I just ordered a BYD dolphin base model yesterday (in Australia). We get wireless charging and panoramic roof in our base model - incredible that you don't there considering the crazy prices you have to pay! The BYD employee thought that one pedal driving might come in via software update eventually, fingers crossed
I simply loved the purple color, unfortunately I did not go for dolphin because of lack of sunroof and a wireless charger. BYD please come up with fun colors like this in Atto 3
Great Review ! Very well explained . I am in the process of buying the extended range version of this here in NZ. However, I am very, very surprised with the pricing. In NZ , It is $49990 & for the extended range it is $55,000 NZD. The Singapore Dollar is just a bit stronger than NZ $ , why would it cost so much more in Singapore. ... Any ways, a very good review once again and Thank you.
Thanks for the kind words! Singapore has by far the world’s most expensive cars by design (2/3 of the price of a car is taxation). Singapore has world class public transportation and the government is working hard to reduce use of private car ownership.
Great car, surprisingly big. In addition to our Tesla M3LR you reviewed we now also have a Dolphin in the Premium Extended version we are lucky to get in Malaysia; it has the moonroof you lament is missing. We only chose the premium due to the interior color scheme as indeed the Dynamic Standard represents great value. You’re welcome to test the extended on your next visit to KL if interested
Glad to hear it's serving your family well, Allan! Yes, would be keen to check out the Premium Extended in our future visit to KL (likely in December).
NavarroOne, many thanks for your perspective. I have put a holding deposit on the Model you have purchased but the delivery into Australia is remarkably slow. Do you miss the one pedal driving in the Dolphin? Is the wind noise annoying at highway speeds; ie 100-110 KPH?
@@kevindgillam hi Kevin, I personally like 1-pedal driving but for my wife it’s not a feature of Tesla, it’s a bug so she’s very happy with her Dolphin. When you go fast the regen is more powerful. Lifting off around 110 km/h generates around 41 kW. Wind noise isn’t substantial; it’s a very comfortable and surprisingly spritely car with 201 hp and torque in spades, generating a bit of torque steer under heavy throttle
@@NavarroOne really useful information; thanks. Have you become familiar with the ‘Hey BYD’ voice commands? And…. Benz you considered fitting an aftermarket
Yes unfortunately! Singapore has by far the world's highest car prices by design. Up to 2/3 of the total payment goes to government taxation in order to encourage use of public transportation which is one of the best in the world.
Hopefully BYD does so in the near future. One potential reason is that the price difference between the BYD Seal ($163k) and entry-level BYD ATTO 3 ($175k for Standard 100kW) is only $12k, so that they want to keep a clearer differentiation.
My only concern is the seats, which has not been mentioned, for my old bones. Waiting to get into Adelaide to sit in a pre production model. we have here the 64kwh model, which is about 25k AUD cheaper that the KONA, my first choice. Why the price difference. Well imo, 5k for Hyundai advertising and sponsorship, 5k for the extensive dealer network that has to be supported, 5k for better quality for sure, and 25k for ???, [doing a BMW] and becoming Premium. 45k AUD is a heck of a not of money...So if the Seats are good we will buy it, but somehow I think they are not. Already ruled the MG out on BLACK interior and unsupportive seats. Also the back to back Delphin V MG here in SA, is 4k dearer. [again bigger Dealer network that has to be supported].
No thank you to ev. The inconvenience and change of lifestyle just isn’t suited for everyone. A car should suit a person’s lifestyle and not the person changing their lifestyle to suit the drivability of a car. Going to malls and places to charge my car, essentially wasting time and spending unnecessary expenses on parking and “starbucks”. All these add up to additional cost of owning an ev.
For me, charging at home overnight so I always have a ready to go fully charged car anytime I want, is super convenient. For long road trips here in the Philippines, the charging infrastructure is lagging behind. I'd take my other car then.

Fantastic!!! BYD should flood SG Market ASAP!!! Much much affordable!!! Kudos to you for this vlog! Keep it coming! More, please!
Singapore is too small of a market lmao xD who is buying? expensive as shit!

A very useful ‘real life’ report; thanks 😉👍👏👏👏
5:52 ".. Own SIM 4G Card..." Is this the mandatory way of accessing internet? Could it connect to the Hot Spot in my 5G phone ?
Thank you for the dolphin preview.
Great channel first review to really know the regional background for the screen feature.

BYD Seal is quite good-looking.
Agree!
Baby looks nice and neat. Can I let the aircon running while charging?
Yes, aircon can be kept on while charging!
android auto/apple carplay support?
In Malaysia this are standard range, extra range got 100km more, matching interior color & sun roof

Can review the BYD e6?
Its only sold to taxi company in China
Phew. In Australia it sells for A$41,810 the equivalent of S$36,394. Are you sure that S$163,888 is correct?

what is the real distance BYD dolphin can go?
Up to 380km real world range, in my 4 days test driving the car in Singapore.
What is that hum? and the indicator is LOUD, PS: I have tinnitus.
Good review.
the most popular byd EV in CHINA is the QIN dynasty.really worth for money.

nice vlog
Please also include miles for US viewers! Thanks!
240 miles of real world range on BYD Dolphin
i know you dont mean to be rude, but shouldnt you do your own math? metric system being used in every places other than US,adapt to it.
100km is 62 miles, and if you dont know that, then you need to. Why does America have to live in the past?
Why people like BYD so much when the Batt efficiency is much lower than Tesla?
It’s a more affordable alternative, especially in Singapore, when all Teslas start at SG$235k+ with current COE prices.
Cheaper and safer.
the dolphin is only about 10.5kwh per 100km. what do u want? a motocycle is more efficient. there is more to a car than efficiency.

Camera man is really terrible! You Need to show clearly and longer. Take your time to SHOW CLEARLY AND LONGER!!!
I watched the video, is not that terrible as you mentioned. Maybe you should learn to be nice 😅
I was about to comment but with a more mild language 😅
Thanks for the feedback. A friend helped me film and am thankful for his help!

Looks poor quality like a China made copy of Tesla.
