Just picked up a whiskey fire one the other day and ordered that lower faring piece. That piece bugged me as much as it bugged you! Looking forward to see what you come up with on these. Subscribed!
Great video. I pulled the trigger last month and bought my first brand new Harley. I thought about it alot and went w a white Street Glide. Bike is beautiful and see too many Road Glides everywhere. No regrets. 👍🏽
Thanks! The White Onyx is an amazing color! For the first time ever the SG's are going against the norm which is crazy to me. Interesting how the industry changes
I went from a 2000 fat boy to a 21 road glide limited 114. I’m a year round rider even in the winter so I’m excited about the faring and heated equipment it has. If the bike starts I accept the challenge.
Beautiful bike. Seen a guy change the whole back end of his black 2024 street glide back to the older design with extended bags. I’m a street glide guy planning on changing the fairing to road glide but not selling or trading the bike. Bought the fairing and going to order the dash.
Now that’s a great idea! (Street glide owner here) I feel stupid and was actually contemplating selling mine JUST to get a road glide I didn’t even think about simply changing out the fairing!! BRILLIANT idea! I guess I just didn’t think it was compatible!
That is a great color! I'm jealous of the 4k miles, I wish I would have bought mine earlier in the year to have the weather on my side. It's a blistering 26* here in South Dakota!
I have two RG’s and I’m seriously thinking of moving to the new SG for my next one. I agree, I think HD killed it on the new SG design. I’m stuck between the onyx white, blue burst and whiskey fire on black.
I was a sports bike guy and just got a 24 street glide yesterday in white and black. Absolutely love it lol only have 50 miles on her so I have to break it in but comfort is great besides it being 32 degrees riding it home last night 😂
I’ve owned 4 road glides and always go back to the batwing. Always talk myself into the roadglide and trade back to a batwing. I think there’s less wind noise on a batwing once you find your right windshield. Can’t go wrong with either one
I agree, the first 100 miles I put on this thing I was almost second guessing it. Then I put the KW 10" on and it changed everything for me. Absolutely love it now!
I just traded my 24 whiskey fire RG for a 24 Blue burst SG! I'll be ordering/exchanging your fairing trim piece and radiator cover as soon as they are shipping. So . . . Nashville says thanks for the video!!
@@thefactorymatch I like the "classic" fairing over the Shark nose plus hands not exposed to cold wind and I didn't like the far reach to touch the screen. At heart, I'm a SG guy your height/weight.
Bro I admire all the RG riders and their bikes look awesome. My riding background is the FXR (1998) then to the Heritage (2008) and now the SG. Add to the fact that I have previously owned 2 Ducati (999 and Panagale V2). I chose the 2024 SG as my sole bike because it allows me too adopt a more sportier riding position forward with my feet in neutral under me, closer to the dash and my arms in a relaxed position. The SG responds to twisties just like the DUC with the dash and rearview mirrors in relatively similar positions. On the other hand, the bagger element of the SG is immense with comfort, power, carrying capacity and classic sport riding position. Add to the mix the fact that batwing is beautifully scalloped for looks as well as wind performance. (The Klock 10" is a must.) So my take: The RG is a great bike and for all who like to ride in the more straight up or chopper seating position, more power too them. The SG is the closest thing to being its Sport Touring Brother.
I’ve had a few of both. 2 RG’s when the M8 first came out. Since I’ve had 2 CVO SG’s. My 2023.5 is the new batwing. At higher speeds (over 50-55) I would say the RG’s handled better, less buffeting, etc. Aesthetically I prefer the SG. Biggest reason I prefer the SG? The distance everything is from me. Not only because of a shorter reach, I can see everything better when it’s closer to me.
Its been awhile since I've ridden a new RG but I think I would agree with that too. The adjustment from everything being closer on the SG is getting better for me
I switched from a Street Glide to a Road Glide, mainly because of the handlebars. After the holidays, I'm planning to order the leveler fender and side lowers in vivid black. I'm really looking forward to it.
I traded a 23 street glide in for my 24 Road glide. I have always thought and still do that the street Glide is better looking but for several reason I love my Road Glide. 1. wind buffeting that i dealt with was bad for me. i ride with a modular helmet but leave the visor open most of the time so the buffeting was an issue. 2. I am old and the entertainment system and quit frankly even the analog gauges were to close. With the new screen it is far enough away and much easier to read and with a 10" freedom shield there is no buffeting at 110 ( in Mexico).
That is one thing that is hard for me to get used to, everything is so much closer. I don't know if I like it or not yet but I'm slowly getting used to it. Mexico sounds fun!
It was a very hard choice when I bought my 2024. Always been a Streetglide guy since the Rushmore redesign. I test rode a Roadglide, with stg2 audio and a Streetglide with bars, exhaust and audio. Loved both, ultimately it was color and deal that I got on the Roadglide, plus it was Whiskey Fire. Rode so much better than previous Roadglides, no longer so top heavy at slow speeds, and felt it blocked wind as good as my 17 Streetglide did. Another reason for the swap, never owned a Roadglide so might as well see all this hype. Looking forward to the next batch of things you do to yours. I've been planning out getting the lower radiator cover from ya'll this winter.
