The funniest part about earl is he is the only blacklist member that is mentioned to be scared that you will actaully beat him so the guy is literally giving it everything he's got to win.
@KieXer I didn't remember which member was a scared one but when I read the title I knew it was him, because the entire blacklist was trivial to beat, I probably haven't restarted the races over 10 times in total (excluding Earl), except the Drag races, they have a learning curve to remember which lanes to take if you don't want to not use the brake. I haven't even restarted once when I beat the top 4 members but the race against Earl was the one I needed to restart 3-4 times. He was definitely the hardest to beat.
At least in this game. Back in Underground 2, it was always better to have a head start and cross the finish line about 10 seconds or more before the next one does for max reputation.

It's the game combined with the track, not the enemy. The game was something, which is called a "rubberband-effect" in your language in it's standard-settings. That's the reason aswell, why you won so many races, even when you enemies were far gone for a while (and there exactly comes this effect, it can affect the CPU to drive better or worse to make races more fun). The track is long, has very very much sharp corners and hills, which is not good for most of the cars in the game. You need small, light-weighted cars with good handling. The RX-8 was an okay car for this. RX-7 would have been insanely good. The GTI would have insanely good aswell. Just two examples. It's funny, how naive and one-sighted you are, that you think, you are "the god" for getting enemies, that were 3k miles away, but if computer enemies do this, they are hard or something...
But that's the fun of it... If u truly want to say that u mastered the game, then try winning without any cheats or trying to block/ram the blacklists whenever they try to rubberband ... I remember playing this race back in 2012-13 maybe. At 80% of the race he suddenly starts driving like a God. Straights, corners, it did not matter to him at all, he kept driving like a maniac throughout and made me say such bad words to the monitor that it's not appropriate to put those here. Difficult race indeed.
I saw another video where Earl hits the stone at the 89% of the second race like he did in the video, and he rubberbanded so fast that he nearly overtook the player on the hill before the finish line

When i started carreer to unlock all boss cars Earl was the only one that won against me (only once in like 10 races because his car wasn't showing in the cards)😂 so there are 2 possibilities: 1. i'm a pro or 2. Maybe i played it with a powerful pc and there is less rubberband
The worst thing about rubberbanding Earl is that you think "wow I can't wait to get his car, this thing must be an absolute rocketship" and then it's just ok.
Earl is by far the hardest boss of the blacklist in NFS MW, he is programmed to make you hone your skills, that's why there is no traffic so you can drive on the edges. In my playthrough I disabled the rubber band effect and still he closed those gaps (even 1km gap) so fast at the last 20% of the sprint race. #1 for me in difficulty, after him the bosses felt so easy.
The reason why he is rubberbanding even without catch up on is because you dont have a decent top speed yet he reaches 370 kmh with ease on the long straight of the second race i even tried the race with the 100 opponents mod and some earl's reached 400 kmh because they were far behind
Top 5 Hardest blacklist races: 1. Earl’s sprint race 2. JV’s drag race 3. Jewel’s drag race 4. Baron’s drag race 5. Jewel’s sprint race Honorable mentions: 1. Ming’s speed trap 2. Big Lou’s 2nd circuit race Edit: in no way are these races “hard”. Definitely still beatable on one try but will give you the most challenge out of the already easy blacklist races. Also adding Ming’s speed trap since he’ll actually keep close in terms of points and hold a lead in the race/pass the finish before you causing you to lose points.
