before the procedure (100 mg each). I thought that was excessive. However, his kidney disease might have been caused by a heart issue. Anyway, if you read the side effects for Gabapentin, it recommends lowering the dose, or not using it at all, for pets with kidney issues.

    Your doctor then you should know why this is a cause of kidney disease all the studying that you guys do and you can’t come up with an answer for kidney disease because we will get old. That’s what that means. I don’t think so.
