I've been to over 20 Ozzy / black sabbath concerts and watching his video of this song brings slite tears to my eyes because I can see the evolution that I experienced, I'm a giant Ozzy fan since the first time I listened to the paranoid album ... long live the OZ-man
This is special. I'm 23 and my dad is drummer who introduced me to all of the classics but his favorite is Ozzy. I failed to appreciate good music until my late teens/twenties but I shared this video with him yesterday and we both couldn't stop crying. Everyone wishes they could watch a film of their life and this was beautiful. Ozzy is and always will be far from ordinary! I love that the two of you share music it reminds me of myself and my dad. Keep on rocking!
This is one of the best songs Ozzy have ever recorded. I won't lie, i had tears in my eyes when i heard this first time and when i saw the RR scene from the video. It made me realize that Ozzys final tour might have been allready made. Also i'm really glad that Annie liked the song, respect for that. One is for sure, John Michael Osbourne will never die an ordinary man.
It was Andrew Aycock the bus driver who had cocaine in his system, Rachel Youngblood Ozzy's seamstress and Randy Rhoads were drug-free at the time of the crash according to the autopsy report. Andrew convinced Rachel and Randy to go up for a joy ride in a small plane, Andrew was screwing around and buzzed the tour bus on the second pass it clipped the bus and crashed into a nearby house. The anniversary of Randy, Rachel and Andrew's death is March 19th.
My favorite guitar player to this day. I so wish we could have seen what he could have done in later years. He wasn't a big booze or drug fan so o'ding wouldn't have been in his future
According to Don Airey, the keyboardist, he had photos of Randy (in the back) pulling Rachel off of the co-pilot controls (she was having an attack of some sort, whether a heart attack or panic attack) that was causing the plane to go down and the whole time Andrew was trying to pull up. Andrew was aware Rachel had heart problems and was told not to try anything scary that could give her a heart attack.
Love ozzy! His songs and videos are so powerful! And has so much meaning to his life and journey. Ozzy's voice is crazy powerful. Can't believe he is still here.
Had the greatest pleasure to see black sabbath live back in 1971 Sheffield England, paranoid, iron man, war pigs all the greats at that time, I feel I’ve lived through the best musical decades ever.. stay lucky fella!😉🇬🇧
Being able to look back at your life in such a way that you can visually see your accomplishments and mistakes documented can be profound and emotionally draining. I hope Ozzy can live the rest of his life in harmony within himself.
the blonde guy with the bullseye guitar is Zakk Wylde who ended up replacing Randy Rhoads and was also supper young(19) when he started touring with them and become one of the most known and loved guitar players. he also has his own band that Ozzy guests on in Black Label Society. give a listen. also they have a ballad in IN THIS RIVER that is a song about Dimebag Darrell Abbott who was shot and killed on stage.
I think one of the things about OZZY that's amazing is his love for History! Very intelligent working man! God bless OZZY as he's battling Parkinson!🙏🙏🙏
I'm 13 and I love the prince of darkness he is the best and this song made me ball my eyes out it's so depressing k grew up listening to Ozzy it just really upset me but it is a good song but really sad
Once again I gotta clear up the Randy Rhoads story: 1. Randy passed away at 25 2. He and Ozzy were close, but had a strained relationship at the end 3. He had only been with Ozzy 2-3 years total. Was not playing for Ozzy in his teens. 4. Randy was NOT on drugs 5. Ozzy and everyone else were on the tour bus, not a trailer 6. It was the bus driver Andrew Aycock, the hair dresser Rachel Youngblood and Randy in the plane. 7. Andrew had taken others up before with no problems. 8. Andrew was driving all day and night, which is why he was on cocaine. 9. Rachel Youngblood had heart problems, so Andrew was told not to do anything crazy. At some point during the flight, she started to suffer either a heart attack or a panic attack (or both) and fell forward into the plane controls. Randy was trying to pull her off while Andrew was trying to correct the plane. This is according to Don Airey, the keyboardist, who was taking pictures of them and caught them in their death descent. Apparently you can see this in his pictures. He will never reveal them to the general public.
Fun fact the big dude with the beard and white & black guitar is his main lead guitarist Zakk Wylde! Been together since the Ultimate Sin Album circa 1988. He was a student of Randy Rhodes, that's the connection BTW. You see cover art for Bark at the moon, ultimate sin video for Miracle Man is clipped there as well. Ultimate Sin and No rest for the wicked shown. Poster on the wall after his retirement in 91 he releaed Ozzmosis in 95! On stage with his son Jack is from the concert video of No more tears and the no more tours tour! 95 was the Retirement sucks tour. Amazing carreer. Hell careers plural. He's been rocking since 1966/67 with Sabbath! He passed 50 years last decade.

Ozzy will always be beyond ordinary he just on a different level to the rest of the world & we love him for it - I used go school with guy who's mum was Ozzy's girlfriend b4 he was famous back when he used live in Birmingham & was trying get gigs etc
My first concert was ozzy and a band called Sepultura ibwas in the 4th grade my dad took me when we lived in Arizona the concert was outside of Phoenix
Unrelated to this vid, sorry. And I'm late to the party, but: Floor Jansen (Nightwish) won the Dutch pop prize, presented to the artist with the most important contribution to Dutch pop music (pop music...?!). The sour grape is that she is extremely well known in the metal scene, but Dutch people hardly knew her. Until... She sang in a Dutch TV show ("beste zangers" - best singers), after that her 6 solo shows were sold out in less than a day. Additional shows were sold out in 5 hours. This may be a good watch: Floor with Henk Poort singing "the phanton of the opera". Henk Poort has been the phantom in theatres for years, he is a through and through theatre man. Floor has watched one of his performances when she was young, and asked him to sing it with her. Henk agreed, on one condition, that he be singing with her live on stage on her shows. Awesome! (Their live performances together are also on YT). This may be a shorter clip, in addition maybe Henk Poort with "sound of silence"?
Have you heard the interview about this song? The guy who had the idea wrote “ I don’t wanna die an ordinary man” on a piece of paper as an idea for the song and the next day when he met with Ozzy ozzy had written “ I’m just an ordinary man” on a paper. The guitarist and bass player were big name old school rock artists too
Originally Randy didn’t want to get in the plane because he was scared of heights but decided to get pictures. Ozzy never truly got over the death of his band mate and best friend
Cool song and love it when Ozzy does the slower stuff, have you seen Changes when he did it with his daughter Kelly I though it was a cool version of it.
Just watching these videos sometimes makes me wish I had a kid or two. I could see us now, doing videos like this, only we'd be reacting to the music I loved in the 80s like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, etc.

Another recent good one from Ozzy is under the grave yard. It's about how he hit rock bottom after black sabbath and how Sharron helped him get through that point in his life. If you haven't checked it out watch video it's pretty good.
Did you see him at the Grammys? He was so off balance he didnt walk on camera & leaned on a cane. When he spoke he didnt seem all with it either. Sharon spoke for him & opened the envelope. Like he said, he's lived 20 lifetimes and all of them hard. He can still sing though.
