Thank you for sharing this oldie, but goodie :)
-I don't agree with all the negative comments about Russell playing the dumb part. I think it shows her versatility as an actress which was often overlooked.
-I do agree with all the positive comments about the 50s clothes. This was when women really knew how to dress.
-The location CinemaScope photography of Paris in the 50s is breathtaking. (The photography in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" was all done on the backlot at Fox.)
-For my 4th grade field trip we toured the SS United States.
-The stereophonic sound is backwards.
-Mo-NA-co???
Thanks for the good upload!
The best thing about this movies is the 1950’s fashions!
That’s what I thought😀
And furniture, TV set, cars, telephone…

You have a discriminating eye! 😊
That’s Wilburrrrr from “Mr. Ed!” Loved that show when I was a kid (😂 back in the Jurassic).
The movie is really worth looking forward to
Thanks for the upload! I had never even heard of this film before, let alone seen it. (A follow-on to the great 'G P Blondes' . . . who knew?!)
It's not a good film, sad to say. It's bizarre, outrageous, uneven, and OTT on so many levels. Yet it's worth one watch, at least. And has several redeeming features: great 1950s costumes, repeats of classical showtune songs, & one or two pithy lines in the script.
What a piece of ridiculous, but fun, Hollywood! ,-)
Very fun movie
Love Jeanne Crain singing My Funny Valentine❤
It's funny how in this movie Jane plays the hairbrain like Marilyn did in Gentleman Prefer Blondes! 😁👱♀️🩷
Yeah😂, even with the same voice and innocent gestures😅
I hope whatever studio suit thought that one up was quickly fired.
According to IMDb this movie was the initial effort of the production company founded by Jane Russell and her husband. It's not a sequel to Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Jane herself elected to “copy” the mannerisms of Marilyn Monroe and the character she played in the earlier movie.
It might not be a sequel by the same studio but the novel was a sequel penned by the same Author Anita Loos.
It's a shame that Marilyn didn't play opposite Jane russell again, it would be interesting to see at least another movie with them together and what she would have played as a brunette like.
Since Jane Russell was such a good friend and because she didn't play characters in her own production company is that more of substance what's in this movie anyways and particularly because while Marilyn Monroe branching out on her own films where more critically acclaim it didn't seem to bring in as much money at the box office anyways.
I guess there's a very hard lesson to learn here for both actresses branching out on their own which is Marketing is everything!
But hats off to Janine Crain. She may not have sung my little Valentine I think she was the perfect replacement.
Anyone else’s sound cut out for part of my funny valentine?
It’s due to copyright
I'm really looking forward to the movie
Wow, that was a very interesting movie! Have never seen it before!
This is about the best romantic comedy musical that I have seen
Thank you so much for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤
Not a single rehearsal. They have backing dancers, elaborate sets and costumes within a day or two. 😂
Wow I never heard of this film!!!! I'm in bed fighting a cold so this is perfect timing to watch this! Thank you for uploading this film 🥳💫
🍯🫖🌿Hope you feel btr soon! 🤗
@@NaturalHealingAlchemist Thank you so much!!!☺️
Interesting that in some parts Jane Russell mimics Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes!
Its actually a REALLY entertaining and fun frolic of a film!!! I was genuinely pleased and amazed that it was so stylish, especially the gowns n outfits n accessories the ladies wore, so VERY astounding how elegantly fashionable the entire production was!!! Their make-up n bizarrely desirable hair styles n dressings n feathers n hats were awesome!!! Those clothes would TOTALLY fit in today!!! Their personalities were slightly odd n I both liked and was a little put off by, mist likely due to the different character portrayals that Jane Russell switched between characters and movies being in both films. At times I wanted to see Jane Russell play the Jean Craine character like in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". Yet both films were spellbinding in their own ways!!! I need to watch it again to get a better feel for the music 🎶 cuz the songs, sone of them, were odd to me, but I have to see it again for sure to be sure about the memorability of the songs. It is DEFINITELY a "must see again" movie 🎥 because no matter the idiosyncrasies, I could see this being a classic among Hollywood musicals from that glamorous opulent era throughout the 1940's thru the 1960's!!! Will watch again for sure!!!!
