    Thanks for a great video. So many on you tube go on and on and on for 10 minutes, saying nothing very educational. You are a very good speaker, informative yet to the point quickly.

      I agree. I look at the length of the video & if I see if it's over maybe 25 min., I can't listen for something that's as long as a documentary or tv show. If it takes 1/2 hr or more, make 2. Some get off topic & having things to do, I can't sit through a 1/2 hr video. Anne is sweet, pleasant and stays on point. Love you Anne-Marie!

      how do I get these oils for tightening

  • @mariad7915
    @mariad7915 8 ปีที่แล้ว +38

    I would highly encourage everyone to dilute the essential oils. 1% is safe and effective especially for facial skin. Sensitization can happen which is systemic, different from skin irritation. Any of your favorite fixed/carrier/veg/fruit oils may be used or even an infused carrier oil. 1% is 1 drop per teaspoon or 6 drops/ ounce. If you find you're not getting results you want increase gradually, but not more than 3%.
    In addition to Frankincense and Neroli, if one can get past the smell, carrot seed essential oil is great for mature skin. There is also a fixed carrot seed oil so be sure to read description. You should notice a price difference too. Rose is said to be lovely too and while costly so little is needed.

      +Saven Maven Hi! Thank you for the great information! I have carrot seed oil and agree with you on the smell....it's a tough one to take and I end up not using it as much as I should due to the scent. It helps when I mix a drop or two with other oils to mute the smell a bit. Thank you for watching and commenting with the info, I appreciate it! xo Anne

      You are so welcome. I have a skin blend from Plant Therapy and sadly only used it a few times due to smell. Reminds me of black licorice.

      What's the differences between the carrot oil and the fixed carrot oil? Is one better team the other?

    Some of my favorite essential oils that I've used along the way for skin health recipes are... tea tree, lavender, carrot seed, coffee, lemongrass, Frankincense, Patchouli, Myrrh, Rose, Rose Geranium, Geranium, Palmarosa, Bergamot and Rosemary.
    As for the carrier oils that I've used and like the most, they are Tamanu, Aloe Vera carrier oil, Neem, Cacay, Rosehip, Argan, grape seed and all with a touch of Vitamin E carrier oil added. It helps to keep them a little longer so they don't go rancid so fast.
    There are a couple things that I would like to mention. People need to do research on oils that they're wanting to combine because not all essential oils can be safely used together. If you're looking up information online, just make sure it's from a reputable source! Just because it's online don't mean it's the truth, LoL.
    The other thing that needs to be mentioned is that certain essential oils will cause phototoxicity, such as citrus oils. This will cause a darkening of the skin, which is called hyperpigmentation. Any essential oil that could have a phototoxic reaction should only be used at night. Again, I highly recommend reading on phototoxic essential oils so that you're aware of all that could be an issue!
    There's a wealth of knowledge online when it comes to this topic, and it can definitely seem overwhelming and confusing when you first start trying to learn about all of the health benefits from the oils!
    What I found to be a bit easier was to just buy a book on all essential oils. I have found so much information online prior to buying books, which I would then save in my notes or memos on my phone so I could find it again, and much easier and faster!
    Thank you Anne Marie for doing the videos. I Love to learn different diy skincare recipes, tips and tricks! Okay, I'm done. Sorry for the ramble, LoL ❤

      Great information! I tend to only use my oils at night and absolutely love tamanu oil. Is the coffee an oil? I'll have to google it! I take it that would have tightening effects like with caffeine? You mentioned lots of things I want to look up, thank you! Lots of love xoxo

    The 2 essential oils I use most often for skin care are carrot seed oil and calendula. Both are very healing on the skin and the carrot seed oil in particular helps improve skins elasticity. Calendula is very healing in that it helps clear redness or rashiness. My favorite is rosehip seed oil, I use it instead of a serum at night. It's rich in naturally occurring retinol (vitamin A) and is most effective if used at night.

      helpfulnatural Thank you for the great info! Someone else mentioned they use carrot seed oil as well and like it too--that's one I'll have to look into and give it a try. Like you, I use my oils as a serum as well then I put my face cream on over them after they soak in a bit. Thank you again for sharing the wonderful information! xo Anne

    • @helpfulnatural

      amc tomy Yes, carrot seed oil is wonderful stuff. Don't be put off by the smell though, it's a bit strong and it does need to be diluted with another carrier oil but it does wonderful things for your skin, especially around the eyes. I make my own lip balm and in the winter I'll put more essential oils in it to combat drying and chapping. Calendula is great for that as well as Chamomile. It's to the point where no one in my family buys commercial lip balm anymore!
      Have a great weekend!

