Did you do any student teaching/field hours while getting your Associates? Sometimes future employers will count that as experience.
Try church daycares
Church daycares might pay low but they will give you a chance
@@yllamadavenport8339 that's what I did, for like 3 years I worked as a nursery aide for my church and then a few months working as a floater for their private daycare
@@isabelfaith I did this and my specialist asked me to apply. I was hired at the completion of my field work so I am currently working as a student worker/teacher. One thing I will say, I always showed up on time and only missed two or three days but made up the hours quickly. I also asked a lot of questions and did my best to implement theory into practice. I feel like that showed them how interested and dedicated I was to working with children. I truly recommend taking a practicum class; they’re usually required (at least here…I’m in Los Angeles). And even if you don’t get a job out of it, you are gaining experience which you can add to your resume. I also highly recommend taking at least a few classes in person and getting to know your peers and forming connections with them. Most of the work you’re bound to get will be part time at this level of experience, and I’ve been informed about job openings from them because there was a lot of turnover during the pandemic. Also, I just think it’s nice to get friendly with people who you may or may not find yourself working with someday. It creates a sense of community and belonging.
This was a very informational video! So I recently decided to start working towards an associates degree in early childhood development. Due to the pandemic though, I have hopes of participating in online classes. Can you please tell me what’s my first step to beginning the process? I am so glad this video was helpful for you! The first step I would say is finding a community college or a 2 year school that offers Early Childhood Education as a Major. Then you would have to call & find out what you need to do to apply for college. From there you can begin the financial aid process. Once you are accepted into the college and Early Childhood Program, you can begin :) I hope this was helpful for you
