- My review, experience, highlights, and recommendations after having the Saddleback Leather Large Front Pocket Backpack for over five years. I welcome questions if you have any! Hope this video is helpful for you if you're considering purchasing a Saddleback Backpack.

Nice! What a coincidence, I happened to be browsing SBL videos and wound up here. I remembered I recommended you review the large front pocket backpack, so nice to see you finally did it.
Yes I finally got around to it!
Nice! It’s cool to see how this leather ages. I got the thin front in dark coffee brown. It’s aged so nicely after about a year of super heavy use as a diaper bag 😂
Nice! Oh yeah I bet. I love how these bags age. I wish I used this one more! Need to go on a trip asap haha.
Awesome review. I’m actually about to have both of these bags.
In what situations do you use your Flight Bag, and which ones do you use this backpack?
I use the flight bag just as an everyday bag, I find I can fit all I need for the day in this bag. So I easily take a laptop, notebook, a couple books, kindle, water bottle, cables, and maybe a snack. I use my backpack when I go on a trip, and I leave the flight bag at home. I have a lot more to carry around each day when I'm on a trip, and having the extra room plus distributing the weight on both shoulders is perfect.
Hi Jam, Thank you for the video. Very nice detailed insights.
You mentioned that you have stopped using this one as a your edc. If you could go back in time and pick again, would you go for this bag or the thin front pocket backpack?
And another quick question; do you have a snake in your garden? :D
Of course! Hope it can be of some use to people deciding what bag to get.
Honestly I wouldn't. I could see some value in the Small FPBP, back when they had two sizes. But I just don't love the Thin FPBP design as much, can't quite put my finger on why. But when I made the Flight Bag my edc, it accomplished a few things that distinguished it from the FPBP, which also helped me justify keeping the FPBP for trips. The Flight Bag ended up being great for the type of work I was in at the time, lighter, smaller, easier to quickly grab things out or put things in, and looked a little more "professional." Several of those things are the opposite of what I care about for a trip. Didn't really need smaller/lighter/professional as much, and had all the benefits I discussed in the video.
Haha no snakes I hope, but you might have caught sight of an extension cord or garden hose I would guess.
Or if you're referring to the sounds, that's Texas summer insects for you haha.
Yeah for a little while I didn’t use my backpack because I didn’t carry enough stuff to work to justify it. But now I carry more and it’s pretty nice. It’s versatile in the sense that you could also use it for travel or a nice foot rest (like being rough with it). But as OP mentioned, a flight bag would be better for professional settings and when you want to take less. Would I go back in time and pick my FPB? Yes! I still like it. These days when I Don take it to work I find myself regretting it.
Hey I was wondering if I could use some of your videos from the 2012 Sufjan Christmas tour in my video? I'm making a compilation of several clips from various shows (with credit of course) to make a 'complete' version. Thanks.
All done! Check it out at th-cam.com/video/t_bLUt1D7f0/w-d-xo.html. I didn’t get a response so if you don’t want me using your clips, just let me know and I’ll remove them.
@@JonasBrosFanclub So sorry for the late response! Yes you can use my clips! Gonna check your video out asap.
@@jamrbn Sweet, hope you enjoy and happy xmas!
do you still have a slim version youd sell?
I haven't owned a slim version. Just from seeing the design and capacity I decided I prefer the size of the one I already have.
Where did you get that cable bag?
Got a pack of them on amazon! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T9K5TPZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
