- While at anchor it can be tough to do simple things like going to the store to get beer. During this trip, I wax on about a lesson in worry that a friend taught me. Please take it with a grain of salt because I DO often lock things up to prevent theft. But not always. Sometimes we just have to have faith that not everyone is out to get us and that things will be alright without us keeping a death grip on our possessions.

Marty; I'm a 56 year old man who had worried way too much in his life. I suffered a stroke about a year ago and it taught me that I wasted a lot of years and a lot of my health by working and worrying too much. I pray that people figure this out much sooner rather than much later in their lives. Btw, I discovered your channel shortly after my stroke and I have to say that your videos have done much more for me than all of my "therapy". May line be tight and your beer cold!

Brother, I use to worry all the time. Especially when a close friend of mine and a Captain of the department I’m on passed away one night in the recliner here at the station. After that I was constantly stressing over my Heath and even having occasional panic attack. I’m better now and I just stopped worrying. What’s gonna happen will happen and there’s nothing we can do about it. We just need to make the best of each day and try our damndest to enjoy what life we have on this earth. And take the occasion nap here and there 😂. 35 years old, but I enjoy a good nap sometimes. Take care my friend and enjoy the poker game known as life, play the cards you have been dealt and when you get a decent hand take advantage. Because if your like me, they don’t come too often 😂.

From law enforcement: Majority of thefts (by a multiple factor) involving dinghies aren't people stealing the dinghies, it's opportunists stealing the unlocked outboards off the dinghies (especially smaller units that can be easily carried by a single person). Outboards are far easier to resell than a dinghy hull with a HIN reported as stolen and no title.
If you can only choose one, it makes far more sense to just keep the outboard locked up to the dinghy, than keeping the dinghy locked up to the dock.
And if either one gets stolen, you've just stranded yourself and the dogs. WoW ! Whoo'd Thunk it ? At least he can drink to it, I guess? Really taken a chance in todays screwballed world of anarchists, political victims and government moochers.

So many good points in the video - I know people and work with them, constantly worried that someone is "stealing their tools" and always carrying a loaded piece under the seat etc. Meanwhile I don't stress, half the time my door is unlocked (not to say I'm unprepared, I just don't advertise it) nobody has stolen anything in over 25 years. You can't stress about material goods that can be replaced. Meanwhile half my youtube suggestions are these channels screaming FEAR FEAR FEAR that there is an imminently pending depression and we must hoard goods (which is what leads to shortages) etc... meanwhile, I'm not buying it. Grew up with "Oh my god the Communists are going to nuke us" and it never happened. I'll keep watching Marty's updates and will be glad to ferry him a 18 pack of Bud Lights if I'm in town when he swings through Savannah.
I’ve got the Hangkai 6 hp 2 stroke and absolutely no problems. Always starts on first pull. It’s an exact replica of the Merc. It’s the only engine I could get during Covid and without paying thousands. Highly recommended.
One hour for a case of beer. Worth it!

Martys' and the boats on screen were moored or on mooring balls. Professionally installed fixed installations (anchors) that boaters rent to tie off to to keep their boat from dragging anchor and vanishing in the wind or waves and crashing into stuff. As long as your not in a restricted area or a sea lane and have guts enough to leave your boat on anchor and leave the boat, free parking. Remember previous videos where Marty and Mike talk about dragging anchor when they've just anchored off and not on a mooring.

The only time I lock my home is when I am in it. Otherwise I leave the house unlocked. If someone wants to steal my stuff I would rather not have to fix a window or a door. Look, someone is willing to risk life and limb they will get it one way or another. HOWEVER, if they break in while I'm in the house it will be an entirely different story. I will need a professional hazmat cleaning crew and I will be the one making the mess!