    Hi..I totally agree with using essential oils for skin preparation and caring. I use a few drops of Lavender and Frankincense in Fractionated Coconut Oil and cleanse my skin with this.. I put the mixture into a spray glass bottle and then spray onto damp cotton wool pads.. I need very little mosturising after that.. it removes all make up and nourishes my lashes too! I use the brand doterra because of their purity 😊

    Other anti aging from the inside: Brew of chicken bones or beef bone with organic animal bone ones if possible.
    Ad some white wine or apple cider vinegar in the cooking pot and make sure to not brought up to boiling point just at the limit of boiling point and cook for 4 to 6 hours. If it is a right cooking it should become jelly when cool off. Drink 3 cups per day and you'll never age!! Oh well almost !

      @BeautyByAnneMarie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I agree, mine are all pre-diluted (I think they are mixed with grapeseed oil) but for those who get 100% pure essential oils it is important to mix with a carrier. Lots of love xoxo

  • @lmmbchampion

    I will have to try this blend! I've been using frankincense and adding helichrysum and also carrot seed. The carrier oil I use is rose hip seed oil since it is supposed to be good for aging skin. I'm saving up for rose essential oil...it's pretty expensive but a GREAT one for the skin.

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds like a great blend of oils! I've never heard of helichrysum oil but will look it up! I have carrot seed as well and occasionally add a drop of it to some of my oils. I've only tried rose oil blends and should really try a bottle of rose essential oil sometime. xoxo

    yes! And it's miraculous! Add a drop of lemon oil and orange oil to tea. actually, I have an herbal mix that I use that is amazing, but the oils will literally transform your skin if ingested. I've never used in topically, but I'm guessing it would be just as amazing.

I'm getting ready to turn 60 and the skin on my face looks good for my age as I've always used different healing creams throughout the years, however, I now have crepey skin legs with deep wrinkles on knee area and lower arms from having lifeguarded and instructed swimming in the south for years. I see you natural oils you recommend, anything else you would recommend? I enjoy your videos. thanks Lynne

      Hi! Hmmm, I have heard you can use a dermaroller on the body to help tighten up skin, although I have not personally tried this (I do use one on my face and love it). You can add some of these oils to your body lotion and you could try a firming body lotion which might help a bit. Oh and maybe dry brushing the skin (again, I have not tried this but heard it is good). Those are the only things I can think of to tighten up body skin. I hope this helps some! I appreciate you watching! xoxo

    I put pure frankincense essential oil directly on my face and my skin has never reacted negatively to it, plus I love the scent. I don't have sensitive skin. I also mix palmarosa essential oil with coconut oil (50/50) and have been using that as my deodorant for years. I do not put palmarosa on my face because that does sting slightly and I don't see it as a face oil, but it has no ill effect at all on the rest of my skin. I get my oils from New Directions Aromatics. You can get 3.3 ounce bottles of essential oils at such reasonable prices that I only order them every 1-2 years. I've experimented with so many oils for hair and skin, but frankincense, coconut, and palmarosa are my holy grails for every day.

    I thank you so very much for sharing this great information! I have to say this 'recipe' of oils definitely makes a difference. I saw this video 3 weeks ago and promptly purchased the oils, as well as rose hip seed oil, which I added in with the 4 you mentioned. I am pleasantly surprised with the results and have waited until now to post so that I had a few weeks of using it before saying anything. I can't exactly put my finger on what the difference is, but my skin looks better-- maybe fresher? I don't know, but I am excited. And again, thank you for sharing! Shake Up Makeup Thank you Laura! I do have some local honey and will try taking a teaspoonful everyday and see if it helps :))
      I actually don't mix mine with a carrier oil (if you have really sensitive skin you should though) I just mix the 4 oils together and apply (my frankincense oil is already diluted when I bought it and I think it is diluted with grapeseed oil) . Some good carrier oils for the face are argan and jojoba (you don't need too much just a couple drops)--or if you have the Palmer's face therapy oil you could use it as a carrier oil too. Let me know what you think if you give them a try :) Thanks for the great info! xo Anne