Those RG's cut through wind like it's butter for sure. Whiskey Fire is a great color too! We look forward to helping you out on some Color Matched goodies!
I went from a road glide to a street glide as well. I thought the street glide just fit me better. I’m 5-9 and liked the more compact feel of the street glide.
I had a 2019 RGS traded for a 2019 SGS and I luv it. The SGS had meathook bars already installed, I think it handles better, don't seem to be top heavy
I picked up the 24 RG CVOST in Golden White pearl it’s a phenomenal bike overpriced but… oh well.. I’ve always owned a CVO street glide I just wanted a change, I really like the looks of the RG CVOST I think it’s a win-win no matter which one you buy. Any chance of you offering a radiator cover in golden white pearl? Thanks best of luck with your beautiful Street glide.
I got to demo one of those a few times earlier this year. What a phenomenal bike! The color and looks are killer. We do have Golden White Pearl radiator covers on our site right now. We've done quite a few of those already.
Love that color! I believe that the road guide was a California thing and has caught on over the years because they tour better or some people think they do (500 to 800 miles in a day is tiring on anything) I have a 17 SG and love it for me I like the new SG lighting on the front better but really both bikes are really as good as it gets I have retired and a new bike would be a nice late retirement present to me!
I love the SG lighting on these new ones and honestly the RG when lit up looks fantastic too. You deserve, go test ride one, you won't be dissapointed!
As a fellow roadglide guy going to a 24 street glide (onyx white) its because the road glides are being overrun. The roadglides used to be the "young guy" bike but now all the old guys are buying them
I have always owed street glides until 2024 when i bought the 2024 road glide dont no why but i love the new road glide the power is awsome on a stock bike ,Im from Vegas My Name is Randy
I got a 2024 SG after having a 2020 SG. I kinda think the redesign reminds me of a Victory (not Indian) but the light integration is great, colors are excellent. Yeah, SG over RG!
Traded my 2020 Road Glide Special for my 2024 Street Glide with NO regrets. Prefer the look and design of the new SG better and like having the inner fairing and infotainment closer. Also prefer the storage drawer for my phone, keys, etc. 9k on the new SG and I would easily make the same decision again today.
like you I went from road glide to street glide - It's a fickeled world, but I agree on everything you said about the advantages of the street glide, also on the vent, you can put your hand in front of your face, and vent your bike where there is no wind is touching your hand. The neutral zone.
Thanks! I didn't have too many miles on my stock windshield but I feel like it made more of a difference with the stock one vs the KW one. I could be wrong too. The KW 10" changed everything with wind for me.
I own a24 Street Glide and 24 Road Glide. Don’t judge. The new 24 power and tech is amazing and they are twins, essentially same bike. Road Glide looks good going down the road. Style points to to the Road Glide. That said, the Street Glide rides smaller. I have owned an early shovel head Tour Glide & a 2000 Road Glide and now a 24 Road Glide. I have also owned multiple batwing fairing bikes, ultras, classics and Street Glides. If I could only have one, it would be a Street Glide.
You have the best of both worlds! I agree on the 2024 power and tech, I keep saying it but it's wild and impressive. I totally agree on the RG going down the road, sitting still I'm still warming up to the looks but going down the road they look incredible. Thanks for chiming in!
I went From a 18 SGS to A 24 RG 1. Bars RG had bars that I didn't have to purchase and were comfortable out the gate. 2. Storage RG had two pockets vs a Hideaway drawer. 3. Headlight. RG in my opinion has a super bright light, the weird square ( ish ) headlight and the RG turn signals integrated into the fairing. Kinda reminds me of the flux capacitor from back to the Future😅. 4. Overall look. I was not a fan of previous RG until the redesign in 2024. I think it's just a better looking bike next to the RG.
Interesting. I totally agree with the bars. I just added 10" bars to my SG and it really changed things. I do miss my pockets on my RG for sure. The little cubby dash on the SG is handy but you also can not fit much into it. The RG is gorgeous for sure. The RG's with our color matched side fairings really look good.
I bought a 2024 SG in August. I’m a SG guy and my last SG was a 2009 that I bought after me Dyna, which I loved, because of the new frame design. It always felt like my dirt bike in that it felt light and I was able to flick it easily around corners. I looked at the RG in August, but I just don’t like the fixed fairing and the distance of the instruments from the rider. Also, I’m a fairly short 5’5 and the RG bars are too high up and uncomfortable. So for me, whatever everyone else is doing is not reason enough to make a change. I’ll always be a SG guy regardless.
The stock one is not great at all. We do have our Bad Dad rear fender on our website for these new 2024's. It's stock length but has a frenched in plate frame and sooo much cleaner than the factory option. We might be doing one of those in the future.