A bit of a train wreck, but the cast do what they can with the material. The high point, musically, is Rodgers & Hart's "My Funny Valentine."
😮BRUNEttes!😊
good movies
When the world was back to sort of normal at least for a while.
where men walked into your room touched, your clothes and cut them into tiny bitty outfits; they could make others happy for money / maybe room and board.
Now You wonder when did men get the top shelf attitude to just bowl over women standing in their way of access to their bodies/ now men rent women's bodies to bring surrogate children to couples who want children/ when nature says no. Still taking ownership of the one thing men cannot do with out a willing female...
Have never seen this movie and hoping it is at LEAST half as charming as its predecessor "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". Will comment afterwards.
Cute 🍿 🎥 🍿 movie
Travilla & Dior should've be billed as the 'STARS' of this film!!!❤❤ 👍👍
Nice movie.
why sound disappeared on 34th minute?
Sub titulos en castellano por favor
WOW! Outstanding Movie with Great Music Numbers. Loved it.
Thank you
Jane Russell playing the dumb blonde, even if her hair is brunette.
Jeanne Crain playing her down-to-earth sister.
I haven’t seen this movie, I just hope the guys they fall in love with are better looking. I think I’m gonna like Marilyn & Jane . Never be another Marilyn. ❤😊
Türkçe altyazı ekler misiniz?
This might be OK if it would stream clearly.
1080p...more like 360p..
Not the same without Marilyn’s sparkle ✨
That's good to know that men judge women based on their hair colour because Marilyn Monroe's real nsme is Norma Jean was always a Brunette!😂
Jeanne Crain was painfully beautiful
At 127 : 07 , it is the funniest part of the movie when Jeanne Crain howls after she has a feather plucked out of her tail .
Hehe .
I absolutely hate musicals ugh. I wish this wasn’t spoiled by being a musical
This is similar in style to Valee's 1940s musical movies.
I think this was a sop to Jane Russell who was completely out glammed and acted by Marilynn Monroe in Gentlemen prefer blondes. That court scene was not a showcase of Janes talent ,but an exposé of her shortcomings.
this movie is horrible
I am an american citizen!
So?
Slightly daft movie truth be told. However you can tell Jean Crain was enjoying the departure from the demure girl next door role.
An enjoyable movie in parts, but Gentlemen marry brunettes just couldn't create the magic that Gentlemen prefer blondes did. For starters while Jane Russel had a fantastic figure, her hairdo was all wrong. Jeanne Crain, a mediocre actress in dramatic parts, was all wrong for a musical. In those revealing costumes, while Russel was able to carry them off with aplomb, Crain looked pathetic with her tiny frame and skinny legs. Songs were nostalgic and there were a couple of good tunes that helped liven up the picture. These included My Funny Valentine and Ain't Misbehavin. Scott Brady, as one of the leading men, was able to give a well measured performance. As for Gentlemen prefer blondes, you can see it a hundred times and still be anxious to see it again. It's recall value is limitless. Despite the familiar premise, the film grapples with story and pacing challenges. Quite a few sequences are repetitive. There are one too many twists and turns, relying heavily on spectacle, rather than substance which made the film tedious.
Pity that Marilyn did not accept the role
Thumbs down!
Utterly useless movie

Toutes ces niaiseries américaines qu’ils ont déversées dans leurs colonies européennes.....beurk😢😢😢
It's really a very bad movie .Russell should not have short hair , doesn't suit her
I think it does, she suited any length of hair, she's so stunningly beautiful.
agreed. 2x. IIMO, Russell's attraction was her build, not her looks. But short hair for Jeanne Crain really helped her. Her normal hair was just too much and overwhelmed her beauty.
This should had been a continuation of gentleman prefers blondes .. I don’t like Jane playing the role of a ditzy girl and her voice sound like that
