I am the author of this story and I went back to the bar last night as I knew she was no longer working there. I got pulled aside by the owner of the bar who apologised for the girl's behaviour but explained that she had no way of checking her previous track record due to covid. It turned out she also did the same thing with the owner of the bar, just showing up randomly and did a runner owing her part of the rent of the room which the other girls had to cover out of their pockets.
