Pokémon Run & Bun is at it's core a difficulty hack of Emerald, created by dekzeh. It is hard.
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Pokémon I find on each Route.
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
Extra Rules:
7. EVs are turned OFF

Yep, unfortunately if you convince yourself of something, it’s easier to convince someone else of it. I think they knew about the AI considering crit for moves and somehow conflated it with AI considering crit for Pokémon switching in.

No it doesn't. I discuss it in the next vod (not sure if its in the next HL). Later in the battle, vespiquen comes out against full HP hitmonlee instead of togekiss, proving that it does not see the guaranteed crit when calling switch-in ai (I know it sees it when calcing damage once in battle). But yes, delcatty was fast kill so even if togekiss did see the kill, it was always going Delcatty. And the chatter confidently said that togekiss would come out, so it was a double mistake, but as always, ultimately, it was my fault for not double-checking.

I'm only responding to quell the spread of misinformation, which is really easy to accidentally do with Pokémon AI. I appreciate the comment, but it is incorrect

I was pretty certain I've had another battle later in the game that worked this way but it's possible it was something I missed or it wasn't a post kill switch in and just a regular attack calc I'm thinking of. Thanks for the reply, totally valid. Glad you're playing this game hope you stick with it
