This is a proper simulator game dedicated vr headset ,hope to see people move into vrs that properly run these games since most vrs are only aimed at light games.
There definitely seems to be fewer products for the simulation end of the market despite huge demand! Pimax will do well if they keep targeting sim gamers.
BeamNG VR mode really requires complete smoothness otherwise it can feel pretty sickening. I think this headset is a huge step up in the clarity for BeamNG.
6:34 a 27" 1440p screen at a relaxed viewing distance (80cm) is 60ppd (the same as 20/20 vision, or almost double the crystal light) or at a more average viewing distance (70cm) is 52ppd (50% more than the crystal light), you also need to keep in mind that 35ppd the crystal light is advertised as is only in the center of the screen, it gets less dense the farther you are from the center.
Brilliant video, sir! I'm excited to get my Pimax CL, and this helped a lot. May I ask if you had any trouble fitting your audio headsets on over the VR? Thank you in advance! ✨️🙏
Dang this VR headset sounds promising! I do use a Quest 2 as well and in contrast to that headset, motion sickness seems to be less of a problem while using the Crystal Light, as well as how games look and are displayed. If I need a new VR headset in the future, I might think about getting one of these 👍
I think it's a huge upgrade over the Quest 2! The Pimax does require a little bit of setup with OpenXR software but I've found it to be much smoother due to it connecting directly to your GPU
The FOV is considerably wider up to 110 degrees horizontal compared to 104 for the Quest 3. I felt far more immersed than with my Quest 2, but I haven't used a Quest 3 in person so I can't really judge it against that!
How you run ETS 2 so smooth with rtx4070? Maybe i did wrong even i have reverb g2 with rtx4080. Maybe its a openxr performance which i cant setup it with ets2 and played with steamvr.
I love it, but mine arrived damaged so it's getting replaced. Hopefully sooner than later. It's a perfect headset for sim games if you have the PC power. Nothing compares at the price point right now. They also provide decent customer service, which is important when spending this much money on a device sent from China.
Thanks for watching! I may not create a guide video but I will be covering different racing games in the future! Especially comparing it to how it feels to use the Pimax VR headset against just using a screen.
@@fenn_fren Well anyway. I should have said that ETS2 in VR mode is graphically intensive. Outside VR it's a very easy to run game but VR mode is incredibly poorly optimised. They need to work on it!
@@SimulatorAdventures Yeah, I hope it'll eventually get fully integrated at some point. Unfortunately, VR isn't really that mainstream. But one day, we may have better support in our games. I really love the one BeamNG has. Slamming virtual doors is so fun!
This video is not sponsored and no money has changed hands at this time. I am a Pimax affiliate so I do receive a small cut of any purchases made through the link in the description. The headset was also sent to me for free for review
I sold my crystal and kept the quest 3 couldn't stand the bulkiness the chromatic aberration sucked and the clarity over the quest 3 was no were near as much as what I was hoping and the pancake lenses on the q3 are better then the crystal also no where near worth the price q3 is far better headset all round in my opinion. get off the q2 dude mine just sits there these days just looks blurry and smudgy compared to q3
I don't think the Crystal Light is bulky at all. I haven't used the Quest 3 yet because I don't think it's a big enough upgrade over the Quest 2. In terms of specifications the Quest 3 doesn't come close to the Crystal Light so I would be very surprised if it really was clearer.
@@SimulatorAdventures I never said it was clearer but for myself it's pretty dam close to the point I don't miss the crystal . and as for a jump from the q2 was a big diffrence for me in more ways then 1

the ets music is BANGIN in the intro
Love using that soundtrack in videos :D
I remember watching Muye's video were he also used VR for Beamng, from what I remember, he did feel more motion sick than you.

Would love to see a comparison of this vs quest 3
That would definitely be fun but I'm not sure how big of an upgrade the Quest 3 is from the 2, so I never upgraded!

@SimulatorAdventures Yeah. The OpenXR setup would be worth it though heh
Nice! How does the FOV compare to the quest 3? Do you feel like you are more in the car than in the Quest 3?

That's great to hear about the customer service! Hopefully you will get it all sorted quickly, I'm loving the headset so far 😀
Cool sim
Thanks for watching!
Hi Pimax Dragon here, thanks for the video!
Do you have plans to make a racing sim configuration guide video?
Thanks for watching! I may not create a guide video but I will be covering different racing games in the future! Especially comparing it to how it feels to use the Pimax VR headset against just using a screen.
Is there a difference between vr with a link cable vs hdmi?
Yes. I've found connecting directly to your GPU has less glitches and is much smoother.
I have a rift it might be time for a upgrade
This would be a big upgrade!
How do you get so high fps in beamng? I have a quest 2 and get bad fps, dose upgrading your vr upgrade performance or just visuals?
Upgrading your VR system will usually decrease performance unless you upgrade your PC too because the screen resolution is higher
@@SimulatorAdventures I have a 3060 should i upgrade and to what?
@@sdg234thjas It depends on the game. Check the recommended specs for your favourite VR games. It also depends on your CPU

@@sdg234thjas I can't really make a recommendation but anything like a 3070 or 4070 or above should be fine
ETS 2 graphically intensive? I ran it in VR at a stable 120 FPS on a STEAM DECK.
I highly doubt that

I wouldnt stamp it unless it runs on ACC....at Max Settings.... NO HEADSET/PC is doing it 🛑
Looks like it weighs a ton though
It's slightly heavier than the Oculus Quest 2 at 815g. I haven't noticed it's weight because the the headstrap is pretty comfy imo.