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never tried lavender EO, but did try the lemon once without diluting it and it burned my skin, so would definitely recommend diluting with a carrier oil. I haven't used the lemon since that time, although I have heard good things about both EO's. I would dilute them with a carrier but imagine you could mix them all together and apply. xoxo

    You sound and look beautiful as usual Anne. Your hair looks awesome like that....Omg...My favorite classic style! I SHOULD CHOP SOME OFF MINE AND GO FOR THE LONG BOB. I have my bangs cut that way too...just more of a part (I always had amazing brows so I swipe mine to one side and tuck one side behind my ear. I actually like my ears...most people don't). My mother is always on my about getting my hair off my face because I am " supposedly" hiding my great God given profile...Please...I will be 80 and she will still be alive and thriving telling me what to do and point out anything not perfect as it is her job! I love my bed all white too....got a white tufted ...nice and low for Declan to enjoy too. It is the Tully Bed....you can check it out it is the most unusual but very modern cool bed. Google the white Tully Bed. Or White tufted Tully bed. You can't miss it.
    You look extra super pretty and all fresh and natural here. I NOTICE IF I stay more on the fair side and ease up on the bronzer it looks better.

      Thank you so much!!! This is my favorite way I have ever had my hair and am now growing it out to this again ;) I grew it even longer after I had this style and then it started getting some breakage from some new products I had tried so I ended up cutting it in a bob above my shoulders :( Now it's down to my shoulders but this was definitely my favorite style in this video. I bet you would look great with a long bob! I think long bobs are so nice. Googled the bed and it is really pretty!!! Lots of love xoxo

      Beauty By Anne-Marie I use it on skin mainly sometimes hair. Safflower oil is meant to be the best in trials for hair growth it even out shone minoxidil for hair growth apparently and is really quite cheap, a fraction of the price of minoxidil and no nasty side effects. Great channel you have btw! I’m obviously a subscriber and working my way through the catalog of your helpful videos. Who’d of thought Nivea cellulite serum works on eye bags. I struggle with trying to make my skin look as good as I can with at home treatments and am more than happy to share any tips I come across that helps with anti-aging ;) I've been using a fade cream (trying 3 of them out) and will be doing a video on those soon as well since I think they help greatly to even the skin tone and make the skin in turn look younger. Thank you for watching and for the great comments and questions! xo Anne

    How did you get to be so smart, Anne? I have not used any oils on my face, or neck, yet. The skin on my face is still producing oil. I fear, if I should add oil, my body will not get the message to make oil, Does this make sense to you? Timing is everything, and I want to be prepared it the oil faucet stops working. Loved this. Blessings....ME

      +MaryEllen After 60 Hi MaryEllen! Thank you ;) It's just out of my desperation that I look into different at home anti-aging products. I don't have time or budget for the medspa and prefer to do things myself anyway LOL. Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about and I would have the same concern if I had oilier skin I think. They do say that oils can help oily skin but I don't know for a fact if this actually works or not since I have such dry skin. Plus, what works for one person may not for another even if they have the same skin type. I agree with you it's always good to have options for when and if things change ;) Hope you have a wonderful day sweetie! xo Anne

    Essential oil for anti-aging and tightening the skin:
    FIRST, dilute with carrier oil (with proper dilution rules), then use.
    1. Patchouli eo: anti-infammatory, reduces pores, tightening the skin. Good for neck area.
    2. Myrrh eo: anti-inflammatory, impoves skin tone and elasticity. Good for crepey skin.
    3. Frankincense eo: protects the cells, encourages cells growth, increases elasticity.
    4. Neroli eo: stimulates new cells growth, reduces scars and pores, improves elasticity. Good for neck area and crepey skin.
    (Avoid myrrh when pregnant and breasfeeding).

