All the pros in extreme run long silencers. You’d think they’d want shorties to reduce risk of damage, so there must be some benefit to the longer silencer.
That’s crazy I had the exact opposite results. I have the pro circuit 296 which is their spark arrestor basically the same as the FMF. I hated it so much, it made the bottom end feel rich and lethargic. I bought the Spanish racing end cap for the stock silencer and haven’t looked back. 2023 KTM 300 XC tbi.
Because the 300 XC is different than the xcw. I had a 23 300 xc before this bike and the shorty was great. Must be a combo of the mapping and the different dome
The problem with the 2.1 is its made from tin foil, it dints much easier than the stock one. And the mounting brackets are riveted in, not welded, and tear out easily. Total waste of money !! imho
@@DeadEnduroyou must not be riding hard enough to fall because FMF's have had that mounting problem for decades. Total crap. They happen to make good headers though.
@@BAYAREAMXtf are you talking about??? Every single MX bike for decades came with a shorty. Less back pressure for high rpm riding. Long pipes are for trails. More back pressure = more bottom end. This applies to all kinds of engines but especially 2-strokes.
I was there in real time Shorty stock silencer sounded best but FMF complies and sounds really good
I have the TC 2.1 on my XC-W. Love it.
The fmf almost sounded the smoothest to me, I’d like the shorty for high speed flow days and the stock for hard enduro.

I went with the stock and a Spanish fly arrestor
Spanish Fly is the best SA
I second this
I’ve heard good things. The only minor downside I’ve been told is less packing on XC bikes, so more frequent changing. Obviously nitpicking.
Excellent content
Install a Spanish fly spark arrester on your stock muffler and you get everything.
have you noticed any difference at how the bike is accelerating ? is it getting any smoother acceleration than stock exhaust
?
Stock and Fmf are equally as smooth. The shorty stutters a bit on the low end
How much weight savings you get with the fmf vs XCW pipe?
It was a pretty unofficial hand weight feel test. It’s noticeable but i wouldn’t base any purchase on it.
They all fit perfect?
Yup, designed for 23+ 250/300 tbi bikes

I’ve used them for years and the only issue I’ve had is the stickers getting ripped off.

I just want a louder exhaust
Let the shorty saturate with oil…boom louder🤣👍
The longer muffler produces more top end and the shorter mufflers produce better bottom to mid.
Is that because it's tbi?
It's usually the opposite...
@@O.valente24 it’s never been the opposite. The shorter length silencer produces more bottom to mid. A longer silencer produces more top.

@@dabrula TF are you talking about idiot look it up on FMF and Pro circuits website. A shorter muffler has more bottom end.

Butt dyno? No thanks.
You didn’t include the pro circuit 296
