- For sheer pageantry and spectacle, few motion pictures can claim to equal the splendor of Cecil B.DeMille's 1956 remake of his epic "THE TEN COMMANDMENTS" filmed in Egypt and Sinai with one of the biggest sets ever constructed for a motion picture.. I saw this epic movie as a 10 year old in 1956, It is STILL!! the greatest biblical movie ever made, I'm now 72 and it still resonates as a true miracle to all of the world!!!.

The way he plays Moses is just incredible. Just look at the way he treats the tablets once God is done carving them, incredible work

to be,was epic!They should put this movie back in theaters.Whatever they use,

This and the parting of the Red Sea is by far the best parts of this movie. I watch this movie every year on Easter Sunday as a tradition. I have this on DVD so I can see every detail of my favorite parts.

It's the still small voice of the Holy Spirit, that speaks in the midst of you, as the voice actor did here when he says, "Go, get thee down. For thy people have corrupted themselves". It's different for others.

Great movie a true classic. And not just from a technological point of view when it comes to filming and acting but also a great story. I loved this movie when I was a kid and honestly still brings a tear to my ear
This scene from the first time I saw it as a child to now as a senior brings those tears of acceptance as they should. Cecil B DeMille's depiction of this point in the Bible is portrayed as good as it gets and hits the nail when GOD cuts the stone reinforcing his power. This is by far the greatest biblical interpretation of those events EVER put or ever shall be put on film. Amen

Fatimah Kwape The scene takes place when "Moses" is a young man, right after he discovers that he is actually Hebrew, and not the true son of Pharaoh, so desiring to identify with his people, he begins to work as a slave himself. The old man is an Israelite slave who gets stabbed by one of the Egyptian 'task-masters' in front of Moses that day. The Israelites knew that God would send them a HUMAN DELIVERER to rescue them out of their bondage. Also, no man can see the face of God and live, so it's obvious he was referring to beholding the face of this human deliverer before dying. The point is that God DID in fact answer the old man's prayer! Only he did not know that young Moses was this deliverer, (and at that time, Moses did not even know it himself yet).

I was just a little girl (3 years old) when I first saw this movie. Over 40 years later, this is STILL my favorite movie.
I love Moses, I love Jehovah God, and I love His power to save all those who are His.
Even though this film was inaccurate, the spirit of it speaks volumes.
Shame that this event, The Exodus from Egypt, brought so much recognition and glory to Jehovah, and even in Exodus chapter 9 He says these events were meant to bring due recognition to His name, and yet through the entire movie it isn't even mentioned once, though in the original Hebrew Bible it shows up multiple times. The one time it appears in the movie is in the first two lines burned onto the tablets in Paleo-Hebrew - literally 'Anokhi Yahowah 'Eloheykha/I am Jehovah your God'.

This scenes proves that God listens to his children on earth and how instantly he sometimes answers...Moses wonders what he has not yet done and God's presence immediately appears to give him the Commandments 😊😊.

The law was given to Moses by God to show that we all have a fallen sin nature. There is not a person on the face of the earth who can say I have no sin, remember it only takes one time to tell a lie to become a lier, it only takes one time to steal something to become a thief, it only takes one time to cheat on your spouse to become an adulterer, and the wages of these sin and all sin is death. But I thank God for his grace and mercy through his son Christ Jesus who died on Cavarys cross and shed his precious blood to atone for our sins....amen.

The purpose of the law was to make people aware of their sinful nature and the need for the Savior Jesus Christ.
I wasn't aware that this movie was filmed in 1956. The first time I saw it was at a drive in theater in the Dallas TX area around maybe 1972...I was and still am so inspired and awestruck.

When we say that Christ is "purely human", we do not in any way mean that He is "without spirit". Man according to Apostle Paul, is composed of "spirit, soul and body" (I Thess. 5:23).

By the phrase "purely man", we mean that Jesus Christ does not have dual nature-that of a man and that of God. The Bible clearly teaches that man is not God (Ezek. 28:2) and God is man (Hos. 11:9). Christ declared that He is a man (John 8:40), therefore, He is not God.
“Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ Because your heart is lifted up, And you say, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, In the midst of the seas,’ Yet you are a man, and not a god, Though you set your heart as the heart of a god. (Esek. 28:2, NKJV)

But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. (John 8:40, NKJV)
Thus, although our Lord Jesus Christ was born of extraordinary circumstances, the truth remains that He was conceived and created, thus, He is not God but man.

The following verses proves that Jesus died as a man and therefore He is not God.
Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Father! In your hands I place my spirit!" He said this and died. (Luke 23:46, TEV)
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!'' And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. (John 19:30, NKJV)
Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it. (Eccle. 12:7, NKJV)
The fact that when Jesus died He placed and gave up His spirit to God the Father is proof enough that He died as a man, because when a man dies his spirit will return to God who gave it. Thus, the very fact that Jesus died as a man is undeniable proof that He is not God, because God is immortal (I TRim. 1:17).

Jesus was fortold as walking among us in fact God promised Adam & Eve from the fall in the garden that he would provide a way back for humanity!!! but please don't get this confused with God's will or plan, as essentially God will was alway's to walk among his creation!!! this is why lucifer fell as he believed we weren't only to inferior to create but WHY ...WHY would the creator of the universe wish to walk among such creatures???? and also that we would bring a wedge between he, his breathren and God!!! this is why he tempted Eve in the garden knowing if her curiosity won the better of her and her husband Adam it would seal their fate and distance them from God!!! but he is all his pride, malice and contemt forgot that nothing can prevent God's will!!! The Bible is utterly silent on exactly how Jehovah gives Moses the Tablets of the Decalogue. It doesn't tell us what Moses saw, it doesn't say the angel appeared as a Pillar of Fire at that point, so what blows my mind, is The Imagination of Cecil B DeMille and co. to have the Pillar of Fire's most epic appearance be at this point, with mesmerized Moses continually trying to see what's written while also dodging the fiery 'fingers' of this Divine Presence as it transcribes these words with fire. Moses HAS to keep looking on but also keeps hesitating, out of fear, respect, humility...leaping out of the way... Who woulda thought of making this Biblical event so Dynamic???? Classic, Epic, Brilliant 😎😎👏👏💖💖
