Zion Williamson and the Pelicans are at or near first place in the Western Conference. Making fun of this team and their superstar was common just a year ago but it’s crazy to see how wrong the media was about them. - กีฬา

The media is SO quick to criticize players when they have a slump. It's only fair they give them just as much respect when they're doing good.

Same feelin, but imho there’s positive side to it, like it’s actually motivational to some players/teams! Still ngl, they could tone it down a bit, esp Stephen A n crew. Only people that actually positively criticize w/out much exxageration imo is Barkley/Shaq crew. Stephen, Shannon exxagerate but on point most of time. Perk is learning I guess idk lol 🤷🏼♂️
Zion got criticised, even though at no point was his ability ever an issue. It’s bogus because whenever he plays he is elite. I despise when people dump on players undeservingly.

Zion's quality was never in question just his injury problems, which are still an issue. When he's on the floor everyone knows how freaking good he is
truly so so happy for Zion honestly, and he's having a bounce back season for sure, last year he was so nonexisting at all , but he's actually playing games
I love Zion's competitive spirit. He's a very fluid individual and I think he will eventually win a number of chips.

I am so happy for Zion man. I predicted that the Timberwolves would be a 4-5 seed this season and all my friends are laughing at me, but I was damn right about Zion coming back as a monster.

Jury's still out if No2 Morant isnt going to be the more successful player. However that is always dependent on random events, not predictable. Zion sure as shit gets asses in the seats and sells jerseys. Plus, he seems like a genuine, nice and smart dude.

The point you make about him not sharing what he eats in Thanksgiving is so true. It's hard to struggle with cravings and stay in shape, so I sympathize with Zion a lot. Him and Jokic are giving overweight folks some hope. I became a big fan of his this season

I was rooting for the Pelicans when they were trying to get in the playoffs. Was a lot more confident after seeing them push the Suns to 6 games WITHOUT Zion. This team is a beast in the making.
Being from NOLA I've been a fan since the hornets 😆. I'm more excited about this team than ever before. They have two studs in Zion and Ingram, with a bunch of young talent, and 3 players that can give 30 any night.

I thought all of Griffin's trades and decisions were sensible. The previous GM was kinda crazy refusing to trade AD. At the time, AD had 1.5 years left on his contract, and that was when he was worth the most. By summer, they would have been really screwed if the Lakers figured out that it was better to just wait a year and get him for nothing in free agency.
Zion got all the tools to be elite on defense. Happy for the kid.

I agree with 99% of what’s here, except that the Pels success “depends on Zion” … this bench is outrageously deep and has proven it can win without multiple starters! The beauty of this team as it stands is that so many incredible young players are consistently showing up to get the job done no matter what. I’m a New Orleans fan anyway, but this group - its energy, its supportive locker room culture, the fans’ passionate support - they just win your heart. They’re so much fun to watch. Can’t wait to see how they progress. Thanks for some good background info in Griff and how we got here. I’m so grateful we landed him. Also a big fan of Coach Green. Go Pels!
And yet they fell at the hands of 36 year old Chris paul. Without Zion, championship aspirations are out the window. HOWEVER, I could be wrong. Because at the end of the day, there's still BI and cj to deal with. Larry Nance, Jonas valanciunas providing more than enough of a presence in the paint. Trey Murphy bombing away. Alvarado and Jones with the clamps. And even then you got guys like naji marshall, kira lewis, dyson daniels. Top 10 offense and defense and the pelicans haven't necessarily been fully healthy this season. Even if it could boil down to Zion being impossible to guard, the pelicans are a real threat.
What happened to Zion will happen to victor that kid hasn’t even been drafted and the media is acting like he is averaging 62-42-37 I feel so bad for him too if he gets injured or averages 61-42-37 the media will call him the biggest draft bust in history and it’s sad

Saw pelicans twice in the past year, and I really like the roster. Even without Zion last Spring they were a tough tough team. Balanced Roster than can go small or big. Just a super versatile set of players. Dark horse champs. I should take the odds if I wasn't focused on paying off debt first

I'm pulling for Zion in a major way. They've been talking about his weight & size since high school. Obviously it has to be mentioned as it relates to his leaping ability & pressure on knees but it was extreme. Then the injuries started & he gained more weight & the reports, jokes, etc. Now he's shutting ppl up in a big way. Hopefully he stays healthy.

Let's be honest. The boy had ballooned, how he responded to the criticism is what matters. As an example Chuck can relate because he and Zion are not that different body type wise and he knows how carrying all that weight will affect your game.
He got himself in shape, recovered from his injury and playing the best ball of his career.

I don't think the media clowned on Zion. They were right about the weight and since he's lost the weight, he's able to stay on the court. I don't like HOW the media reported the weight but the concept is right, you have to be on a proper diet.
If you think calling a professional basketball player fat and mocking him by saying he eats everything in sight isn't clowning him then you are crazy. Even at his "fattest" he was still a professional basketball player and could run circles around any of the people who were trashing him.

Most was only stating the truth, if he wanted to stay on the court, he needed to change his diet. That's a fact. There were other ones who just made memes about him and those who did, were wrong.