I've always loved the look of the Street Glide and I just love the new design. Don't get me wrong the 24 Road Glide looks amazing also, but I don't like the fairing being fixed, so far forward and down low. Performance and style of the new Harley Davidsons are incredible! 😃😎👍
Absolutely LOVE that Blue Burst, but G-damn, the prices for these new bikes and now with the $2k increase across the board? Absurd. Riding a 19 Street Glide, but REALLY looking at Road Glides 😂😂 Why? The wind buffeting At high speeds, that wind really affects the bat fairing and you feel the bike oscillate, not much, but just enough Is there a bunch of recalls on the 2024s?? The vent, when it’s closed, your catching “dirty air”, when it’s open, it’s “clean air”
It's a great color isn't it!? Yea, nothing is priced reasonable anymore it seems. I don't have too many miles on mine but have no regrets. I also have a great relationship with my local HD Dealer and they have said they really haven't seen that many issues with these new 2024's like everyone talks about online.
Never liked the RG, that shark nose fairing makes the bike look like a non Harley bike. BTW very nice color! I got a 21 Ultra and love it with the color i wanted...wouldn't get any other model/color...except yours look great!
@@thefactorymatchi took it for a test drive and they asked if it wobbled on high speed because many were complaining and honestly it was wobbling like crazy. Dealer had to add a bracket with with a tune update from HD USA. I test drove the new RG. Zero wobbling
@@thefactorymatch, it depends on the bike, but a lot of folks report wobbling at high(er) speed. I test rode one and above about 65 mph, any sudden handlebar input (I was pretending to avoid an obstacle at highway speed to test it's maneuverability), would cause an oscillation that scared the chit out of me when it first happened, and it kept doing it. Checked pressures and set the preload, ran out again, no difference. It was so dramatic that my salesman, who was right behind me, thought something had broken on the bike and feared I was going down at speed. He rode it, same thing. Long story short (ha-ha), they looked it all over and couldn't find anything obviously wrong. A couple of days later, I test rode the one I ended up buying because it was rock-steady. Despite this initial issue, I absolutely LOVE this bike. I traded in my '22 Road King for it. Power, infotainment, maneuverability, this bike has it all! Now, I'll be the first i line when someone introduces a proper front fender meaning one that extends further down so it would work better in the rain,
@@AJTStuff Shorty story long! HA! That is interesting, as mentioned above I haven't had any issues with mine but also haven't pushed it that much either. I know at 85 mph it's steady eddy but haven't gotten past the 90 mark too many times. We have just the fenders your looking for on our website! www.thefactorymatch.com
I don’t know why they call the Road Glide fairing a “Shark Nose”? They should call it a “Chevy Sedan Front End Fairing”. The Bat Wing looks so much better.

The performance on these new ones are out of this world. For a big ole' stock Harley bagger, these things rip!
the looks of the new streetglide kills the Indian challenger
@@gordonwrichert8240 what do you mean by that? You like the SG more than the Challenger?
I thought the Road glide compares to challenger and the Road master compares to the street glide?
@@thanosetsitty1896THEY ARE COMPARABLE BUT ITS ALSO PERSONAL TASTE
Absolutely LOVE that Blue Burst, but G-damn, the prices for these new bikes and now with the $2k increase across the board?
Absurd.
Riding a 19 Street Glide, but REALLY looking at Road Glides 😂😂
Why?
The wind buffeting
At high speeds, that wind really affects the bat fairing and you feel the bike oscillate, not much, but just enough
Is there a bunch of recalls on the 2024s??
Thanks! I won't lie I am still a lover of the RG but I'm REALLY digging these 2024 SG's!
bro this SG will wobble like crazy at 150kph
Why is that? I allegedly had it up to 100 mph this last weekend, I wouldn't say it was super comfortable but it wasn't bad.
Now, I'll be the first i line when someone introduces a proper front fender meaning one that extends further down so it would work better in the rain,
@@abdallahmoussa1983 Interesting. I haven't had any issues with mine but also haven't really tested it that far either
If you not gliding you not riding
Now thats a slogan!
@@thefactorymatch damn right lol
🤦♂️
I really don’t like the new fairing on the new road glides!
At first I didn't either, they're slowly growing on me though
I think the Street Glide looks like a younger man's bike. The Road Glide looks like something an older guy rides.
I use to think the opposite of this but now with these new ones I agree with you
@ yes speaking about the new ones. Anyway love the bike
Yep. Looks like an Indian. That’s why I clicked this.
I don’t know why they call the Road Glide fairing a “Shark Nose”? They should call it a “Chevy Sedan Front End Fairing”. The Bat Wing looks so much better.
Lol! You know, that isn't too far off!
Yes fairing is ugly and looks too heavy
SGs and RGs suck.... big time...
@@camouflage962 well aren’t you a ball of fun. What do you ride for a bike?