    Hi Anne, thank you for your videos. I look forward to trying some of your recommendations, oils, derma rolling... I recently ordered a 0.5 derma roller and am hopeful that I will be able to achieve the kind of results of great skin as you have. I have gone to a couple of aestheticians who say that derma rolling does not tighten skin just improves the surface texture and only offer micro needling with a derma pen instead. But basically it is the same concept of injuring the skin with tiny needles. The device is a Derma Pen. I have sensitive skin, allergy prone to irritants, break out in either hives or red pinpoint bumps with some products so and am a little bit apprehensive of putting oils or creams if I don't know how I will react so I need to approach carefully. What was your first experience with derma rolling and how did you start ? Any recommendations as to how I should begin?
    Keep the videos coming, really enjoy and find so informative, All the best, Dee

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Dee Rodriguez Hi Dee! Thank you so much for watching and for the lovely comment. I do find using a lidocaine cream before I use my dermaroller helpful for reducing the discomfort of the needling (be sure to wash off the lidocaine cream before you use your dermaroller). Yes, you're correct it is the same concept (basically the same thing) as the derma pen (just less expensive than going in to have it done by someone else--sometimes they go deeper than you might at home). I started slowly with the dermaroller...just using it once every 2-4 weeks with only 5-7 rolls in each direction. I roll only on my wrinkled areas or areas that I want more collagen produced (some people do their entire face but I don't). Be sure to sanitize the roller after each use with rubbing alcohol as well and I would just use what ever skin care you normally use at night time after rolling (I only roll at night because it does leave my skin red like a sunburn but is gone by morning). A couple of good creams that I find help with the irritation of rolling are: Weleda skin food (it's heavier and greasy but repairs the skin nicely and also Avene Citalfate repair cream) You probably already saw my videos on dermarolling and on post dermarolling products but I'll put the links here in case you haven't and are interested: th-cam.com/video/6dOuPz7KNQs/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/99ol3btJD6I/w-d-xo.html and one on the numbing cream: th-cam.com/video/35HRZNGq7Ec/w-d-xo.html I hope this helps! xo Anne

    When you suggest to mix these oils with products like jojoba oil, is that in case your skin is sensitive. I don’t think my skin would be sensitive to any of the oils.i suppose it is a way to extend the oil. Do you ever put these oils on the morning, or just in the evening. I would think if you applied them in the morning applying your makeup would be difficult, as your face would be too greasy. This video doesn’t address the lips, but I’ll ask do you applied the lip treatment every night, and do you do the 25 derm roller every night. Seems like most of the treatments you do whether it be the hair, the lips or what have you, you do them 3 or 4 times a week. I’m planning to do the treatments every day. I believe the .25 roller you can do that every evening. You have been really good about answering me in a timely manor. Thanks for that :)

      Thank you! Yes, mixing it with a carrier oil just so it won't be irritating (sometimes 100% pure essential oils are strong and can be a bit too irritating on the skin). I usually just applied them at night (I did put a few drops of each in my body lotion which I applied in the morning to my body). I do apply my lip 6x balm that I love every night and yes you can use the 0.25 every night if you want you are absolutely correct! Lots of love xoxo

    Hi Anne, I'd love to try these essential oils on my neck. I'm just starting to use the Nivea Skin Firming & Smoothing Concentrated Serum on that area. • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whenever I use them I typically apply them first (just a few drops so it's not a really thick layer) and let it soak in then apply my other products. A lot of people prefer to add the oils at the end of skin care routine though and that probably allows for the retin a to absorb better so is probably best ;) Lots of love xoxo

    Do you apply these oils to your skin right out of the bottle? Or do you dilute them with a carrier oil (and if so- which one?) thank you so much, you're beautiful and sweet too. I love your video's and am bookmarking all of them

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much!!! Mine come pre-diluted with grapeseed oil, so I do just apply them straight since they already are mixed with a carrier oil, but if yours are pure essential oil without a carrier then I'd definitely mix in a carrier oil (so many carrier oils to choose from: coconut, argan, almond, grapeseed etc) xoxo

      Mine are already pre-diluted so I just mix them together and apply. If you have pure essential oils then you will want to add a little carrier oil in the mix (coconut, jojoba, argan, grapeseed, etc). I just use about 10 drops of each. Lots of love to you xoxo

    I appreciate these tips. I'm new to essential oils and what I'm finding is that in doing searches online for best firming oils, I get a different recipe every site I visit. I find that a bit maddening. How could there be so many different answers? Shouldn't there be specific oils that are known for that specific thing and a blend that is good for that specific purpose. Surely someone has worked this out over time, unless there is a difference based on different skin types.

