For your first time using CEROKOTE, you did an excellent job. It is an excellent product. It's so thin. My Dirt bike was stolen from my shed, and I'm Apoplectic and sad at the same time. What's up with drug addicts, I'm hooked on Dirt bikes and riding. Nice to see MEN like you are still around. Keep up the great work.
Sorry to hear about your bike. I make a point of keeping things out of site now. Never let anyone see me put things away and confront anyone who does not belong in my neighborhood. The rest of my neighbors do the same. It probably helps to have the police station a block away. When I bought my house I picked one in the lowest crime area of the city. I had so many things stolen in my last place it was quite ridiculous.
Great video as always. I don’t know about you but I couldn’t breathe without my full respirator on after just a quick test of the cerakote. I used C series on mine so I didn’t need the oven
Can you please make a list of the tools you used in this video with links and where you got the gaskets, seals and bearings…any other wearable parts you replaced. I’d be very grateful. Rebuilding a 1987 yz490.

IMO should have taken the dust shield off the bearings that are inside the engine........so the fluid can get inside the bearing....I cant imagine those bearings will last like that.
Hey I just picked up a yz490 1986. Unfortunately the frame is a bit bent. Do you know if the 1982 frame would be interchangeable . I found a very good condition 82 frame
Does that year have the same kickstarter assembly as the '86 490? Someone gave me the bike and its missing casecover, kickstarter, kickstarter assembly and all number plates. Its pretty clean. I really need to know what years parts will work in my motor.
Love the video. I love the step by step build. When I need my 250 redone. I’ll pay you
Beautiful vid, love me some 490 old school ping ❤️💪🙏🇬🇧
Merci beaucoup pour votre aide précieuse, excellent travail !

nice finish with the ceracote, no activator with this type of paint?
think the plate you talked about is a baffle to stop oil surge possibly?

I was wearing a dust mask to start. Then I started wearing a carbon filter respirator.
Lovely detailed engine rebuild 👍
Thankyou.

Notches go towards the bearing because they wanted the premix to fully flow through the bearing.

@@yami4g63 bearings are design3d that way. They are open on one side
Lovely work! Great video thanks
Thanyou for watching
Absolute pleasure watching you work very informative clear and tidy! Just what I need to put my it465 together.
I seen a guy do a transmission out of the IT line because it adds another gear on top.
Yes it can be done

Sorry no a 1982 frame will not work.
Hey TNT, is there a tooth or finger broken off the clutch basket - see 50.57? Great step by step re-build, thanks.
Yes one time on one finger of the basket was missing. I have since replaced the basket.
Hi there, any chance you could tell me where you got the fork boots for the YZ490? I’m restoring an “84” down here in NZ.
They were from ebay. I will post a link when I get home

The kick shaft has a different part number so I would say it would not work from an 86.
Where are you mate? Missing in action, hope all is well, any updates on the dual cr builds? 👍🏻
Still fighting to get this YZ running right. All my money is tied up in this bike but I plan to start the cr500 tear down this weekend.
Dual cr builds will happen 2023
Hi, whats the name of your tool on minute 38? Do you have a buying link for me? Best regards from germany. Max
