As soon as you can, invest in some shipping blanket's use those to cover your load on the corners before you tarp. It will save your tarp and reduce the risk of damage to your load.
Man bro I had to stop the video just to comment. Keep grinding I had my first tarp load and rip the hell out of my $300 tarp. I promise you I was feeling the same way. Some loads I tarp over but now I pretty much got the hang of it as I look at 18 wheelers I pass on the highway and I see how they tarp it just with the bungees.
I just stumbled across your channel and you are a hilarious 😆 and hardworking person! I just binged watched all your videos! Great content and I just subscribed to your channel!
There’s special product you use for patching tarp. It’s similar to patching an inner tube tire. You can order it online from a store that specializes in selling tarps.
Bruh just when I think I'm having a bad day trucking I come across this video. Got to get a Annual DOT inspection by end of week and guess what, running lights and working lights aren't working, literally just happened coming from Columbus to Atlanta. But we going to keep pushing, appreciate the video bruh!
Definitely felt your pain when shit hit the fan, but mad respect for taking that L like a champion. At 15:29 you show its ok to be piss off at the bad things, but then get up and keep going. I set up my LLC , all the business side, and applied for my authority since October 2021, but I just can't find a descent truck/box truck to get started. I wanted to just give up and say fuck this, I definitely needed a little motivation. One of your best videos. Keep up the great content.
Don’t feel bad bro. I had a tarp rip on me coming from Washington state to North Carolina and I called the broker tryna get them to compensate me for the shit lol so I called the customer and told him and he told me I can take the tarp off. It was a L but like you said learning experience. FYI charge 100-150 for tarp. That shit take forever in your time. Keep TRUCK’N killa 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
I had the same experience my first tarp load. lol ripped it and it was flapping in the wind. It does get easier, and you get more proficient and the tarp starts to stay tight as a drum. But I agree, TO HELL WITH A TARP! Hate them things.
Brokers will always try you because your just starting and your a hot shot. Sometimes the load board will have semi rate and a hotshot rate even though your carrying the same weight🥴beware they play a lots of games...
Good vid! I ripped our tarp opening the box with a box cutter 🤦🏽♀️ He don’t know yet! I’m about to buy something to patch it up. Oh, That sneeze took me out!😂
Chris, All your tarps should be customize with the Chris TV logo so when the tarps messing up, you still getting subscribers.Congrats brother on trucking company 🥃
I was making brownies and was just listening but when you said the load held up I was like 🙌🏽🙏🏽👏🍾💪🏽 you got it … keep going. I think I missed it when you said whether or not you negotiated that tarped load so I gotta go back and watch again. I don’t have any hotshot drivers so I’m trying to see what exactly y’all go through before I buy my own trucks and hire drivers .. I do wanna add hotshot drivers to my dispatching business though so this was a good learning experience for me so I can know what y’all go through and kinda be mentally prepared.
I just found your channel last night and watched a couple of your videos im jumping in the boxtruck business just waiting on my authority to go active. Thank you for the info and i also wanted to ask what factoring company do you use?
It don't look all that bad man. For the decking I use used engine oil from the truck that pulls the trailer do it when the wood is dry and on a hot day so it will soak in. It will take care of them bugs for sure I do it ounce a year.
Yo I need help understating how to do the hours of service. I’m 19 years old, Idk why this stuff is so confusing. Can you make a vid about how you do yours to stay in compliance or could someone in comments help me.
Hello Chris,Are you your own boss,Do you work for yourself, or you work for a company, I want to start hot shot my self but I’m confused on what to do, whether to start my own company or work for one, I do have the money to buy a trailer and truck plus pay for all the up fronts, any advice will be appropriated.
I just picked my box truck up from Minnesota and I faced my nerves by hopping straight on the highway for a 6 hr ride home. The way it bounced because of some roads 🥶😱 but 💪🙏 I love it. I’m just waiting on my MC, should be here by Friday.
I'm in the process of looking for my 26 foot box truck, if you don't mind me asking how did you come upon the truck you bought? I don't know if I should buy like a 2010 or maybe newer, any advice?
Hey Chris, I binged watched your hotshot series and man.. for you saying you havent been in long you definitely got it figured out. I've wanted to hotshot for a few years now but I cant bring myself to take the plunge. I already have a 20ft open car hauler style aluminum trailer 10K GVW Would my trailer suffice and be able to work for say a year or will I be too limited on what I can carry and be wasting my time even trying. Thank you for your input. I look forward to seeing more from your channel. Drive safe.

Thx for the info. I just damaged my tarp on those sharp corners 😡😡😡
You did good for your 1st time tarping, you have to pull the tarp back towards the rear with the bungee cords so the tarp flows with the wind 👍🏽
Learn something new everyday!👌🏾🙏🏾✌🏾
Seeing you going through the ups and downs learning and adapting is inspiring af bro.

Tarps are easy to repair, there is a product called HH66 that is a glue like pvc cement. That and some tarp material you can patch any tarp.
Good job Chris, I myself welcome all mistakes I make, and I make sure I learn from them and they usually never come back 🙂 keep it up
