- Ortona Lock stood between K.T. and her destination today. And the wind was predicted to blow 20 to 30mph. The early morning is usually calm so I woke up before the sun to see what was what and if I had enough muchness to get this last leg of my journey with only one motor behind me. Once I made it to Glades Boat Yard, my boat would get yanked from the water and I would have my work cut out for me.

I recognized this place from when Good Times got pumped out crossing Okeechobee. It's amazing your storytelling has come so far I can get deja vu and recognize landmarks just by watching a video.

If you ever get back here, look up Short Cakes at the Labelle airport. My wife and I own the resturaunt. Well done! Not easy conditions at all. I'm sure 1000's of people have already posted this, but when you're pinned on to a wall like that, you can drive it like a single screw. Large fenders on the stbd shoulder, wheel to stbd then a quick burst of that port engine to kick the stern out into the wind then back away. Hopefully not something you'll have to face again for a while! Safe journey, looking forward to the next video.

Love the choke! Had similar issue on my mercruiser with choke thermal spring. I simply tightened (or loosened) it so, that when tho motor is at idle, the intake is closed, but as you get past 1000 rpm, it opens just by the airflow itself...worked fine while waiting for the replacement.

Hey Marty. I realize you might have already got both motors running again but it might be interesting to see what your MPG (or GPM) is when running single versus both motors! Just a thought. Happy travels and thanks for the great content!

that is the auto-pilot. No issues as that is how they sound when done manually.
It'll be great for you when you have both engines to work with I know that wind can be very stressful with only one motor running

The giant aloe vera type plant, is actually called a century plant, and it is actually quite rare.
It grows very slow, and it gets its name because it only blooms once every century,so its a special occasion, and also very beautiful! If im wrong please don't get all mad and attacking my intelligence i might be wrong about weather or not it is actually the plant but there is actually a century plant!done
My late wife had (has) several aloe plants as indoor plants. They are quite hardy if you don't overwater them. I figure if the plants can live with my care only then just about anyone can grow them. I really think the key thing is to NOT overwater?

It's not what you do, it is how you look doing it. If it goes sideways and you pretend like you meant it, nobody would notice. In all seriousness wind on water is tough. While kayaking in my hobie pro angler a squall came through a few years back. The typical 50-60 mph winds that we get with them crazy storm fronts. I was pedaling as fast as I could into the wind and still was moving backwards. I ended up being pushed against aquatic vegetation with nose to the wind and drenched in rain and spray. When its blowing there is very little you can do when you do not have umpf to overcome.
The wind is not your friend Marty.....that was a rough landing.

It was going to be scrapped before he bought it (two dead engines). Astroturf is for the dogs, most boats with dogs - even multi-million dollar superyachts - will have a patch of astroturf.... Welcome to the real world where different people have different needs & tastes.
Boats are like people, they all have their own personality, usually coinciding with their owners....
I think the Kon Tiki III perfectly fits Marty. Personally, I love what he’s done to her.
