@@mccormick151428 Oh man! yeah! I see how you can say that. They both are flamboyant performers... enjoy mixing classical.... extremely gifted. But from watching Durand, his personality is mimicked in his singing.
Prince and him are a bit different. Prince was very serious and mysterious.
Durand is very open in personality... Fun and crazy and so is his singing. Prince was a perfectioinst with his music and subdued in his personality.
But I do get what you're saying about the similarities and that he probably did study him.

Durand was here before, possibly from the late 60s or mid 70s. I’m convinced. Durand is a young Prince meets skinny D’Angelo, with a touch of Maxwell. I’m feeling it! This Tiny Desk was nothing short of spectacular! His range is all over the place from under the rail road tracks to somewhere 3 decibels above thunder. Durand is not only a singer, but he’s a PERFORMER. Give the man a Soul Train Music Award, a Tony, an American Music Award, and a throwback MTV Video award. (No, Grammy’s are biased and persistently diss real talent) Yes, Sir!

Because of Durand’s out of the box style and refusal to be confined by definitions of art and genre, I think your commentary was on point! He’s an amazing artist and showman. I enjoyed the Tiny Desk and your analysis.🤌🏾

I'm so glad you decided to Durand.
I like that he uses his ENTIRE voice. It's like he uses his whole voice in every song and he does it without doing too much. He knows what to do when. Yebba said thesame thing. She likes that he uses his whole range regularly. I think that's why he flows through his range almost effortlessly. Because he doesn't overuse or over exercise any one part so the whole voice is strong.

I have synesthesia, and your videos are like descriptions of what I see. Your analysis gives me literarily goosebumps! For example when durand was doing the whistle, I saw two lines, one very thin the other nearly breaking but next to each other and the thinner one vibrating … when I listen to sound, I see forms. Thank you so much ❤
