    There is so much content to be made on arcade hardware that hasn't been touched on TH-cam! This is exactly the content I've been looking for.

    What an incredible journey and amazing video. Been working with 573 for some time now for our barcade, and this truly opens up my knowledge to maybe try to fix some broken systems I have laying around. Great to know all in all.

    This video is such a wealth of knowledge - thank you for making it and for your contributions to making the open source schematics and SDK! Those will undoubtedly be instrumental in maintaining these machines and preserving such an important portion of gaming history.

    Addendum:
    Firstly a thanks to Tweak who supplied images of their IIDX 8th style cabinet! And so sorry I missed you out on the credits screen 🤦‍♂
    Secondly, I made a mistake with DDR Solo's networking. I said it uses a ring topology like you'd get in a token ring network (similar to what Sega used for the model series and the Naomi) - This isn't correct, it's actually a multidrop bus more like how the JVS port works with RS485. (Thanks to Hydreigon for pointing this out).

    I have been working on 573’s for a very long time. I recently got one for my red japanese DDR cabinet. And i owned a ddr cabinet about a decade ago. This is incredibly well done and incredibly thorough. Well done.

    I love my 573s, as I use them to play the Konami 80's Arcade Gallery vertically. That's actually why I stumbled upon this video. I've always wanted to get the US security cartridge for the game, but every "US version" I've seen of Konami 80's AC Special is hacked to not use the security cart, so I am wondering how these systems were hacked to do so.
    Also, bear in mind that while the PS1 hardware would have certainly been outdated for top-end arcade games by the late 90's, arcade games are sold at different price points. That's why even in the early 2000s, Konami, Namco, Taito and Tecmo and others could just distribute PS1-based JAMMA systems (or even just the software) to generic candy cabs for games like space shooters or puzzlers. Those games looked good on existing generic 15khz/240p arcade cabs, were cheaper to make, easy to get a hold of, and could get an easy 100 yen per play from local players honing a genre skill.

    Although butt day was a fun bit of trivia. :)
    Edit: I have just reached the end of the video and I am appalled by the fact that you did not credit me for letting you borrow my car to get your arcade cab footage.

    The idea of making an arcade cabinet based on the first PlayStation is intriguing, did not know that.
    But yeah, not surprising that it was not used much, since the PSX graphics looked dated quite soon after it was released.

    Hola espero que puedas traducir esto lo que voy a escribir, lo que pasa es que tengo una konami syste 573 y realicé la instalación del socket para el cambio de la memoria RTC RAM ya que había muerto, empezó a funcionar bien, pero de un tiempo para acá empezó a reiniciarse solo e indica que hay errores de RTC RAM y me reinicia nuevamente, inclusive al cargar juego desde el CD, se reinicia constantemente, voy a realizar nuevamente el cambio de socket y verificar continuidad si ha quedado bien instalado y realizar nuevamente pruebas, o ¿qué otro problema puede ser? necesito ayuda, espero que me responda, muchas gracias y excelente video.

    • @NaokisRC
      @NaokisRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hola. Sin saber cómo se ve la reparación o poder diagnosticar otras partes de la placa, es muy difícil saber dónde buscar. El BIOS no comprueba la RAM de RTC, por lo que si está recibiendo "Ree restablecimiento de hardware" en la pantalla, podría ser otra cosa. Necesitaría ver qué chip tiene el error, por ejemplo, "18E BAD". Si es el juego que dice que el RTC es malo, entonces es posible que deba probar el RTC, ya que podría haber fallado de nuevo. También perdona esta traducción si se lee mal, ¡dessafortunadamente no hablo español!

      @@NaokisRC está muy bien traducido, lo curioso es que carga muy bien la BIOS y no tiene problemas o algún código que muestre que es lo que está fallando, pero al tratar de iniciar el juego se reinicia, he probado muchas cosas, a veces limpio la BIOS y funciona un tiempo, luego pasa que se reinicia de un momento a otro, y se genera un bucle constante. 😓

    • @NaokisRC
      @NaokisRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Si el BIOS muestra "READ PROGRAM...", entonces el BIOS está cargando el juego desde la unidad de CD y es probable que la unidad no esté leyendo correctamente. Tal vez su unidad de CD esté fallando y necesite ser reemplazada en tal caso. Tengo una lista de unidades de trabajo conocidas, aunque posiblemente también haya más: github.com/NaokiS28/KSystem-573/blob/main/Working%20Drive%20List.md

      @@NaokisRC ya le encontré la solución, por si alguno le pasa lo que me pasó a mi, el problema radicaba en la fuente de poder, yo había instalado la fuente de un PC, pero al tiempo salió defectuosa, se realizó reemplazo de la fuente de energía, se realizaron las pruebas todo quedó funcionando sin inconvenientes, lo peor de todo es que nunca sospeché de ella, pero al cambiar los chips rtc ram y la Eeprom la única que me faltó descartar es la fuente de energía, muchas gracias por contestar y darme una orientación en esta hermosa y reliquia konami system. 😃😁🤙

    Somehow arcade systems based on PlayStation felt like the best for me. You can see IIDX, DDR in it's past using it, and the PS2 to PS3 era with Tekken 4(if Im correct?) to its T6 days

    I had to come back to this video to say this.
    Somehow we're all sorta wrong about those arcade games not being able to run on a real PS1 or rather PS1 emulator.
    I was messing around with the app that runs Simpsons Bowling on the Simpsons Arcade1up cabinet and its running a Baby Phoenix game with Duckstation.
    A Konami game made for their arcade hardware running on what is seemingly a simple PS1 emulator, something that should be completely impossible in the first place just like the Wipeout port to the 573 you showcased.

    • @NaokisRC
      @NaokisRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      The thing is, most of the retail based PSX arcade systems such as the 573, Phoenix run games and the games and even the “BIOS” as PSX apps, Im actually trying to make a retail PSX run 573 stuff since it is theoretically possible, provided they dont need IO like the digital IO