What makes Earl so difficult is that AI can handle corners much easier than players. That final stretch in the sprint race is a worst case scenario, tight corners which take away your momentum in a game where maintaining a high speed is more important than cornering, grassy edges which take away your traction and therefore your ability to accelerate out of them and the fact that off screen, the AI essentially corners perfectly with no speed loss due to rubberbanding. You can see this when you are far ahead of your opponent. You will notice their arrow suddenly change direction on corners with little to no loss in speed. We have to keep calculating what our car will do between turns, which causes us to overthink and make mistakes, whereas AI just follows the route and it is down to luck whether they hit something (like a perfectly placed statue for example)
As a kid, i didn't know about rubberbanding, AI, or any of that stuff, i just thought Earl was the Michael Jordan of drivers and his car the most amazing machine ever created. You can imagine my disappointment after unpluging and reloading my ps2 a million times to get his pink slip and finding out that the car was like B tier
Yeah, ill never forget Earl, every playthrough i did, he was the hardest, had to restart once or twice, what a game man, so many memories , had it on pc that didnt work so well, and then on ps2, this is a true masterpiece
Honestly I never knew Earl was hard until I watched this video, actually the game AI made way too much effort to keep the player an all time champion in this game
It took 4 tries for me to beat him, wasnt too hard but the problem was that I was way ahead of him for the first ~85% of the sprint, then in the last few corners he gained rocket speed and overtook me
When I first played the game when I was a kid, yeah he was ridiculously hard to beat. But I played the game again as an adult and surprisingly got past him at the first try.
I just did another playthrough of this game and got to about 85% when Earl just sped up beside me and the photo finish was pure badass. Earl flying right above me at the finish line. Its a photo I had to keep

Literally the hardest blacklist racer I have faced 50x over. This guy really gave me a hard time every time I faced him and all that just to keep you from entering Rockport City. The toughest thing about Earl was that he knows how to outmaneuver you in tight corners and won't hesitate to use his ride to bump into yours.
Man I gotta tell you I got this kind of anxiety from only 2 things, Earl's Ride and 'Dahaka' Chasing you in POP Warrior Within, those were the 2 of the most stressful moments I've ever had in my childhood, thanks for this video broo!! made my day!!
That final downhill uturn in the final sprint.. suddenly your car jumps around like a drunk and he drives perfectly.. frustrating and satisfying when beat..
Vic was also a difficult opponent. Much like Earl, during the sprint race, Vic would slingshot his way onto first place when you're like 85% done and because his car is generally better modified than yours there's no way you're gonna catch up to him.
It's also worth noting this is the last Blacklist Rival you race, that uses a Japanese car in the upcoming line up. It's actually kinda crazy to think that in the next game the only two boss cars that are Japanese Tuners are Kenji's RX7 and the Evo IX 🤪🤭
Bruh, I'll never forget the time Earl catched up on me from 1km distance That dude skyrocketed even with a lot of corners, EA literally tried to make that A.I one of the hardest Boss in the game
His rubberbanding is ridiculous, but it also benefits you if you are behind. Last time I beat him I just crashed and spun on purpose for the first 60-70% of the race giving him a huge lead and I still got him in the end. I think this strategy is actually easier than driving legit
Unfortunately this game had slingshot so it made it far more engaging as you couldn’t just lap your opponent. One reason why I love this Nfs. P.s I decided to buy carbon collectors edition, underground 2 and most wanted but there was no black edition for 360 😭
@@aaryanpal1258it's called the rubberband effect ig... It makes the game a bit more engaging. If the opponent is far behind, they'll catch up fast and if the opponent is far ahead, they'll make them slow down. Or else the game would be a bit too easy or hard
The trick for speedtraps is to wait a few seconds before leaving the start, that way you can focus better on getting speed, instead of crashing into other pilots and losing points. If you can get 100 km/h of advantage over another pilot, you're actually 10 seconds ahead of him.
I always remember being able to zoom past him and being ahead of him for most of the last race until around the last corner on the last lap when the rubberbanding seems to just kick in and he flies past you to win at about 200mph
He has some brutal rubberbanding, just let yourself be overtaken before the 70% completion mark and if you retake the position after the AI wont be so stupidly op in the final segment.
Earl is programmed to use the best rubber banding in second sprint track. This is my favourite track, and can get this in 3:40secs ~ 3:45secs any time. Earl cant even touch me on this track 99.9%
One thing that I want to mention here is that the devs have made a mechanism called "Catch up" which you can't turn off in the main campaign. Sadly this is one of the reasons why every other car even the local racers too will match the potential of your current car even if you upgrade it to the max. But Golf GTI can easily beat any sports, muscle or supercar in this game if you continue to upgrade it. That car is a beast. ❤
In fairness, even without upgrades the Lancer Evolutions are some impressive machines. But when upgraded and tuned to that degree they're absolute MONSTERS
Honestly.. I've had my real experience in racing with blacklist #9 myself and it took me a while to dominate and it wasn't easy; that car (Evo8) is fast as hell without any debates. Earl is literally the hardest one to defeat😅.
