i've been playing around with monitors and tv's since i was 14, i take a lot of things for granted. The green tint might be a magnetic issue, could be fixed by deagussing it manually with a coil, or it clould just be the adjustment pots are a bit oxidized and you couldn't get the green just right, there's also the possibbility that the blue and red guns are a little more worn than the green one but the adjustments should allow you to make up for that.
The color thing is a bummer! If that chassis refurbished and the flyback is new, I’d expect it to look absolutely perfect upon plugging it in. It also looked like the focus knob on the flyback could use a quarter turn. Seemed a tiny bit out of focus when you showed the picture up close. May have just been the camera though. Great video. Thanks for uploading it
When you pulled the back off I could see quite a bit of dust around the monitor neck. You probably have dust on the guns which could cause the green tint. A rejuvenator is expensive as hell but it heats up the guns to burn the dust off... you could try tapping the neck to physically knock dust out but be warned, if you break the neck the monitor is pretty much dead.
@@domitg it could have knocked some dust down in there. I'm assuming the guy who fixed up the spare board did a cap kit on it, and since you weren't having the green tint before, it really seems like an issue with the guns to me. I doubt they are going bad all of a sudden between board changes.
BTW, You could definitely fix that other board yourself. Cap kits and flyback replacements are pretty easy. They make pre assembled and labeled kits for a lot of arcade monitors. You just gotta find out the brand and model monitor in the dedicab. www.arcadeshop.com/
This experience could be yours for the low price of $7500!
That's a better price than most
The maintenance of a CRT is worth it to me, just so I don't ever have to worry about adjusting a visual offset
How's that going 2 years later 😅
6:16 Glad to see my PIU GX chassis came in handy :-)
Huge throw back memory.

I very lightly brushed some of the dust off with a cutip. Do you think that doing that might have caused this?

Well, this was uploaded, so that’s good
looks troublesome. hat off to you for sticking with it.
Can you share the model of your monitor, the one on the left with the pads? (Not the CRT)
