Very cool! Yeah, this session might be the one movie soundtrack I was most looking forward to, with "It Happened At The World's Fair" being another one.
Bought Radio Recorders Revisited album back in 1988 and was blown away by the sound quality and the performance quality of the outtakes. A superb collection all round.
A pity that certain individuals buy up all the copies of these wonderful FTD cd’s and turn around to up the price for stupid money on eBay and such, leaving us fans that really want them, but have to pay up to try and get these in their collections. I’ve always had an affinity for this soundtrack, especially “KOTWWW”. Until then, I’ll keep my Double Features and the original version on FTD for my go to’s. Thanks for the great content and support for Elvis’ legacy and the one thing that matters the most, The Music!!! 😊
Okay, let's be real--the 11th take of "This is Living" should've been: Guitar intro... My Society, my society, here with all the friends I wanna see......hahaha. I agree Jamie, all these songs are wonderful, if but too brief. The quality of the material that was to follow, suffered in the middle and latter part of the decade. And dare I say, even Elvis' vocals (quality and tone) dropped considerably in the middle part of the decade, while regaining prominence toward the end of the 1960's (just my opinion). But between '60 and '62, most of the material, whether it was recorded for a studio album or a motion picture, was spot on. Thanks, John, for mentioning where this is still available. As of this writing, it is still available at the Elvis Shop, London. Just ordered my copy (with bonus photo!). Thanks guys. Great job!
Hey, Tony! LOL - love it! And glad you got a copy of this set, that's awesome! I agree that Elvis's voice changes as the decade goes on - I think his disillusionment starts to really show as time goes on, which is unfortunate.. though it led us to what came out in 66 onward, so there is that. 😁
ATTN EVERYONE: If you missed out on this release, I just checked: as of 3/10/23, theelvisshoplondon.com still has copies, so grab one if you'd like (and tell 'em the EAP Society sent you)! 😁www.theelvisshoplondon.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=35320
I spent 5 hours with Chris at The Elvis London Shop today. He has a huge collection of Elvis FTD releases still available and a wealth of Elvis knowledge. Probably the greatest Elvis E.P and singles collection from all over the world too. Top guy and contributor to the Follow That Dream Label.
@@elvispresleycollectorsgroup Absolutely agreed - Chris has always gone over and above to provide awesome service, and I've never had an FTD arrive damaged from him, either. Highly recommended!
Yes "Memories Are Made Of This" i still have the Bootleg Vinyl Beauties from the late 1970's and mid 1980's! It was really spectacular; the Album Cover-Design is fantastic but most of all the Sound Quality incl never heard before Outtakes was like another Elvis Music World at this time for sure! Of course; the FTD CD Complete-Session is the ultimative and i have this beauty for sure...but nothing let my old Collectors Heart beating faster like to be proud of the first "Kid Galahad Bootleg Viny Classic on Vinyl"😁 Thanks Jamie&John...as always; TOP👌
@@EAPSociety 😳...Wowww; sorry but i can't understand your descision, it's a REAL ELVIS Vinyl Bootleg History; @i'm not talkin' about the 21st Century crappy Bootleg Vinyl Explosion 😖
@@EAPSociety It's OK Jamie; thanx...i'm an old man but i still have the heartwarming Collectors Soul for the "Old Vinyl & CD Releases" ...btw you won't believe how good they sound and still have a few interesting content👌
Guys I love your enthusiasm to details of this subject - who else would discuss the Pot Luck cover photo and ask why they used that picture ( i agree there were far better head shots from around that time but hey its Elvis), any way a great sound track all round and having it in superior sound quality and in exact recorded order IS the way to release it!!! Keep up the great work. Is there a way I can contact you privately - email or such?
Thanks, Ken! We definitely love getting nerdy with this stuff! Best ways to contact would be via our Instagram or Facebook, and there's an email on the website as well! www.eapsociety.com
A wonderful soundtrack that always a fun listen! Cheers!
Thank you - it definitely is! Have a good one! 😁
Kid galahad is one of my favorites. I now have the ftd cd, album, and sessions box. Thanks for sharing. All songs are enjoyable

I got the bootleg in Edinburgh, when I was based at Rosyth in 1984. Sound quality was excellent
Whistling Tune forever!
Absolutely - both versions of it, too. 😁

True, but part of the problem is the low runs of these releases - but keep an eye out, you never know when you can still find them at better prices. 😁

Glad you feature the FTD releases so much on the channel. They really are superb!
Oh, absolutely - the sessions, in particular, are essential, imo.

I'd like this if not just for the masters, but the artwork and outtakes are very well done. I wish I'd not slept on this release.

Oh, yeah - it's like that for a lot of my first Elvis albums & CDs, too - long since supplanted, but they mean too much to me to not keep them.

That's very true on both counts when it comes to those releases - and in that spirit, I think you'll definitely like the new additions to the set!