@@Severance-ftIdk bout you guys, but I always WASH Ronnie in every race because to me he's super easy. Even more light work if you can gather all the junkman performance stuff which helps tremendously (people sleep on the junkman stuff and how much faster that can make your car's in game) because Ronnie always hits the first pole after the start and gets stuck there as well as he gets stuck near the big roundabout near the tunnel right around where the small bridge jumps are in the industrial area in Rockport/Camden Beach area on the 1st and 2nd race.
I really didn't find every blacklists too hard it's just the traffic that is terrifying, i only use 1 car when i finally unlock it, and it's the ford mustang
Although most people hate this rubberband mechanic, I personally like it because it gives an opportunity for replay value for games like NFS Most Wanted and Carbon. This rubberband makes beating the game possible in various number of ways, making it interesting to try out and find new ways to have fun with the same old game. Most Wanted Challenges 1) Beat the game with any bad handling cars. Like Vauxhall Monaro VXR, Mercedes SL500, Aston Martin DB9, Lamborghini Murcielago without using performance tuning to change the steering and handling 2) Beat the game with starter cars alone. Like Lexus IS300, Chevrolet Cobalt SS, Fiat Punto and Volkswagen Golf GTI 3) Beat the game with only stock cars. Meaning any car is allowed but no purchases from the shops 4) Beat the game with stock starter cars only. Meaning only Lexus IS300, Chevrolet Cobalt SS, Fiat Punto and Volkswagen Golf GTI cars are allowed and no performance upgrades or spoiler, body kit purchases should be made. For this challenge, later blacklist milestones regarding speedtraps might need to be done with a separate faster car but other than that, only stock starter car should be used for all cop chases, races and blacklist boss races. Carbon Challenges 1) Beat the game with muscle cars alone. Especially the older looking ones like Chevrolet Camaro SS, Dodge Charger R/T, Dodge Challenger, Shelby GT500 and Plymouth Hemi Cuda. Corvette and Viper are not allowed because they are too OP. 2) Beat the game with exotic cars alone. Especially lower end ones like Aston Martin DB9, Mercedes CLK500, Mercedes SL65 AMG 3) Beat the game with starter cars alone 4) Beat the final 4 boss race event with every single car in the game 5) Beat the game with stock starter cars alone. No performance upgrades allowed. In fact some ppl have done which most ppl would think is flat out impossible. Which is beating Carbon with stock Alfa Romeo Brera and stock Chrysler 300C from start to finish. All these challenges are possible only because of rubberband.
I like rubberbanding because it gives me fun for race with opponent honestly I like earl and razor not for their car also the way they fight you in the race earl split race and razor circuit race
The key to defeat EARL in last race is to use speedbreakers wisely especially at the difficult corners and disable the speedbreaker when your car is alligned perfectly with the track and also dont forget to use the NITRO when your speed gets below 150 kmph or 95 mph and maintain your speed to 240 kmph or 150 mph Therefore you will be able to defeat EARL easily I also used this strategy to defeat EARL by using BARON's porsche............

I beat him using porshe Cayman. I stopped playing this game because of earl, but then one day i decided Earl gotta go. Made him crash and won at the last moment. Mann he was hard to beat.
When I first played against Earl. I restarted the game a lot. But after beating the whole game a couple of times. I can beat him now without using nitros and speedbreaker
Earl, my favorite blacklister. I always take pride in taking his ride and whooping everything else with it. Probably my 2nd favorite car of NFS MW BE 2005
In my Perfectionist runs of Most Wanted, I had to confront most of the bosses several times on hard difficulty to get the pink slip as a first card (on first reveal) and Junkman parts as second, and I never had any problems with beating each of them. I started following some NFS:MW content on YT recently and I came across a lot of players struggling with Earl on easy mode... which is totally mind-boggling to me.
Recuerdo que duré casi dos semanas intentando derrotarlo (era mi primera vez jugando NFSMW), y encima cuando por fin lo logré, se me fue la luz en ese preciso instante. Literalmente lloré.
