Possibly you could make a template of the shape and send that in.
Traditional folders ( and belt knives ) are all I own and carry.
I gave up on the modern type stuff almost 10 years ago and never looked back.
everyoens got their own thing :)
I bought a Case Hunter knife from a buddy of mine for $20. It was made between 1940 ~ 1964, the handle worn smooth from use, the blade misshapen from sharpening, and it's main blade wobbly and loose. I wrote to Case described the wobble problem and they told me to send it in that it was covered under warranty. Ten days later it arrived back to me better then new. Blade fixed, sharpened and ready for another 70~80 years service, free of charge. Case stands behind their product and is made in USA since the late 1880's. try that with a china made knife
Thanks for the update!
Send it in now while they will have a shield for it. If you ever sell or trade it, the person will want it. I always carry at least 2 knives everyday. My dad has more on him than I do. He even carries a cold steel bowie. Love your videos.
You could ask them for the next bigger shield.
Hey jeff I have an idea for the knife missing the shield. You could 3d print a custom replacement shield. Maybe put your logo on it. I bet some of your viewers have 3d printers and would be willing to send something and such a small piece would be cheap/ fast to make I would imagine. You should take a picture of the knife next to a quarter for scale… then anyone with a 3d printer would be able to make a new part that fits perfectly
Maybe measure the cavity and send them the dimensions? Surely they have a ruler and can send you a bigger shield in a letter?
its mostly about not bothering them when they are busy with the holiday rush...
In my opinion case should pin the shields once again and charge more for doing so . Or they should drop the shield all together
Why don't you cut out a cardboard template that fits in the area for the shield and mail that to them? They can use the template to get the right size for your shield replacement.
Ebay has case shields for sale.
That's on my wish list to buy a Case knife. There is one I've been looking at for awhile now. I have my Grandfathers Case knife I believe it's from the 1960s.
I've carried a knife since elementary school. My brother's and Sister's always know I have a knife on me when they need to cut something they always ask me if they can use my knife. My Nephew's are carrying a tool of there trade now that's a good thing to have some sort of tool even if it's a reversible screw driver,
At least tomato knife is good now.
So how good does the tomato/utility knife actually work on tomatoes?? I have been considering one but wasn’t sure I wanted to spend $35 on something that might be just another “serrated knife”.
Interesting story
Jeff, just send it in get it fix. My Dad's wallet was so fat he had no room in his pocket for anything else.
