What a fantastic video! This is amazing content and well done. My wife and I are in the process of purchasing a Mid Century Modern home in NC built in 1958. This video was super informative. As someone said earlier, you are truly underrated. This is my first time watching a video of yours and figured this one would have had millions of views. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for the kind words. Congrats on you're purchase too! I hope closing all goes smoothly. I'd be curious to see what mid century modern is like in NC.
I was just algorithmically suggested your channel - with this video being my inaugural entry point into your content. OMG! I love everything about it! Your presentation style, your information, your images. Great channel. Thank you for this and keep up the great work. Cheers!
Good gracious sir! What a fantastic video! I bless you to find all that is ahead of you for the talents you have; may it be a peaceful growth and adventurous!
My apartment has the open walls so that you can look into different rooms while still getting the feel they are separate rooms. I been decorating it using the midcentury modern style and it looks amazing now.
One of the best organic videos explaining classic mcm architecture and architects. Thank you so much for this. If I see one more mcm video showcasing Target stuff, I'm going to go nutts.
I noticed the spray paint ACAB. I wonder if that Starbucks is still open. I have often travelled to Seattle. It was one of the most beautiful cities in the US. Now, not so much. I even considered moving there once. I love Eichlers. If I design and build another home, that’ll be the kind that I build.
Just bought a MCM in Louisiana circa 1956. It needs some work but my wife and I are committed to modernizing it while maintaining the classic MCM feel. Great video.
Man, you're so under rated. Keep putting out content like this and you'll be golden. Wife and I watch all your stuff, we've also appreciated some of your feedback on CityData, although at the time we didn't know it was you ;). If you are taking suggestions, we'd love to see a similar video to this on the Tudor high pitch roof houses all over Seattle. We currently live in Arizona but in the next few years will be relocating to your neck of the woods. We loved Green Lake, Laurel Hurst, Bryant, etc.
So happy to have found your channel, im looking at all the variety of shots as well as well as overall personality you bring to yours videos and I can only imagine the amount of effort and time it takes to produce such high quality videos. Definitely gotta reach out to you sometime over one of these platforms! Have a good week man!
I'm not sure if I'll ever get a home in Seattle, but I would if I could because of this video. Fantastic video, I love how you've packaged your content with the mid-centrury vibe. Thanks for the education as well.
Yes indeed! The style mostly originates from Le Corbusier and the Bauhaus school and Americans try to make it cheap and easily reproducible (which I suppose was Le Corbusier's dream as well but he was never able to make it happen at scale). I love everything that came out of Bauhaus.
Outstanding Video. You have a very informative and professional style. Please, please, please consider setting up a channel to document Mid Century Modern in your unique way !
Haha! Not like in CA for sure, but I've been finding some REALLY nice spots in the woods recently. I'm a little jealous of those Palm Springs MCMs lately though.
What a fantastic video! Thank you so much for putting all of this together!
This is a crossover in my interests I never expected! Watches and mid-mod architecture! 😂
@@conefcol000 happy the algorithm brought us together 😂
@@JenniElle Also surprised to find a well recognized name here! Go watches and mid-mod architecture.
I almost became an architect, ended up becoming a CPA, but I still love architecture. Mid century modern is amazing!
Breathtaking- this is how one does: contemporary, mid-century and minimalism. Absolute & total perfection. Looking up the architects now.
Holy moly, your production quality is absolutely superb! Wowza!
Thank you so much!

Very cool presentation. The topic addressed with proper regard. Thx man

OMG. everyone labeling everything as MCM is maddening. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks! That’s exciting, I love the MCMs with contemporary finishes.
So good. I'm not in Seattle, but everything about this video encapsulates why I ❤ MCM architecture. Well done.
Thank you so much! That was such a fun video to make.
I like the mid century microphone!
Great video. Searched for inspiration for bungalow I'm finishing and here I am.
Great video! God Job! I love the way the thin, tall beams cantilever over the porches.
That's one of my favorite design elements!
I just found your channel, this is a game changer!

That is so nice, thanks! I'm glad the house style went over, I love the Tudor houses, That's next on my list.
Always interesting content and well shot.
Super informative. I live near Palo Alto where many of these homes live. Many new homes here are exhibiting these traits you have mentioned.
It’s cool to see recent homes adopt some of these traits, it makes living in them much more pleasant.

Bahaus style from Germany influenced the modern movement a great deal as well.

Just Marvelous filmmaking here and your knowledge base of this architecture movement really gave me something new to think about! Thank you

Greetings from New Zealand, great work here, thanks, this was really educational & entertaining, looking forward to more of the same.
Can I get that type of house 🏡 in Austin Tx?
I love ur channel. Random you tube recommended. You have a new subscriber!!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Your a genius in your vid
That's so nice, thanks!
As a comedy show this ain't bad.
this host is excellent.
Wow! Love it!
love the cardboard model. so cool. makes me want to unbox my glue gun.
I'm not American, I had no idea "fair housing" existed. Now I'm wondering about my own country
Where is the 2020 modernist home in the USA?? ..NEW housing estates seem to be filled with identical Beaux Arts Amityville horrors.
I feel your pain!
@@ahomeinSeattle For those who may be interested in browsing modernist houses in Australia for an hour or 2 I recommend www.archivesmodaustralia.com/
I love your content but my price range is between a quarter to half of what the houses you are showing are being put up for.
There’s definitely a premium for these trendy homes! They cost quite a bit more than the median home price. They’re fun to look at least.
@@ahomeinSeattle That's true, they are trendy. Either way, it's cool to see that they exist up here! Thank you for showing!
Sometimes you gotta say "welp, I can't afford to live in X city". That's just the nature of life.
Good thing that guy was wearing a mask while playing piano by himself....
Awesome house though!
At first I thought he was like the Phantom of the Opera or something.
@@LeoFreemanAUST hahaha! That’s good!
There are virtually no mid-century modern homes in Seattle, or in the Pacific Northwest, for that matter. "Let's go to the library", lol.
Haha! Not like in CA for sure, but I've been finding some REALLY nice spots in the woods recently. I'm a little jealous of those Palm Springs MCMs lately though.
As soon as I heard his voice, I was out of there.
Wow, please get a new host. NOW.
You talk about it but you don't show anything, just one more trying to put their face on the internet ☹
He literally shows one at the end of the video?
I can't watch people like this. Just creeps me out how effem he acts. Men speak like men please.
I had to turn this off as soon as I saw the guy playing piano, alone, IN A MASK 🥴. Cringe worthy.