I moded this game with the trainer +12, kept my speed as high as possible (im takin 250mh-320kmh) dude still kept up. Was using the junkman maxed out M3 GTR and had a max time of 5sec ahead, MAX. Earl is wild.
I didn’t realize how hard he was until this video. I never restarted this race I need to do another play through of this game I love it. I remember I made multiple profiles for this game lol.

I believe you but who was hard for you then?
@@djdelarosa25 you probably played 1.3 version which nerfed him a lot
@@violentjingo7899 I did. I didn't know that, makes sense.
I just did another playthrough of this game and got to about 85% when Earl just sped up beside me and the photo finish was pure badass. Earl flying right above me at the finish line. Its a photo I had to keep
a photo to proof earl is the hardest boss in nfs history
@@KewerMengakakk6262 a photo for the rest of time my guy
yep
Post the proof here
Darius and the LMQ Concept drives very well in the first race and canyon. Usually only way to pass him is in the long round about
It's becuase he drives an EVO, man. Those 4G63Ts are the four banger equivalent if the 2JZ GTE.
Yes i got a eclipse gsx full built 4g63t big garret gt3576r with a 4g63t full built piston valve head ported match injection wather meth with écu dsm link v3 lite is a fking bomb
I can say 4g63t upgrade is a monster
Bro that evo launches perfect everytime plus most of the power is sent forward
Literally the hardest blacklist racer I have faced 50x over. This guy really gave me a hard time every time I faced him and all that just to keep you from entering Rockport City. The toughest thing about Earl was that he knows how to outmaneuver you in tight corners and won't hesitate to use his ride to bump into yours.
yessss
Bro after beating the blacklist racer, the best feeling in the world is knowing that you get the pink slip to their car
fr
Man I gotta tell you I got this kind of anxiety from only 2 things, Earl's Ride and 'Dahaka' Chasing you in POP Warrior Within, those were the 2 of the most stressful moments I've ever had in my childhood, thanks for this video broo!! made my day!!
Back in the day, this corner at 4:26 is my nightmare. No brakes, no speedbreaker, just pure skill. Now, it was tuesday.
I'm still confused, how Earl is not in the top 5?
This guy deserve better in the blacklist rank
@@ridermanyt8029 fr
Me: damn looks like we gotta brake at this corner.
Earl: wait we can brake?
That final downhill uturn in the final sprint.. suddenly your car jumps around like a drunk and he drives perfectly.. frustrating and satisfying when beat..
fr
6:38 That big stone was the only way 😅 now I remember
yeasss, it's the only way (fr fr)
Earl was one of the racers in NFS Underground 1
Vic was also a difficult opponent. Much like Earl, during the sprint race, Vic would slingshot his way onto first place when you're like 85% done and because his car is generally better modified than yours there's no way you're gonna catch up to him.
yeah, i feel his first race was difficult
And then you get his Supra and it just wheelspins everywhere xdd
I think it's because Vic and earl have hold of two cities
More than razor and bull ?
@@user7fm9ed8zrazor was honestly pretty easy
That RX8 is such a beast
It's also worth noting this is the last Blacklist Rival you race, that uses a Japanese car in the upcoming line up.
It's actually kinda crazy to think that in the next game the only two boss cars that are Japanese Tuners are Kenji's RX7 and the Evo IX 🤪🤭
That's the only way to defeat Earl in that sprint race, when you make sure that he misses that last curve cut and hits the statue😂
definitely rightttt
Damn you made Earl choke in the final stretch.
Bruh, I'll never forget the time Earl catched up on me from 1km distance
That dude skyrocketed even with a lot of corners, EA literally tried to make that A.I one of the hardest Boss in the game
His rubberbanding is ridiculous, but it also benefits you if you are behind. Last time I beat him I just crashed and spun on purpose for the first 60-70% of the race giving him a huge lead and I still got him in the end. I think this strategy is actually easier than driving legit
Earl just crushed at the moment 6:40. In 90% of cases, he just passes you and you never get him, that was the hardest moment. You just got lucky.
