  • Hope everyone has had a fantastic week. It's time to start getting back into the routine of pool maintenance. Stay ahead of the game! You don't want to be playing catch-up!
The pool looks fantastic and the water feels like ICE!
    Free Chlorine - 1.0 PPM
    Total Chlorine - 1.0 PPM
Perfect. I put in a tablet last week and only about half of it has dissolved, but the pool is still holding free chlorine. I didn't add anymore tablets, often times in the winter a chlorine tablet will last up to 5 weeks.
    PH - 8.0
High again, the rain we got probably was high in PH. I added 28 ounces of muriatic acid to bring it back in line.
    Total Alkalinity - 80 PPM
    Perfect.
    Calcium Hardness - 275 PPM
Less than a year ago the Calcium Hardness was at 600 PPM! My goal is to have it back down to 250 PPM by April. I also have been using ScaleTEC Plus, a hardcore de-scaler. Since this scale is a few years old it is going to take a few months before we really start to see a reduction in scale deposits.
    Cyanuric Acid - 20 PPM
When the season hits I will re-balance this to about 40 PPM, for now though 20 PPM is just fine.
    Phosphates - 100 PPB
100 PPB is pretty normal for phosphates seeing as phosphates contaminate nearly all water sources.
    Borate - 80 PPM
Still perfect. It has been nearly a year since I added borates to the water and it has hung out right around 80 PPM. Typically your first dose of Borate lasts about 2 to 3 years.
The water looks amazing and I am excited to have another perfect, problem free pool season.
