I gave out over $450 in Primes in this 3/4 race! Go get the money, go get the money!

SLR has a lot of strong guys - ever consider getting guys on the front early and making the race hard? cull the field early as these 3/4 races are usually a big scrum with 3k to go ?

@@Chris-derf5 we did that at chocolate city and it cut the field down a little bit but you need be like 2x stronger than the entire field to even have a chance to just shred everything apart. We had two guys in this race who were prime hunting and they gobbled up a bunch and they monitored the front. All easier said than done. It's much more about positioning in these than just trying to bang out as much power as possible and overpowering people. And if we are prepping for the elite races in the near future, we can't just try to ride everyone off the wheel haha

@@jameskim3 true although making a race hard is a technique you see in most elite level races. making it hard early isnt the same as riding them off your wheel

@@Chris-derf5Yeah but in the elite races you will usually see maybe 3 dominant teams make the race hard etc vs just one team. At the cat 3 level, most teams and solo racers a little more 'negative' in the way they race to conserve energy for the finish. The elite guys can go hard all day long it seems hahaha

@Chris-derf5 I'm the GII guy with the orange Pinarello in the video. I totally agree with @jameskim3. The primes made it difficult to consistently execute one strategy because they were back to back in some instances. Guys like me who had no intentions on sprinting were able to walk away with a couple $$$ so it was appreciated.
SLR definitely executed that strategy at chocolate city and I loved it because it shredded the field, but I also got a free ride for the majority of the race so it was a dangerous experiment. Unfortunately was crashed out of that one with 3 to go because riders went down infront of me.

@@jtj1903 oof that's rough that you got caught in that crash. Our team along with a couple other people nuked it super hard for the first 5ish minutes until the dust settled a little. I'm sure there were a ton of mini gaps in the field in those first 5 minutes hahaha. I wasn't doing the work tho lol... I was sitting in for most of it towards the front if I could. Anyhow, the chocolate city course offered less rest than most courses I did this year and a lot more nuking our of corners - my opinion/thought. Made for a harder race in general