Bro he was the only one who made me cry...
same
Unfortunately this game had slingshot so it made it far more engaging as you couldn’t just lap your opponent. One reason why I love this Nfs. P.s I decided to buy carbon collectors edition, underground 2 and most wanted but there was no black edition for 360 😭
Slingshot like they will get speed boost ir get teleported behin u if u get too far??
@@aaryanpal1258it's called the rubberband effect ig... It makes the game a bit more engaging. If the opponent is far behind, they'll catch up fast and if the opponent is far ahead, they'll make them slow down. Or else the game would be a bit too easy or hard
@@allentomjose7824 ohh i get it now thank you very much bro
It makes the game bullshit is what it is. Fucking hate rubberbanding. It's literally allowing the AI to cheat, it's unrealistic and unfair
The way my heart was pumping racing this guy 😣😫
😂😂😂
The trick for speedtraps is to wait a few seconds before leaving the start, that way you can focus better on getting speed, instead of crashing into other pilots and losing points. If you can get 100 km/h of advantage over another pilot, you're actually 10 seconds ahead of him.
I always remember being able to zoom past him and being ahead of him for most of the last race until around the last corner on the last lap when the rubberbanding seems to just kick in and he flies past you to win at about 200mph
He has one of the best looking boss cars the game. If I didn't get his pink slip. I'd do it all over again
fr, one of my favourite blacklist car
It’s been almost 20 years and I still remember that S turn towards the end of the sprint, I don’t know how many times I lost to him there as a kid.
5:06 finally, someone who knows how to do a late apex in long corners for better exits.
What is late apex
A what in what for what
Is there any other way to move than that, in such corners? Like how?
It’s very sad moment when you finally manage to beat him then you get unlucky and don’t get his car
Never! I sold my soul to the devil for that lancer every God damn time 😂
6:41 When Earl crash on this location, thats a win secure.
yeppp
I honestly thought I was the only one that struggled with this when I was younger
6:40 Earl: Ahh shit, here we go again
lol
He has some brutal rubberbanding, just let yourself be overtaken before the 70% completion mark and if you retake the position after the AI wont be so stupidly op in the final segment.
And thats one of the many reasons that make old games good, they are actually challenging
Earl will come to life in the final moments of the last race. Especially near Camden beach.
yeahhhh
The most annoying part was if you didnt get the car at the end its “welp, do over”😩
ikrrrrrr
The worst part of all!!😅
I didn't get the car, but the thought of going through hell all over again was too scary for me to retry
On Carbon, if I don't win Angie's Charger, I just buy one and upgrade it. That thing is a powerhouse
Earl really is a skill challenge, and his Evo really is a top tier car.
In fairness, even without upgrades the Lancer Evolutions are some impressive machines. But when upgraded and tuned to that degree they're absolute MONSTERS
I agree I defeat razor with earl evo 8 best feeling ever even it was op in carbon
Years after finishing the game, I got to know there is a time slow feature, damn all spikes I went through and restarted pursuits.
Without rubberband you could say; he tuned his car so illegaly, this is also exotics and muscles.
You are right bro. This guy is tougher than Razor and I think he should be number one on the black list.
Honestly.. I've had my real experience in racing with blacklist #9 myself and it took me a while to dominate and it wasn't easy; that car (Evo8) is fast as hell without any debates. Earl is literally the hardest one to defeat😅.
yeah, razor is literally nothing compared to him
Personally found Ronnie harder than him. Him, Earl and Izzie certainly make the top 3 for me
ronnie is harder imo bcs of the tracks
@@Severance-ftIdk bout you guys, but I always WASH Ronnie in every race because to me he's super easy. Even more light work if you can gather all the junkman performance stuff which helps tremendously (people sleep on the junkman stuff and how much faster that can make your car's in game) because Ronnie always hits the first pole after the start and gets stuck there as well as he gets stuck near the big roundabout near the tunnel right around where the small bridge jumps are in the industrial area in Rockport/Camden Beach area on the 1st and 2nd race.
@@jordanprice9285 could ya gimme some info on junkman parts?
