Excellent Tutorial! Watching this video reminded me of watching Bob Ross; Just breezing through, making it look effortless. It leaves one feeling like, 'Great, got it. I'll just pop over to Rhino and make mine own in a few minutes.' Then realize: It is difficult. this guy is just Very skilled and knowledgable.[Better to follow along with video.] Thank you!
I really enjoyed watching this! Thank you. I'm after a Think course which was pretty slow to me. I have learn a few you commands from you already, so much fun!!
Great. One question - when you moved the rectangle which was created by the uv crv, on the left and right sides, to align the arrayed objects to the edges, did this change its length? Would this affect the flow back onto the polysurface?
Hi Chen, It is good video to understand, i need your help to know how can i different widthof flat sheets over surface in Dome like your video, top in 400mm and bottom 230mm width
another nice on demand tutorial. thank you. to precicely copy the sample item edges could be be filleted and even better, hexagons could be surface blended and patched first, then arrayed and flowed, for a very smooth result as shown in the picture.
hey PJ! thank you for another great video. when I do boolean difference it doesn't work as it works for you.. it keeps the inside of the first hexagon instead and deletes all the rest... any idea why? how can i solve it? i aligned (top) all of them including the surface to 0, so this is not the problem.. Thanks!
when I boolean difference the shapes from the UV'd surface, it just deletes the solids and I'm left with the wireframes (of the array shapes)... If I boolean intersection instead, it works on some of them properly, but not all of them. Any advice?
Could you please make a video on the mosquito coil structure, as we see in the new package spiral double attached? Note that single spiral coil CAD is available , but double attached spiral coil is not availbale
Hello PJ first of all thanks for making videos on rhino... I am trying to make a ring design which I'm finding very difficult will u please help me or make that design if I send you.
Thank you so much PJ. I have challenge with the flow along surface. The pattern is not closing up on the surface of the object. I use rhino 5. What could be the problem? I'd like to hear from you. Thank you.
Hi my friend. I have done all what did you do and all succeeded but but the last scaling failed. I don`t understand if i try reduce it, the whole thing shrinks.
When you did the Boolean difference it was done instantly, but when I am doing it, it is saying Boolean difference in progress press escape to cancel and nothing is happening after that. I don't know what to do
When I edit the video, I will cut the waiting time. I don't think you want to wait for my computer running. If your computer running slow or nothing happend, you may run out of ram space or hard drive space.
@@PJChenJewelryDesign Hi I got it in the end but when I went to flow objext along the surface my computer could nt process it either Ive done somthing wrong or my computers too slow lol
You are a fantastic instructor! Thank you for explaining everything so well.
You're very welcome!
Brilliant tutorial at last somebody that understands that a voice over description is necessary in teaching, keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
Excellent video. You do such a great job describing the process!

Great. One question - when you moved the rectangle which was created by the uv crv, on the left and right sides, to align the arrayed objects to the edges, did this change its length? Would this affect the flow back onto the polysurface?
the object will be stretched to fit to the target surface when use flow along surface unless you check the rigid option.
Thank you for your rapid response. I have always assumed that the uv unwrapped rectangle had to be unchanged. This is really great. Thanks again.

It sounds like your object is not solid. I also have few videos at Q//A session explain why boolean is not working.

Wow ! Nice PJ ! But flow along surface is only work for smooth Surface ?
no. any texture will work. as long as the seams are aligned.
when I boolean difference the shapes from the UV'd surface, it just deletes the solids and I'm left with the wireframes (of the array shapes)... If I boolean intersection instead, it works on some of them properly, but not all of them. Any advice?
you model may not be solid.
@@PJChenJewelryDesign thanks for the quick response! I'll try again tonight. Your videos are great.
Really verry good
Thank you!
fantastic..
Thanks
Just awesome ❤️❤️❤️... 💕
Thank you~~
Cool!
thank you and hello from Greece . the UV curve still ataching perfectly to the prototipe since you "scale" it at 7:30 ???
The shape will align even you scale. as long as the shape are align from seam (edge) to seam. it will be a close polysurface.
Awesome, Thank you :3 Really useful video :D
You are very welcome!
love you !!!
Yeah!!
Very good

Hi PJ. 7:28 How To Rectangle Extend?
you can move the control point on the corner as shown in video. Make sure the smart track is on so you can align to the midpoint of the pattern.
Could you please make a video on the mosquito coil structure, as we see in the new package spiral double attached? Note that single spiral coil CAD is available , but double attached spiral coil is not availbale
do you have image?
@@PJChenJewelryDesign simply consider commercially available mosquito coil.. kindly forward your mail id . I will attach image

Hello! Would it be possible to use this technique to apply it on a 3D sphere ?
not with this command.
Thank you so much PJ.

What could be the problem?
I'd like to hear from you. Thank you.
Thanks I figured it out.
I tried it by not increasing the size or the uv plane and it worked.
Thank you.
perfect!
Hello, I have the same problem without changing any scale, and I don't understand why. Could you help me please ?
@@violette4494 you have to make sure the design is match on both end when it is flat. so it will be matching when it flow back to original surface.
What you just have to do is, to clic right at the corner. You have to be precise on it.
Everything works perfect but I got stuck on the transform part. It doesn't appear on my 'vase'. Any idea what could be causing this?
not sure what is the issue without seeing your model. Does your base surface right under your patterns?
@@PJChenJewelryDesign Same here :( what do you mean the base surface under the patterns?
they seem to be aligned with the patterns
Will this work using a Mac???? STRAIGHT ANSWER PLEASE!
Rhino 7 do have Mac version. You can check the software at www.rhino3D.com
Hi my friend. I have done all what did you do and all succeeded but but the last scaling failed. I don`t understand if i try reduce it, the whole thing shrinks.
I cannot tell what the issue is without seeing the model. you can email me at pj@pjchendesign.cm with a short description.
PJ Chen Jewelry Design Ok. I try to do it👍🏻 thanks for the answer🙌🏻
nice video ! but for me it creates horizontal patterns instead of vertical, i don't understand why...

@@PJChenJewelryDesign thank you for your reply, but can you tell me how much time it took for Boolean??
I dont want my pattern to shrink while going down..i want to keep it intact ...how can i do that ?
If that is the case, you can work on ONE pattern directly on the vase and use polar array.
Hi mate why when I get to the hexagon part it wont split strange using rhino 6
could you describe what it did?
