One of two public highway level crossings in Dymchurch, situated on the Kent Coast, and one of a total of thirteen public highway level crossings on the 13-and-a-half-mile-long 15-inch gauge Romney, Hythe, and Dymchurch Railway. This level crossing on Eastbridge road still retains retro halogen bulb-type wigwags (road traffic lights), and it also has German-made barriers modified for usage in the UK, manufactured by Pintsch Bamag. This level crossing is located very close to Dymchurch Station, albeit separated by a small bridge.
Three lowerings have been featured in this video. The first two were for non-stop trains which came close together, though both were significantly slowed down as they passed through Dymchurch station, with the first giving a bit of wheel-slip in the station as it got back up to speed and the second giving off an impressive and very long whistle as it accelerated through in the direction of Hythe! The third lowering around 20 minutes later was for a 'Freight Demonstration Train' hauling Permanent Way coaches, and wagons containing various items including a spare barrier 'boom' arm. These were all running as part of the railway's "End of Season Parade".
Just at the start of the second video, you can hear the alarms of the other nearby level crossing on St. Mary's Road in their much louder and more frantic "another train coming" mode, as both trains passed each other around there.
    Thanks for watching!