I recently replayed through the game and I don't even remember Earl being harder than others
I really didn't find every blacklists too hard it's just the traffic that is terrifying, i only use 1 car when i finally unlock it, and it's the ford mustang
only earl knows how to drive his car
fr
Although most people hate this rubberband mechanic, I personally like it because it gives an opportunity for replay value for games like NFS Most Wanted and Carbon. This rubberband makes beating the game possible in various number of ways, making it interesting to try out and find new ways to have fun with the same old game.
Most Wanted Challenges
1) Beat the game with any bad handling cars. Like Vauxhall Monaro VXR, Mercedes SL500, Aston Martin DB9, Lamborghini Murcielago without using performance tuning to change the steering and handling
2) Beat the game with starter cars alone. Like Lexus IS300, Chevrolet Cobalt SS, Fiat Punto and Volkswagen Golf GTI
3) Beat the game with only stock cars. Meaning any car is allowed but no purchases from the shops
4) Beat the game with stock starter cars only.
Carbon Challenges
1) Beat the game with muscle cars alone.
Especially lower end ones like Aston Martin DB9, Mercedes CLK500, Mercedes SL65 AMG
3) Beat the game with starter cars alone
4) Beat the final 4 boss race event with every single car in the game
5) Beat the game with stock starter cars alone.
The God of rubberband this guy I swear. I sweat hardest beating this guy back in the day.
Fr
I always found myself restarting that race 2-3 times every time I get to him
They call him Rubberband Earl for a reason.
Earl's car took me all the way back in the day
Man I remember racing this without any slowmo just full speed and racing like Chick Hicks from Cars.
what i've learned from this video: this guy uses speedbreaker really well
thank you man! :)
Earl Baron Ming... These 3 hold the blacklist
6:40 I died while at that conner.
but with a great luck, you can defeat him on that corner :D
You can easily kill Earl by hitting that church sign, that way he won't rubberband until he gets back up again.
Earl's Mitsubishi was an underrated one in the game series. I used that car a lot in the rest of my blacklist.
The key to defeat EARL in last race is to use speedbreakers wisely especially at the difficult corners and disable the speedbreaker when your car is alligned perfectly with the track and also dont forget to use the NITRO when your speed gets below 150 kmph or 95 mph and maintain your speed to 240 kmph or 150 mph
Therefore you will be able to defeat EARL easily
I also used this strategy to defeat EARL by using BARON's porsche............
You read my mind perfectly. Yea. That's what I just did 😂😂
Wow. After more than 10 yrs, refreshing childhood memories. This dude uses Slow motion at some steep curves. I had done it without slow-mo... And I was 13 then
I beat him using porshe Cayman.
This was so satisfying to watch, you drive so well & fast. Bringing back memories
ohhh, thankyou
Recuerdo que duré casi dos semanas intentando derrotarlo (era mi primera vez jugando NFSMW), y encima cuando por fin lo logré, se me fue la luz en ese preciso instante. Literalmente lloré.
When I first played NFS and got to earl I won all the races with him on my first try
That sprint race cost be a few controllers 😢
I think this is mostly due to the lancer already being a faster car, while also being AWD and the circuits having a lot of uphill roads
Earl has more CATCHup than my fries at McDonalds.
Lollllll!!!
It MUSTARD been hard for you! 😂😂😂
That moment when your car sounds tired and the opponents car is just getting started 😅
lollllll
I always pray to get his pink slip....I've cleared the game twice with his bestial Lan Evo
The first race with him is a nice walk. For the second one I always had the urge to throw the computer out the window....
what the hell😆😆
Yea, I definitely defeated a lot of opponents, but Earl was first guy to even give me proper challenge and my first loss against a race. It's amazing to see how skilled was he despite his car level isn't much different from mine.
Imagine earl was blacklist #1 and having 5 different types of race to against him 💀
that might gonna be my worst nightmare ever💀
It's going to be racing horror game
And having him using speed hacks (Rubberbanding)against you
I can confirm thelat the rubberband ai is a thing. Even with infite super boosters they'll catch up to you in a minute even when theres a 2000+ meters gap between you and the racers. Not just with him but with ALL racers. Earl just had a really amped up rubberband AI for some reason lmao.