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I found the same thing you did when I started looking up essential oils. So I just put together the ones I kept hearing about for anti-aging the skin and then looked up those individual ones and went with the 4 I thought would help my skin best. It does get confusing and there are so many different oils. I love these 4 that I mix together (sometimes I use them individually as well). I appreciate you taking the time to watch and to comment! It means a lot to me. xoxo

      +Kylie B Hi Kylie! I've never heard of that brand, but will google it. I have been very happy with my Now brand that I can purchase at my local health food store. Thanks for the suggestion! xoxo Anne

    how do I add carrot seed to this recipe? what is the measurement for each please. I'm going to make it today. can this be used in morning routine? did you have morning facial oil recipe? Thanks so much.

      +Vanessa C Hi Vanessa! I don't measure anything, I just add about 5-10 drops of each oil in my palm and mix them together and apply to my face, neck, chest and backs of hands. I guess you could use it in the morning, I use mine at night though. I think I'd use a little less of each oil if using it in the morning so it's not too shiny on your face. Just add the carrot seed oil drops with the other oils. It's really easy and no set recipe. I will be doing a video soon showing how I add them all in a bottle together. Thanks so much for watching! xoxo

    I have lost 60 lbs the past year and have crepey skin on my neck and arms. I am wondering how these oils would help this. Thanks

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They would probably help some, I notice that my face (where I apply mine) is a little firmer. You might also try Palmer's bust cream after you apply the oils. I use my oils like a serum at night (my first step) and then apply other products on top. The bust cream has peptides and helps to firm skin (face and body). I think I would try both those (these oils and the bust cream). BTW I have to order my palmer's bust cream online but have heard it is in babies r us stores (never been there though). Also, you could dermaroll the area as well with a 0.5mm dermaroller which is suppose to help tighten skin on the face/body as well. I hope this helps some! xoxo

    I love EO's! Do you apply these after all other nighttime products? Thanks

      I usually apply them first, like a serum and let them soak in for a good 15-20 minutes then apply other products on top. xoxo

    I'm hearing that castor oil is also good for the skin. I have used it for my eyebrows and lashes with great results. Have not tried it on my skin

    What carrier oil do you use? I would imagine organic coconut oil wouldn't work well as a carrier on the skin with these oils due to it being to greasy? I do know that coconut oil has skin healing extracts but not sure how it would do on the face?

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      These essential oils that I use come pre-diluted with grapeseed oil so I don't add any additional carrier oil. I do use coconut oil on my face sometimes to remove my makeup and it works great. It could be used as a carrier as well other good ones are grapeseed, almond and jojoba. xoxo

    I’m considering buying the oils and want to know what to mix in each of them if they can not be used topically without adding. I don’t know if i would know what oil to add, if you can give a suggestion. Thanks

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can mix them with any carrier oil (grapeseed, jojoba, coconut, almond... there are a long list of them if you google carrier oils) my oils are pre-diluted with grapeseed, but you can add few drops of any carrier in with your essential oils. Lots of love xoxo

    Hello 👋 Do you mix all these oils or layering ? I am using rosehip oil and apricot oil and ordered frankincense oil and so far no issues with my dry skin and finally acne free. I layer it on the oil or mix it and apply on inner arm for allergies or something before put on face .

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can do either...I typically just mix them and then apply :)) xoxo

      BeautyBy Anne-Marie Ok thanks! I figured to mix it because it takes to long for it to dry .

      Those are three great ingredients to use for diy recipes! I just want to add that people should use organic unprocessed unfiltered raw honey so the skin will receive benefits from the nutrients that's in honey. A lot of the stuff in the stores has been heated and processed, therefore it damages the nutrients. Yogurt not has good bacteria that we need, but it's also a form of lactic acid so it's truly amazing for the skin. Nature has given us so many amazing things to take care of ourselves, internally and externally!
      Blessings and peace

    hi beautiful, just a quick question. you mentioned you put all 4 oils in the palm of your hand and mixture them up then put on your face . do you add a base oil to that or just straight out of bottle? I thought it had to be mixed with a base?

    • @BeautyByAnneMarie
      @BeautyByAnneMarie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question and I forgot to say in the video that the oils I purchase come pre-diluted with a carrier oil (I think they used grapeseed). Since they are pre-diluted I just mix them and apply. You are right though, if your oils are 100% essential oils you would want to mix in a carrier oil. Lots of love xoxo
