Musical Youth were quite rude, I think the two smallest were even younger than me at that point but they thought they were above speaking to any of the audience which was a shame. If I get the video transferred, I’ll put a link up in here. Or if anyone spots it, I’m the bricklayer who gets his face pushed into the concrete as the Paperboy gets chased! 😂
I don't think the world was quite ready for Mark Hollis, so ahead of his time was he. Thank you for the music you legend.
Such a sad loss Mark Holly's. You will live forever
You need to watch their awesome perfomance in Athens Cultural Capital 1985. Timeless band.I was a lucky one.
This is one of the most beautiful songs of the time! It's on my special playlist!
Mark and Talk Talk ... i miss you.. from my heart❤❤❤
Among the best and sensible songs ever made! No doubts!
The band ‘No Doubt’ covered this song originally written by Talk Talk a few years after it’s initial release & ‘No Doubt’ made an absolute ‘motza’ (cash pile) from it. All the radio stations ever did was play the ‘No Doubt’ cover & ignored Talk Talk’s original version. It was a criminal oversight😡
What a superb performance!! He was such a great singer.
I've always found this a haunting song but in a melancholy way.
I felt the same way....still do.
Me too, then and now I stop and hear it through every time. Similar feeling with the Church's Under the Milky Way.
Saying that it’s haunting and melancholy is almost the same thing.
Life's what you make it is more haunting.
@@desertrose1226 For you, not me.
Grazie per il video. 🔝🔝🔝indimenticabili, intramontabili. 👏👏👏🌹
I love this song, unbelievable it never made the top 40 originally and difficult to understand why it didn't get into the top 10 when re-released.
Because there was so much good stuff around then, no competition now though. this song would fit today's climate so well, he was a master before time.
Crazy it only got to no 46 in 1984! now in 2024 one of the most played songs of the 80s...
I saw them in 1985 while on vacation in Greece at a 2 day musical festival.
40 years!!!!
The song, the voice, magic
Dokladnie
Amo esta canción, eterno Mark Hollis. Estamos marzo de 2024.
A masterpiece to say in the least!
Missing the 70s and 80s era when artists put out platinum material as such.
Wishing Mark would have been around for awhile longer.
Too true. Music today is crap. What has happened to bands like this.
@@garyowens1517 fair to say that evolution has left us with "today's crap"
So unfortunate to see that these highly regarded musicians are dwindling away along with their "styles"
Peace brother
@@danielethier2015 too true. Hopefully it will go full circle again
@@garyowens1517 very much hoping!!
@@danielethier2015 fingers crossed. I grew up in the seventies and eighties thank god
Remember this song so well loved it then & love it now. RIP Mark.
1984 : I’m 20 , there’s plenty of girls and dope ... it was last century, even last millenium , when I was young ... boooooooohhhh ! !,, but thanks for the great song and vivid memories
I was 21. The 80’s were the best!
Pure genius, and what a brilliantly constructed song, underrated then but will never be forgotten!
Thank you soo much for uploading. It's so funny to see Mark sings this song without his glasses and his long hair. He sings this "84"-Song with his "82"-face. If you understand...
Mark Hollis had one of the most amazing voices I ever heard. I remember hearing their song Today on TOTP in August 1982 and was smitten. Great band and such a loss
Melhor voz, de todos os tempos... Músicas lindas... Ouço, it's my live...
