Wrong . You were not searching for video like this. If you were then I am not sure how you didn't get to see video on chandrayan 2 by isro official TH-cam account . Which explained it in far more better way.
more fuel will be required if want to reach in short time...chandryaan is based on gslv and it has limits of paying load...so to make vehicle less weight and cost effective and less fuel consumption this method is used....though more time required for this process but its a most cost effective and safe method....
Chandrayaan 2 is not flying directly to the moon, because India does not have powerful enough rockets like the Saturn V, to directly launch the space craft to lunar orbit. This is not a cost-saving decision. The more time you take to reach a destination, the more chances of something unplanned happening and things going wrong. Please fix this.
ISRO did make it to reach mars in 1st chance through this slingshot method... previously also chandrayaan 1 made it's path to the moon through this technology... this is cost saving .... less than half of the total budget of avengers end game ....
But more complications can arise by having too much fuel and burning too much at once. In this method there is alot of margin for error and we can easily fix things during flight
Good video. couple of things tho. Slingshot manoeuvre is not being used yo save fuel but because India does not have a rocket capable of pushing the 3.85 tonne weight of chandrayaan 2 composite at a speed to overcome earth's gravity towards the moon. Also slingshots are in elliptical shape and not spherical as you drew on the board.
Can u pls tel me the moon rotation by graphics . Why no shadow on south pole ? How the moon rotating by south pole to north pole or East pole to west pole ? Why south pole position is so tough to land ?
Once in orbit, as there is no friction in space, fuel is not required to keep the spacecraft in orbit, as it is aided by initial motion and Earth's gravity. While in orbit, there is no need to use fuel. Whereas, going against gravity in a straight line to the Moon requires fuel to power against gravity.
Burning at periapsis, ie, the closest point to the body of orbit is the most efficient. Continuous burning is not effective for getting from A to B, it is good for gaining speed. Gaining speed is not the goal, the goal is to get captured by the moon in a lunar orbit.
@@fullyawake8200 you need to consider force of attraction between two objects. F = (gravitational constant) (m1 x m2 / d^2). which means, if two objects are closer they have more force of attraction, the force of attraction does not drop linearly but exponentially if the two object are moving away (relatively). from the formula m1 and m2 are not changing, distance d^2 is in denominator, if distance decrease force increase, if distance increase force decrease exponentially (also know as inverse square law). this causes the orbit elliptical. hope you got it, Peace.
The water can be used for making rocket fuel and living there, because moon has very little gravity it is the only place from where we can launch another rocket to mars with less fuel
Good video, but this is certainly not slingshot maneuver, in that maneuver, spacecraft steals from the momentum of a much heavier planet, thus conserving fuel. My question is, when was spacecraft orbit made polar? Right from the launch, or after achieving lunar orbit? I am not getting this info.
Hey friend, I agree with you and I found this problem with many videos claiming to explain the Chandrayaan 2 mission. So I have made my own video to fix it: th-cam.com/video/05twTZYBqZk/w-d-xo.html I have used only simple terms and have taken much longer, but have done my best. Tell me what you think! 😊
Laeeq Khan, what Chandrayaan-2 is doing is definitely a sling shot maneuver aka gravity assist aka gravity boost... And it's gaining momentum by stealing from the momentum of earth (of course it's very very very minute for earth being such a massive body)... To your other question I believe it entered into the polar orbit of the Moon from the get go (the moment it entered into the moon's orbit)
@@writetophani It doesn't need to steal momentum from the Earth, it already has the momentum of the Earth when it is launched. This 'stealing the momentum' or not, is with respect to the Sun. Which isn't much in question right now. It was used by longer route missions like Voyager. Chandrayaan 2 is using 'Oberth Effect' during its earth bound maneuvers. Calling it slingshot or gravity assist will be a misnomer.

I have a doubt. Is lunar day 14 days? According to google it says, the lunar day lasts 29 days, 12 hours and 44 minutes. (And this the same time it takes for the Moon to orbit around the Earth. With respect to the background stars, however, the Moon only takes 27days and 7 hours for the sky to completely rotate back to its original position.)
MOM has only orbiter, where a Chandrayaan-2 has Orbiter, Lander and Rover. cost of making Lander and rover, fuel to take extra mass (Lander and Rover) makes this costlier than MOM. Hope you got the answer.
I think because of the cold waves for 14 days night period in the moon the rover cannot work. As it has solar panel on top of it; So according to my opinion I believe that the rover can only roam around the south pole of the moon for only daytime in the moon which lasts only for 14 days by using the solar energy.
