A beautiful movie . I wish more movies were made like this today - no gunfights - not a lot of explicit sex just deep love between 2 people. Women wore dresses and never be seen in ripped jeans and sloppy tee shirts. Men never wore jeans to go out on a date and took hi date to a diner not to a fast food for dinner. They were polite and kind and showed respect to each other. We'll never see those times again

@@thekrrib what's really funny that many may not know is if i recall if anyone has seen the Original Elm Street which was shot in (1983) if i'm not mistaken. the scene where Tina is killed where you have Freddy on the Ceiling dragging her body around they used the same exact way that Fred used for this film. i am going to take a guess and say that's where Wes even got the idea from he just made it far darker than it was 1st used for that's all.

@@brucer9572 That's not what is meant. Fred Astaire would no a number filmed from start to finish without cuts. If there was a mistake, they had to redo the whole thing. In the movie Holiday Inn it took 38 takes and three days of filming before Fred got the very difficult number done to his liking. In the final take which made it in to the movie, you can see him jubilantly smiling in the end. But no cut-and-splicing for Mr Astaire.

Adele Astaire married into the British aristocracy, not royalty. However, she married almost the closest thing to it. Charles Cavendish was the younger brother of the 10th Duke of Devonshire. They got Lismore Castle in Ireland as a wedding present. He had a terrible drinking problem and that finally got him in 1944.

The set was built on a huge turntable, with the camera on a fixed-axis mount focussed dead-centre. The entire set -- with camera -- would be slowly rotated as Astaire did his dance routine so the walls and ceilings would be level as he proceeded through the moves. Stanley Kubrick would employ the same technique for the scene of the moon shuttle stewardess changing level and orientation in zero-G within the circular alcove of the spacecraft in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

    The simple plan of Salvation.
    1. Admit that you are a sinner and need to be saved.
(No one is good enough to go to Heaven on his own merit. No matter how much good we do, we still fall short.)
    For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    - Romans 3:23 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    - Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9 KJV
    2. Realize the penalty for sin, repent and be willing to turn from your sins that can be possible to stop doing by working on that one day at a time, Jesus knows that some sins are impossible to quit doing, like, judging one another.
(Just as there are wages for good, there is punishment for sin. The penalty for our sin is eternal punishment in a place called Hell.)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    - Romans 6:23 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
    - Hebrews 9:27 KJV
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
    - Revelation 21:8 KJV
    3. Believe that Christ died for you on the cross of Calvary.
(Christ great love for us was shown when He died on the cross to pay our sin.)
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
    - Romans 5:6‭-‬8 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
    - John 14:6 KJV
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    - 1 Corinthians 15:3‭-‬4 KJV
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
    - 1 Peter 2:24 KJV
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
    - 1 Peter 3:18 KJV
    4. Receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour into your heart and life through prayer.
(Everlasting life is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith.)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
    - John 5:24 KJV
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
    - Romans 10:13 KJV -1 CORINTHIANS 15.
-1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2. by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4. and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    Prayer of Salvation:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I need you. I believe that you died on the cross for me. Forgive me of my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to you. I receive you as my Saviour, come into my life and save me. Thank you for what you did on the cross for me. "Amen.”
