    i love those tires on mine. a cheap elastic mesh seat cover was a really great mod for hot days. also a cheap dual usb with battery voltage monitoring adds quite a bit of ease keep devices running. eventually i had to change the handle bars to protaper's atv highs and the lager double take mirrors due to a spill at speed. enjoy that machine, it been one of my favorite bikes.

    GREAT VID! Extra fuel?? Yipes! My X300 has a 300 mile range. You must have a serious trip planned. I have the same Rotopax set up on a dirt bike that only has a 110 mile range. I'll check your main page for your trip. Thanks loads / great ADV bike so long as I respect the limited suspension range. I've done one interstate trip / Jeep trails and highway and the bike did great in everything (except deep sand). Keep us posted. Thanks loads!

      We were going to do the Oodnadatta track last year, canceled twice due to C-19. We are now going to hit the track Sept.2022 🤞
      The track is out in the desert with minimal fuel options hence fuel cell. Yeah the Versys gets great fuel mileage, but depending on the track conditions the bike might use a bit more fuel. Better safe than sorry.
      Will be doing a few rides this year, catch-up for the trip’s missed due to Covid restrictions.
      Thanks 🙏

    Excellent adds on
    Those little changes make the bike to be more comfortable and efficient but mostly gives you a good feeling!!!!!
    Well done!!!
    Note: Vibration with those tires in tarmac are completely normal, so hit the rough terrain 😁

    Some great upgrades Mate. The bags in the crash bars are a great idea. All bikes need a center stand, take care Mate.

    As always, your video was totally worth the click and the time. I just picked up a V-Strom 650 this week and I'm looking to see what sort of things I should add to it. Hopefully, your trip goes well.

      Thanks man. Sadly, kind of, the previous owner bought almost every add-on that someone could get for one. I guess I'll just have to run more gas through it, since there's anything to buy. 😁

    I made "shorty" levers by putting the stock levers in the vice and bending them until they broke-off.

    All interesting upgrades. Can you please give me some details of your Chinese T-Rex copy skidplate?

    • @DodgerMohr
      @DodgerMohr  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I purchased this skid plate on eBay. It’s not my first choice of bash plates but one I could get at a reasonable price. If I was to recommend a SkidPlate, Ricochet probably make the best one, more sturdy & better design. The Chinese T-Rex is a copy & probably ok for minor hits or stone deflation.

    • @gianlucajandelli6387
      @gianlucajandelli6387 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DodgerMohr Thx. T-Rex has also a heavy duty version of it. In reality I am concerned if this skid plate works on the Versys 250 too which I own, do you know anything about it?

    Hi Dodger
    I put an after market skid plate I my VX3 and there is a horrible vibration noise. Very annoying and embarrassing.
    Did you have similar issues with your skid plate? Any suggestions on how to get rid of the noise?

    • @DodgerMohr
      @DodgerMohr  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. There is a little bit of vibration & noise from the plate. I don’t think you can do much to improve it.

    • @thecaptain6994
      @thecaptain6994 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you think a silicon washer rated for 500 degrees might work? The noise from mine is a deal breaker.

    • @DodgerMohr
      @DodgerMohr  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might work.

    • @thecaptain6994
      @thecaptain6994 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@DodgerMohr I put the silicone washers on with some locktite along with 3 coats of underbody sound deadening spray on the skid plate. Worked like a charm. Not a sound! I bought the silicone washers on Amazon.
