  • Dogs and Food and Gas and Travel. It's a wonder videos ever get made with all that going on. It's enough to frazzle most travelers. We got out of here pretty unscathed. The future of this journey though, could be different.

That's excellent advice. Once get-there-itis sets in, it's very hard to enjoy the day. If you're always living for the future, the present is never savored.

Marty, like so many of your subscribers, I'm totally addicted to your video postings. Over the last six years, I've watched most of them and loved them all (especially the "Po' man's" triple build!). You don't know me from Adam and yet because of what you do here on YT, I consider you a good friend who I simply haven't met yet. Crazy right?
It was also a hoot to watch you grow your audience from around 25k subscribers when I first subscribed back in the day to over 250,000 now. So trust me when I say it doesn't matter if you post vids from last month, yesterday, today or next week - we just love to see you doing your thing (with the pups and Mike too!) And although I have yet to undertake this particular journey, it is my understanding that when you're running the Great Loop, time really loses its hold on you. So don't feel remorseful or bad or anything negative about the fact that your editing and posting might be a month behind, because brother, five years from now, it will all be there all at once for the binge!
While I'm at it - I thought I'd offer a little running commentary on this most recent upload. Hope you don't mind! lol
0:10 - Your editing and production are spot on even if the level of production isn't cuz I for one definitely feel what it's like to be there with you!
0:53 - We do and we are!
1:05 - Wow, the time lapse of those clouds literally rolling in was soooo cool! More Marty! More!
1:50 - Time to take the pups for a walk. Why does that feel so satisfying? Oh, cool street names, cool mini boats, pups and flar-da - that's why!
2:50 - She's barking cuz she wants to play! Dogs and Dingies could be the name of a boat!
3:45 - Yepper, those docking skills need some work Marty
    4:00 - Wait for it . . . wait for it . . . wait for it . . . wait for it . . . GO!
4:20 - Bye-bye Marty as he exits stage right! lmao
    5:05 - Mike hitting the gas - High-sterical!!!
5:20 - Ft. Pierce is one of FLA's true gems!
5:45 - You're jealous? Are you freaking kidding me? (says the guy living in currently freezing NJ)
6:25 - Seriously? That''s enough provisions to last for a "Couple of weeks?" Damn bro, that ain't enough provisions to get me through to Saturday, which is only four days from now!
6:55 - Banks suck! Nuff said.
7:25 - Every view is pretty when it's a view from the water!
    7:45 - Awkward! :/
9:00 - Okay, time to see if Mike has really lost it. Hmmmmm - nope!
9:34 - I hear ya Marty - but remember, there will be many future opportunities to do it your way by yourself - and acknowledging Mike was very gracious of you!
10:15 - Karma is about to make her debut today!
    10:35 - Fuel - $100: Provisions - $75; That look on Marty's face - Priceless! ROFLMAO
11:00 - You could of just said "I told him so" - but the fire analogy fit the moment - more lols
12:00 - Rut Ro - Sounds ominous! Learning lessons are usually not cheap! So stay tuned everybody for the next installment of "How the lessons are learned!"
    *Fade to black*

It is difficult to keep edited videos up to date. I'm still pushing out December content. It's a good thing these cold winter moths have kept me off my kayak otherwise I'd never catch up.

@@AdventuresofHappyOurs I have two external hard drives. One is 6 TB the other is 5TB. In December we pretty much filled up the 5TB one. My go pro service supposedly gives me unlimited cloud storage, but the upload speeds make it almost impossible to use.

at 8:55 when leaving the dock there. You could have kept the rear spring on and used it to turn away your bow from the dock. When clear of the dock untie it and blast off. Always a pleasure watching your videos, its a nice reminder of how things could be when they were normal.

I've never piloted a big twin-screw. When you see the guys who are good at it, it's like magic what they can do. I will say the one's who've really impressed me always made great use of a spring line when it was an option.

Great video Marty! Loving the adventure! I think you might be able to buy more than $100 worth of gas on a debit card if you pay inside the station? Leave the attendant your debit card or ID then pay when finished. Might be worth a try

You have a twin engine vessel, did you know you can move it sideways using engine power alone? No need to wait for Mike to push you off. In Ft. Pierce you were tied up port side to the dock. Turn the helm opposite the direction you want to move, in this case full to port. Simultaneously “split the sticks”, moving the starboard engine to reverse and the port to forward. Then move your hand to the throttles to correct any turning which might start. Only a little above idle on one of the engines fixes most rotation or sliding. Practice in calm water and wind until you get it down. Then you can leave a tight berth with no worries.

Not all who wander are lost... but what I have seen in other channels (Old Seadog and RAN Sailing) is that they post about 20-30 min of content on a weekly basis. It usually has a lag of a month or two behind where they are presently but seems to be a manageable pace for them to keep up with editing while keeping the audience engaged since they already know to expect a video once a week (consistency retains value). Leave the present-day updates for Facebook and Instagram. Just my 2 cents on the matter, hope it's helpful.
