I've been thinking about modding some of my invictas not quite brave enough yet but if I do I believe they will be the ones that go to because of the Seiko movement being so reliable and well-known and the watches did not cost me a fortune in the first place
😎 yup good place to start - the first ones will either go brilliantly or epic fails!! it's good fun either way and the vostoks are also really cheap and lots of parts available 😜
@@thetimebombardier I'll be on vacation next week and I plan to sit down and watch that movie everyday I get home from work I'm already whooped just 95 degree heat is just wearing me out also I reached out to that company zero West I haven't heard anything back yet hopefully I will
@@mr.eswatchreviews awesome - plenty of similar movies to that one also to keep you occupied, another favourite of mine is Ice Cold in Alex, it's such an underrated movie and has something else to it that other popular movies lack!!

😮Hello, I picked up a Seiko 7002-7001 that appears to be in very good condition and keeps accurate time. However, it has a Mickey Mouse themed face with a blue background. I am unable to find any info on the watch online and would like to determine if it is original and some idea of the value. I also own a Seiko 6309-7049 that I bought in 1981 so I am somewhat familiar with these watches. Can you possibly shed some light on this unusual piece? Thanks.
Hey Mike yup the disney and snoopy themed dials are quite common even today several brands are still releasing them 👍😎 personally I don't get them but clearly they are popular 👍
@@thetimebombardier Thanks for responding. It is a bit of a novelty item, but it is in such excellent condition that I couldn't resist for $35 CDN. Cheers
Lovely little timepiece. I have the same one, bought for just over a hundred dollars from a Bahranian jeweler in Saudi Arabia a few weeks before the 1991 ground invasion. It ran well for many years, then slowed down to the point of being completely unreliable. Had Seiko Service Center refurb it -- for nearly twice what I paid for it -- it ran well for another couple of years, then started speeding up and then slowing down, again, to the point of unreliability. Still looks good, though. lol I now switch between a Seiko SNE109 solar (my "beater") and a Turtle re-issue SRP775. Love the accuracy and uniqueness of the orange 109, adore the heft and legacy of the Turtle. Still, I miss wearing my old 7002-7001. It sits in my drawer with my other Seikos and looks so lonely and sad. :( I'm interested in trying to get it working again ... by my own hand this time ... if I gom it up, I can always send it out, right? lol Thanks for all you do!
Hey Zen thank you dude and wow '91 was a huge build up on the border, killing time in the PX perhaps?? LOL and the orange version of the SNE is kinda rare nowadays!! I've been struggling to source some parts for this one but have had some success so will adding up a video on the next stages soon, the dismantling vid is up already and all those tiny parts make me realise why i have a friend doing the rebuilding as I know for a fact I'd mess it up!!! welcome to the channel sir!!
@@thetimebombardier Yeah, they had several rows of vendors in the underground parking lot at Kobar Towers. I was on a logistics run from out in the boonies and took a couple of hours to "shop 'til ya drop!" lol I'm kinda shocked at how the SNE has become such a prized rarity -- I've seen them on eBay for twice what i paid for mine. Crazy considering it was one of those watches that some hated and others loved. lol The only issue I had with mine was the paint coming off the numbers in the bezel. I scrubbed it clean, sprayed some black gun epoxy pain in a dish and painted in the numbers using a toothpick. Still looks good despite some "love marks" ;) and keeps amazing time after all these years. At one point I thought about replacing the bezel ... there's a guy who makes (or used to make) traditional dive watch bezels to fit the SNE series, but I never could get the darned thing off, so I just left it. Anywho, good luck on your project ... I'll be tracking and maybe work up the courage to take off the back of mine. lol
