They’re playing this whole EP and the track The Poetic Edda on the tour they just started 2 days ago 😭 never been so excited to see an opening band after 15 years and hundreds of shows
@@neotradnousyes. Saw them at the Metro as well. They did a great job of opening (especially for just their 2nd time ever live). But what an entire bill too.
THE ANSWER IS FUCK YES. It's incredible that this and The Poetic Edda was released in the same year. They are both so unique and of their own, but Malphasian is INCREDIBLE, literally them ascending through the levels in Hell.
As Hardcore Keem said, this band is set to literally explode, just like how Sleep Token did but in deathcore. Disembodied Tyrant will spread the new jumpscarecore in the scene.
Nah this band is way too good ppl don't like quality things otherwise sleeptoken, Lorna shore and so one wouldn't be famous, the first album which Blake did solo was already better than everything Lorna shore does
Little fun fact: I went and looked up the song name cause I got curious and basically the name is a play on the name “Malphas” In demonology, Malphas is a demon who first appears in Johann Weyer's Pseudomonarchia Daemonum. That work and the Lesser Key of Solomon describe him as a mighty Great President of Hell, with 40 legions of demons under his command and is second in command under Satan. That shit is just SICK🤘🏾
These guys are my new top Deathcore band. Even though I enjoyed The Poetic Edda better, these new songs are also a journey and they get better the more you listen to them. So they bring the same joy to me as the last EP. Blake Mullens is a musical genius and he’s pushing the Metal genre forward. 🤘🏽
The lvl of Chaos but still being able to put those melodies into these songs is unbelievable and undeniably A+++ work. To me it sounds like a mixture of infant annihilator and shadow of intent.
I swear I’ve heard that beginning part from somewhere. The part that sounds like it’s going backwards. EDIT: I did hear it before. It’s the Devils Trill Sonata.
I feel like Blake has been in a multi-year war with himself to repeatedly produce the heaviest breakdown in the realm of existence. And THOSE RIFFS...... pure hellish eargasm.
My bad if anyone knows this already and it's old news but ex Chelsea Grin vocalist alex kholer has a band with Pablo in a band named ameonna and it's a deathcore band so alex has been back
Man i just truly dont get how these guys aren’t bigger. Just blowing every other deathcore band away lately. There’s so much creativity here in a genre that I feel like can sound VERY samey
It was 1 guy until a few weeks ago, they played their first live show ever last week, and he's only put out a total of 12 songs, 6 of which came out in the last 5 months. And he's already at 200k Spotify listeners. They're going to absolutely EXPLODE if they can tour the majority of the next 12 months
This might be a hot take but, I love every section of these songs and they sound absolutely insane, the riffs, the vocals, the production and the creativity are off the fucking charts. Absolutely some of the best deathcore I've heard however, it doesn't have too much replay value for me, as amazing as these songs are it's almost a little...too much, the breakdowns are insane yes but the amount of constant tempo changes and insanely heavy breakdowns starts to get super fatiguing at least for me. Insane music but would have to be in a specific mood to listen to it Poetic Edda def has more replay value for me personally.
I still think I'd have to say I like the poetic Edda EP more than this one, but that being said, Icarian might be my new favorite from them. Midsection of the song is soo tasty
THIS is the best fucking things ever! BROOOTTHHERRR Im going to see them TOMORROW with Shadow Of Intent, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Ingested and fucking Zenith Passage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I kinda disagree with your added con, I think the inserts perfectly match the theme of the EP as they have tons of heavy electronic elements while also still having the classical themes and tones throughout. So I think it matches the whole, current day meets classical era. I do feel bad for DT tho because they came out the gate at such a high level that its gonna be hard to match what we would now consider a standard for them, while other bands get far more leeway and really only have 1 to 2 elements they focus on. Im not saying they deserve a pass in criticism by any means, but I do think they more then almost anyone are finding ways to incorporate as much as possible and still have it be listenable and enjoyable which I hope encourages other bands to attempt to add more tasty spice to their sound as well.
I’m in the minority… this is meh to me. Seemed like the goal was to out groove Darko US, out Lorna Lorna Shore, and out thall Buster. While it’s a creative mix of the three I don’t think it excelled at any of them…
What's your favourite song off The Tower: Part One?
Malphasian but they're all bangers
If the answer isn’t Malphasian, you’re still correct. because they’re all perfect
Icarian shows that they are just the kings at writing creative breakdowns
Malphasian
It's Malphasian for me hands down. They really saved the best for last!
I've never heard something so heavy that still manages to sound this good
Have you heard about Mental Cruelty, Black Tongue or Bound in Fear?
Infant Annihilator.
@@alexschmidt3034 Infant Annihilator actually misses both of those marks
Lorna Shore?
@@riccardo_masut their last album is too lame sorry

They absolutely slapped, literally only their second show ever when I saw them last night.

Kinda wish we got a LITTLE more time with that last riff in Malphasian, damn that was crispy.
Dude I thought the same thing. That shit was awesome, made me so sad it was only 23 seconds or so
Gotta leave them wanting more. We've got even more parts to come (it seems).

6:40 is a riff that I wish had gone longer. that shiz is so good
I get to see them live in a couple weeks and I don't think I could be more excited
Saw them last night with Shadow of Intent and they both went fucking insane! 🤛🏻
I was there with ya
That hellish visceral panic scream at 12:56
Chills, literal chills!!!!!
sounds like filthy frank. SO GOOD!

Couldn't agree more. I was extremely "meh" on most deathcore, and still am, but I'll happily listen to anything these guys put out.
Damn this is crazy, cant wait to see them this week.
These guys have set the bar so high and are still managing to top it… Absolutely insane
i cannot wait to see this live next weekend. Its gunna be sick.
Just saw them on Saturday. They sounded awesome! My friend and I talked with Blake for a little bit and he said Poetic Edda took three years!
“Torn from taint to skull…”
Right, sheeeesh

for me the replay value is almost inconceivable, i cannot stop spinning all of their songs
this track is heavy, at least 4.75 Lizzo’s.
that's pretty fuckin heavy

The pits for this live would be absolutely insane
Aberrant Waltz es una de las mejores canciones que he escuchado en mi vida.
Blue Man Group went Deathcore finally on the first track
Hahaha
😂😂
😢 im broke and couldn't go see them tonight. This is by far my new favorite band. Love the random grooves a lot.
I want to know the story with that fucking scream in malphasia. It could easy be a sample of someone accidentally falling into the grand canyon 😂

GOD DAMN SON
Kings ❤
This is top tier deathcore. It's pretty experimental for the genre.
You have to check is first album its already better than most deathcore
I watched this 9 days ago and the hair on my arms are still standing up. Send help.
This should be called 'Ode to Satan!' 😈😨🤘

Heavy as fuck
This Band Needs Release Albuns And Not EPs
Brand of sacrifice who?
10/10
I also really really liked the neoclasicall elements of Poetic Edda. This one is still good but not as much of a banger for me
Sound wise. Dope. But lyrically makes me cringe. Which I know is pretty stereotypical in this regard.
It sounds a little bit like Mirar as well.
Definitely got that vibe during the last song
"What deathcore albums start like this?" Mental Cruelty that you have checked on this channel 😂
Doesn't come close... there's a difference between symphonic deathcore and neoclassical dc. A chasm of difference.
oh god, genre elitists. y'all cringe. just enjoy the fucking music
